Nobody was asking to look into a live file. I was trying to pay off what was left on a closed one, and I asked what the number was made of before I paid it. A written release was offered. The answer stayed the same -- a phone call first. I asked three times which rule required the call and never got an answer to that question. No records were provided. The letter we received said one amount. The claim filed shortly afterward said another. Neither came with an itemization, and there still isn't one.
