Imagine how nervous and stressed out you feel only a few days before your wedding. In that state, you come to the realization that you REALLY need a videographer. It would be a miracle to find a high quality one days before a wedding right? Omar Lopez and his team made that miracle happen. Yelp helped me find them. After perusing a few reviews, I found myself on the company's website. The content they published on their website was enough to encourage me to reach out to them in the middle of the night to see if they had availability on short notice. Early the next morning, I got a response from someone who manages client relations at the company named Cynthia. She started the conversation by letting me know someone was available. Cynthia maintained a steady stream of communication with me that made it very smooth to understand the service, state my needs, and book the company for my event. The day before my event, I got a call from Omar Lopez (the owner). His professionalism and attitude really helped calm my nerves and develop more confidence in their ability to meet the needs of my wedding. The actual day of the wedding, Joshua (the principal videographer assigned by him for the event) came out to greet me before the ceremony to mic me up and help me feel at ease with how they prepped the space. After the ceremony and before the cake, Omar Lopez who was helping Joshua throughout the night exchanged a few kind words with me and my wife. P.S. I've written this review before I got my video. The turnaround time they shared with me and my wife is 6-9 weeks. Not saying it was bad, just saying it was complicated. My wife and I met Omar right after we got engaged and had a great conversation with him. We really didn't know what we wanted in regards to picture style so we felt that Omar was the safest bet. Without looking at anyone else's work. We decided to book Omar and proceed to work with him and do our engagement pictures in Yankee stadium first. Engagement shoot was a good day but their were a few issues that we had with Omar. For someone who says that they have been in the business for years and years. Omar didn't really direct my wife and I as to where to stand, how to take pictures, poses, lighting, etc etc. We had to make suggestions in order to get pictures. At that point. We started understanding more about photography and realize that we needed someone that would direct us and give us the best effects and posture for our pictures. We finally got our engagement pictures back. They were good. Not great. Just good. They didn't really have that wow factor we were looking for and felt like we didn't want that to happen at the wedding and we became worried. Some of the problems that arose were. We were looking for pictures to include in our save the dates. When we spoke to Omar and told him that. He decided that he would make a save the date for us to purchase from him. We didn't like it. And we told him. That's when he told us that we would have to purchase our engagement pictures for a extra fee of $20 per picture in order to use it for our save the date. He was not courteous enough to send us over our engagement pictures early so we could use some of them in our save the date. Another thing we realized is that Omar has young photographers and videographers work with him, without years of experience. This worried us because we felt like we were going to have amateurs work on our wedding. One of the biggest events of our lifetime and we didn't feel comfortable with that. Upon reading the contract with our same day coordinator we realize that Omar charged $25 per picture to be edited. On top of the contract price. How is that possible. Isn't photography an art. We realize that we would have had to shell out extra money for that. Also his packages did not include all the photography books and bigger pictures which we realize were over $1000 in price. All in all. We really were not getting a discount because we were going to have to pay extra fees at the end of our contract. Also, we spoke to Omar in regards to the drone that we had added to our package and later realize that we were not going to get drone footage from the day of our wedding but stock footage from previous times he has been at the venue. My wife and I decided to talk to Omar and tell him that we did not want to work with him anymore and we wanted to go another route when it came to our wedding day. Omar would only contact us through Facebook messenger. Very unprofessional I must add and very inconvenient for someone who doesn't use Facebook messenger as a phone. I finally told Omar we were going a different route. Later on we contacted Omar so he can send us our engagement pictures we did in Yankee stadium for 2 hours. Can you believe Omar only send us 40 pictures in total from that day. Wow what a waste of a perfect day. Horrible. Also when we decided not to work with him anymore, he proceeded by deleting my wife and I from Facebook and Instagram. Very unprofessional. We began to meet with other photographers and finally found the perfect one that included everything we wanted and needed on our special day. With Omar, all I got was excuses on why he couldn't use the drone. Not acceptable when you are paying so much money on your wedding and your pictures and videos. I'm sorry but Omar just didn't have that wow factor we were looking for. After our wedding day, Omar went on my wife's Instagram which is public and liked photos she posted previously from our engagement shoot. Omar went on to like them, but didn't like any wedding photos. How unprofessional, we canceled our contract over a year ago. Couldn't you just let it be? Omar is not a bad person and I'm sure he works for some ppl. But he didn't work for us. Yes he took us out to lunch a few times and gave us a gift. But we didn't want those things. The most important thing for us was that you give us amazing pictures that will last us a lifetime. Unfortunately we had to go somewhere else to get that. Omar does not know how to take criticism and instead always wants to have the last word when it comes to criticism. That's very childish and not professional at all. I hope he reads this and understands that we did what we felt was best for our day. Our wedding. My husband and I used Omar and his team for the second time and there was no surprise of how great they truly are. We previously used Omar for our engagement pictures and absolutely loved the experience so we booked him for our wedding as well and they surely delivered and greater experience the second time. Wow! That's all I can say about Omar Lopez! He and his team are professional, responsive and so creative! I live in Louisiana but we renewed our vows in NYC, so I was scared I'd find a photagrapher and they'd flake out and not keep in touch due to the physical distance. But Omar met with us during a quick NYC trip in July. He kept in touch through text, email, and phone calls! At no point did I feel abandoned or let down!
