The Washington Center For the Performing Arts - Our emcee dressed for the occasion for The Greatest Showman

We watched the Nutcracker Ballet and it was delightful and quite child friendly both because the…read moremany children in the audience seemed to vocally enjoy the performance and also because many of the dancers were also children. Because of the curve of the theater, it is difficult to see the entire stage if you're seated on the sides, of course. But I don't think we missed much. The theater even had fake snow falling on patrons as we entered. Cool touch

Not a large venue, but a large enough venue. Came here for the Greatest Showman Singalong which…read morewas pretty epic. Loved hearing how the children in the audience knew the song lyrics verbatim and the energy in the room was exciting. Even mom, who has seen the movie but doesn't know the music, had a fun time riding that vibe. They also had two concession stands, both selling the same stuff, but for some reason people were in line at the one on the left when you enter the bulding instead of going to the one near the stairways. They have free coffee and sell wine, beer, and snacks. I tried the each cider in a traveler sippy cup that you can purchase for $6 which helped me to sneak it in to the theater, lol. The volunteers are all nice and really try to be helpful. It was rough finding parking because the Art Walk was happening at the same time, but we managed. Can we please have more sing alongs? I'll come for all of them.

What a great venue, I didn't even know this place existed, they should have far more events here,…read morethe festival they put on was wonderful and I don't think there was a bad seat in the whole place. Would definitely go back for more.ticketa were a little expensive and there were fees of some sort but that was really the only down side I could see

I went here to see my friend compete in the Mrs. Washington pageant. It's a reasonably sized…read moreauditorium but a typical size for a small college. I did like that the seats were all at an angle where there was no one blocking your line of sight. We sat up in the higher seats toward the back so it was definitely no one blocking our vision. I will say that I was expecting more at the pageant. I don't know if it was due to the people who put on the pageant or if the performing arts center helped them put on the show, but it was very basic. Maybe the background and general set up was basic, as not to detract focus from the lovely ladies parading around the stage with the hopes of winning. I will say that everything looks new and clean and it doesn't give off that old high school auditorium feel. The rest of the center is very nice. The bathrooms are reasonable and there is some cool sculptures hanging overhead in the lobby. I still prefer the size of the auditorium and stage at other venues like the Washington Center for Performing Arts or the Pantages Theater, but this one works for this campus.
