Spent 700 dollars on 4 new cooper tires. Tires are great but they didn't do the alignment. Clowns

Thank you Willie's Garage. I want to share a story with the yelp community about Willie's…read more We started taking our vehicles here in the fall of 2022. At the time it really never occurred to me to do a yelp review for an auto mechanic. This is long over due. We would always take our cars to the dealership for any type of service. And never thought twice about it. In September of 2022, we had an issue with our Lincoln MKC where the engine light kept coming on. Like clockwork we took it to the local Lincoln dealership in Westlake , where we purchased it from in 2016. At the time this was happening there was around 60k miles on the car. After doing some initial online research about why the engine light would come on, the thought was something that it could be fixed with it not being too costly. After going to the dealership to diagnose and attempt to fix the car, we got an astonishing diagnosis. Per the dealership the engine needed to be replaced!!! Upon getting this news I was stunned. How in the world a car that was maintained well with only 60k miles need a new engine that was 6 years old??? Expressing my frustration with the dealership they did not offer any alternate solutions except to give a "discount" on being a valued customer the last 6 years. The original quote for a new engine was close to 8k and with our "valued customer discount" they took it down to 7k. Still digesting this information I was in shock that this was the only option or having to get a new vehicle. Now, the good part. Once I came to the realization of this, I started asking family & friends about any local mechanics they use that are trustworthy & honest for a second opinion. I got Willie's Garage information and made an appointment for them to have a look. Around $800 total the car was fixed!!!!! Ever since that , we do not take our cars anywhere else for service. Today we sold the MKC. It was bitter sweet as it was a reliable vehicle for the 8 years we had it. Thank you to Willie's for having an alternate option on repairing the vehicle two years ago. In today's environment I find it challenging encountering businesses that have their customers best interest in mind and not their profit. Willie's has made a life long customer out me & my family. Good work, honest service and more than reasonable prices for repairs. If you are looking for a good mechanic I highly recommend going to Willie's!

But to my shock I wasn't no sooner, than I got comfortable my name was being called. I had only been there for an hour, my oil had been changed my tires had been rotated and most of all the inspection on my car was done. The next day I was driving around town and was notified by the person I was visiting for the week that there was a large stain on their driveway. Upon returning to their home, it indeed was the oil from my truck. Checking my dipstick, it indeed registered nothing. I called Conrad's and was told to bring my truck in immediately. I have a skid plate on the front of my truck (for protection for off-roading) and I told the manager that I wanted every speck of oil removed as it acted as a serving dish for the six and a half quarts of oil that had drained out. The manager said that the technician admitted that he "thought he had seen a gasket" fly off during the oil change. Due to the absolute negligence of a simple oil change, I took my truck to Olmsted Auto to have them go over the work that had been done at Conrad's. The skid plate had been cleaned, HOWEVER, two of the guys working on my truck rolled my tires into the waiting room so I could have a look at the absolute mess the tech at Conrad's had done. Heavily scratched my rim most likely to his using a metal screwdriver to remove the weights instead of the appropriate plastic tool, and in the words of Olmsted Auto, "this is how you should NOT balance tires". The weights had been spread haphazardly around the rims of all four tires. I did reach Mike, a person in an authoritative position at Conrad's Tires who refunded me the full amount of service. I am now responsible for fully cleaning someone's driveway once it warms up as this occurred during subzero temps, and I will be contacting Conrad's for a rim replacement when I return to the area.
