We used to buffalo gals for our wedding and food was great. Just a few points of miscommunication that caused a bit of unnecessary stress on my wedding day is why the loss of a stars. We were told that the one guest who was celiac and one guest who was vegetarian were going to have a plated meal to prevent risk of cross contamination and would ensure they had their food. We were told not to stress as they would be plated and given to the guests as they were given the guests names and could work with the seating chart. I noticed that the guest who was vegetarian was only eating sides so I had asked and she said she didn't know there was a separate meal. the celiac guest who luckily got to go through the buffet first did not have issues as she did get to go first but could've caused severe outcomes for her if she did have cross contamination. After talking with catering staff onsite they said they were told that the guest has to ask for it which was complete opposite of what was originally communicated, and they were deeply sorry. So just miscommunication with one that actually could've caused permanent harm if she had ingested gluten. We also paid an additional fee for grilling to be onsite, due to fire ban that was unable to occur. We understand that is not within our control but no where in the contract does it say that it is not refundable, so they just held onto that fee even though they didn't provide the service. When asked about the refund I was told the fee was for the tri-tip to be cooked on a specific grill but nowhere does that say that in our contract and was NEVER communicated - because if it was not onsite we were told the way it was cooked was the same - we thought we really were just paying for the experience of it being onsite. So biggest tip for anyone going through them is get everything in writing with clear communication and clarification, because without that they don't care to help.

The place is bright, clean, organized, with a fun vibe. We were there at 5:30 pm on Friday to beat the crowds. My friend's kid loved checking out what drinks in the container full of ice while we were waiting in line. Of course we all got the drink we wanted:). I had pull pork sandwich and beans salad. Yummy my friends were happy with their brisket and spicy sausages. I took home a moist brisket as well. So we were all happy with our meals. Staff were friendly and willing to help if needed.

The mixed bean salad, the coleslaw, the smoked potato and a banana pudding. The mixed bean salad was so good, probably the best bean salad I have ever had. The beans were perfectly cooked. Not at all mushy. The coleslaw was excellent. Crisp and not sweet. Just how I like it. The baked potato. Where do I start ! I have to tell you I was a chef and caterer in England and at one time I had a baked potato business. The potato at Rudy's was perfectly cooked. Fluffy inside. The taste of the potato was so delicious I ate it on its own with just salt and pepper. It was that good. And the banana pudding was so good. My boyfriend had the brisket. He said it was excellent. When we first arrived on Sunday during holiday weekend, there was a line out of the door and I thought oh no. I was already tired from the cog railway and I knew that there wouldn't be many options for me as a vegetarian, but I'm used to that. But my boyfriend loves the meat and another of our friends had been to Rudy's before and recommended it. I'm so glad we waited. At first, I thought it was a weird set up, but it just worked. You know the guy serving us was so friendly. He offered us some samples cause we were new there and then we took all our food to the communal tables and there was some great sauces and my boyfriend loves all his condiments and there were so many to try including pickled spicy carrots, regular pickles,he was just in his element. What a great place. It's probably a good job that we come from California and don't live too close to this place because I'd be going all the time. And bear in mind that I'm not a meat eater and yet the sides were so good. I didn't feel I missed out on anything. I wish I had tried the creamed corn Honestly, we're leaving Colorado on Tuesday and I'm thinking of ways that we can go back to Rudy's to try some more at this barbecue place. I highly recommend it. It's one of the best barbecue places and restaurants that I've been to in a long time. Everything works here, from the staff to the ordering to the food, it's all top-notch.

I ordered the salmon, and my date had a small ribeye with a side of mashed potatoes. Both meals were very good, but our waiter completely ruined what should have been an enjoyable dining experience. Our waiter appeared to be nearly 100 years old and moved and behaved as though he were. His service was painfully slow, and by the time our meals arrived, the food was barely lukewarm. My date's place setting was missing a fork, and after nearly five minutes of unsuccessfully trying to get someone's attention, he finally took one from a nearby table. I later informed our waiter so the next guest wouldn't encounter the same problem. He simply shrugged and carried on, seemingly unconcerned. Despite the restaurant not appearing particularly busy, our waiter seemed determined to rush us through our dinner. He knew it was our first date, yet he gave us little opportunity to settle in and enjoy getting acquainted during those first ten minutes. When we asked about the evening's specials, he mentioned just one and then promptly told us he wouldn't recommend it. From beginning to end, his attitude created an unpleasant atmosphere. What should have been a wonderful dinner and a memorable first date became a frustrating experience. Frankly, I would have had more fun at Outback Steakhouse. As delicious as the food was, I could have prepared something comparable at home. When I dine out, especially at an upscale restaurant, I'm paying for more than the meal. I want to enjoy the atmosphere, the company, and the pleasure of being properly waited on while someone else takes care of refilling drinks, clearing dishes, and making the evening enjoyable. Unfortunately, the level of service we received was more comparable to Golden Corral than to a high-end steakhouse. At these prices, excellent service should be part of the experience, not an afterthought. Great food cannot compensate for terrible service. For that reason, The Famous Steak House is not somewhere I would choose to visit again.
