Another cool feature about this location is that the band is setup across the water. Oh & it's FREE :)..just find you an open spot & relax! This theater totally adds to the charm of the San Antonio RiverWalk & I'm glad we stumbled across this gem! -Rebecca out

There's free public restrooms at the top of the steps, and a drinking fountain too, which there seems to be a lack of on the Riverwalk. There are no bad seats in the house! The steps rise up so that nobody has a blocked view. I love catching shows here! Someone once told me that the bells behind the stage were the original Taco Bells ;)

One of their singers just brought the house down with 'At Last'. I tried the Texas Honey cider from Austin. Just a tad sweet, but delicious. Really good if you're looking for a break from beer. Refreshing. Snake Hawk Press had a booth. Got a koozie for me and a t-shirt for the husband. The t-shirt says 'El Jefe'. He'll like that. The koozie is an ad, but also says 'puro party time'. Yes, it is.

The river flows in between the crowd and the band, and serves as a wonderful backdrop to the concert! All of the bands I've seen here have been incredible! They all center around the Latin American beat, and have all rocked the house. Pinata Protest?! Si!!! That was beyond awesome. I've been to several of their shows, and they get some seriously good acts. Even if you've never heard of the band or the opening act, get down there and check it out. All of the concerts are FREE!! They don't ask for donations or anything. They just ask that you don't bring in your own booze. They sell it on the spot. The recent ones have been sponsored by Cadillac, and they're giving away some great swag- blankets and headphones! Woot! Free too! They're always giving away the concert's posters for free if you show up early. I love these shows! You'll see me at nearly all of 'em!

The only issue that I had and it might be more of a pet peeve is that they did not check tickets. The woman at the front was very friendly and said we looked trustworthy or something along those lines. The reason why this is a pet peeve is that I have run into issues with this before. It was not at this theatre but another. Someone else was already in the seats that I paid for. I decided not to make a big deal of it and sat somewhere else. At the end of the show, I could hear someone taking about how good the show was and how they couldn't believe it was free. This did not happen at this theatre but it could if they continue with not checking tickets. I recommend this place for good plays and good drinks.

They truly made the experience memorable, and I would highly recommend seeing them. Unfortunately, the venue was experiencing air conditioning issues during a Texas summer. Handing out small paper fans wasn't enough to keep the audience comfortable in the heat. Because I was trying to stay hydrated, I ended up missing a large portion of the concert with multiple restroom breaks. It's disappointing that attendees weren't notified of the air conditioning issue beforehand or given the opportunity to reschedule. Knowing the conditions in advance would have allowed guests to make an informed decision. I would absolutely recommend the Candlelight Concert series because the musicians are exceptional. However, I would encourage attending at a different venue where the audience can comfortably enjoy the performance from beginning to end.
