Our backyard was mostly uneven, crater-filled loose dirt, not unlike the surface of the moon. Olmos landscaping somehow transformed it from a place we tried to avoid to a place we love spending time in, and managed to do it on our modest budget. They did leveling, drought tolerant landscaping, built us front steps, several paths, a driveway, and a small grass area. Our neighbors can't stop telling us how great it all looks, and I'm still taken aback by the transformation every time I go outside. Ignacio, Jenny and their team truly care about what they do and really treat it like an art. Ignacio seems to know EVERY PLANT in the universe, as well as each one's specific water and sunlight needs. He thinks of every detail. I have used Olmos landscape for many years now. Our lawn looks the best in our neighborhood because of these hardworking guys that not only keep our lawns trimmed but also turn the soil, trim the bushes and trees and make sure our lawn is getting enough water and adjust the watering as needed. Ignacio, the owner, is well educated and very knowledgeable. He was a lifesaver for us in our backyard project converting cement to pavers. The cement floor done previously was creating water damage to a portion of our wall and we had no idea! I had spoken to numerous companies and contractors about relandscaping the front yard of my 75 year old house. I was not completely satisfied with any of them but was going to pick one just so I could move forward. My wife and I decided to visit a home expo on day and we happened to see a booth for Olmos Landscaping. We spoke with the owner, Ignacio Olmos, for quite some time. After that conversation I knew I wanted him to be our landscaping contractor. The job involved extensive preparation work including removing an old liquid amber tree that had an extensive network of roots, and the rerouting of the main water line to the house. There was also the issue of permitting, as we wanted to install a paving stone circular driveway. All of these issues we're problematic and I was concerned as how to address them. In retrospect, I had no worries as Ignacio handled everything. The permits we're especially trying due to internal squabbling between two local government departments, which had nothing directly to do with the project. I became very frustrated on several occasions over the eight months it took for these agencies to deciede to stop their internal bickering, but through it all Ignacio stuck it out, was upbeat, told me it would all work out, and personaly made multiple trips to government offices and spent numerous hours on the phone to resolve each and every ludicrous issue and and answering every nonsensical question the beauracrats could come up with. In the end, once the hurdles were overcome, his team was able to quickly and efficiently finish the job. The end result is beautiful. I got my circular driveway with paving stones. The landscaping is all drought resitant. A gorgeous lighting system and a completely new sprinkling system we're installed. Ignacio's and his team's work are all top-notch, and I cannot recommend them high enough. I recently listed my home for sale and the majority of questions and comments from both realtors and prospective buyers were about the landscaping. Without exception they were impressed and wanted to know who did it. Of course, without hesitation I recommended Olmos landscaping. In large part, I attribute my home selling in three days to the curb appeal created by Ignacio. Not only does Ignacio and his staff do great work, they are nice, honest people. I would give Ignacio and his team a hundred stars if I could. I searched for a landscaping company to redo our backyard which needed new irrigation, gopher wire and new sod. Ignacio and everyone I spoke to on the phone at Olsmos was incredibly responsive and helpful and so nice to talk to. We looked at quite a number of landscape contractors. We settled on Olmos Landscaping because of a sense that the owner (Ignacio Olmos) was deeply involved, had a good sense of aesthetics, and would use good materials and practices. Further, this is a second-generation family business with years of tradition and experience. Our assessment proved correct and the landscaping experience was actually enjoyable. We are delighted with the new driveway with pavers, the shapes of the landscaped areas, the choice and placement of diverse drought resistant plants, our new olive tree, and the many small things. We enjoyed working with and learning from Ignacio, who helped us make good choices. Once the job started, he was quickly available (by text or phone) for questions and updates. We were also impressed by the dedication and skills of the Olmos crew, which continued to work to the maximum extent possible despite frequent interruptions of rain and mud.
