What a gem! Came in because it seemed cute and every other coffee shop was closed at 4pm. Loved the…read morebooks, the vibe, and the coffee was SO good. Kevin was our barista and made us some delicious coconut mochas and was super friendly and cool. Came back the next morning for more coffee and I didn't catch her name but this barista was lovely as well and also made amazing coffee!

Cute and quant. I've only tried two items from here but so far so good. absolutely delicious…read more the "Om my God" is pretty delicious. strong coffee taste with some chewy boba. They have a nice seating area and I was greeted with a friendly smile. he was pretty patient when I couldnt decide what I wanted. this is a nice place to read and place your laptop and do some work. Music is at a nice volume. not distracting but loud enough. i do get distracted easily so the music is slightly higher than i put for myself but again preference. people we're consistently coming in and out but only one person stayed and came through. my only disappointment was that we couldn't read the books. the barista did mention i could read clearance and if i really wanted to.. just to be careful with the spine... which in all fairness i totally get it and agree. books need to sell and used books tend to not. I was just hoping for a nice place to read books and drink some coffee. which this is definitely it but less on the reading books. i'd feel bad if i didn't buy it and i showed reading on the spine. this isn't a bad review. i really enjoyed it. just wished there were more options of books to read without feeling bad coffee and baked goods delicious, service amazing, nice options of books and clearance books as well.

What a find! Buho is on Washington St, a few doors up from Rutledge burgers. It's a small, local…read morebookshop with an emphasis on Latino/Latina authors and local selections, such as Brownsville Stories. The atmosphere here is incredible. Like a small university library. It feels like if you pull on the right book, the shelves will turn into a door and open up into a secret room. Wishing thinking, eh? There were some students playing chess, one person on his laptop, and a handful of customers browsing the shelves. There's a coffee shop in the back, and they had excellent coffee. I had the cortado and a Sleepy Hollow Latte (their take on a PSL). Both were delicious. I ended up also buying a shirt and a book (the aforementioned Brownsville Stories) and both totaled up to about $48 - not a bad deal in my opinion. I also got 10% off because I purchased a coffee. I am completely in love with this place. It's serene, welcoming, and overall just full of culture and good vibes. I can't wait to come back. (Oh, and we went on a Sunday when parking was free and there was MUCH less foot traffic. Highly recommend coming here on Sundays!!)

Walked into this place on a slow Sunday afternoon with my husband. The vibe was nice and loved the…read moresmell of the place (smelled like old books). We ordered the Thousand Acre seasonal iced coffee and was not impressed. Don't know the history of the place but the coffee was subpar. Sadly, the coffee I make at home is better. Dare I say it, but Starbucks is way better hands down. I purposely chose a local spot but was let down yet again by a local coffee shop that appears to just want to call itself a coffee shop and try to sound cool by adding on "book store" Love the effort Brownsville, but the taste was very underwhelming. The books and place were nice, but the coffee was just bean water. I wouldn't go back for a $7 coffee. Not worth it.

Barnes & Noble has books of all kinds, but it also has so much more than books! I saw at display of Lego sets that become floral bouquets, bonsai trees, and other amazing things. They sell vinyl records, DVDs, gifts, and toys. They have a coffee shop, a place for classes and community events. Their children's space is wonderfully decorated and looked like a great place to take children or grandchildren. The displays were well organized according to category - everything from fiction to philosophy, devotionals, science, and much, much more. Since I have a stack of books I'm already working on, I didn't take the time to find another one to add to it - though, considering their selection, I'm sure I would have found several. I made my way to the check out and presented my receipt for the book I purchased online, and they had it waiting for me. The young man at the counter was courteous and efficient. I intend to return when I have more time to browse and perhaps enjoy a coffee too.

Children's section may get a little messy, but it's to be expected. This area is cleaned up in timely fashion! There is a small area for children to sit and read; it's decorated with small creatures and very welcoming! There is a Starbucks inside and there is plenty of seating! Magazines are grouped and stocked nearby so it's a great place to check out some mags you may be interested in purchasing. So many and ones that I never knew about. Interesting! Cool toys and games for adults and children!!! Fun! Great bookstore and you gotta give yourself at least an hour to wander around and check out what Barns & Noble has to offer! If you didn't know, there is an ISBN NUMBER located on all books sold, and you can use this number if you want to order a book! You'll find this number on the back bottom right hand. The first time I used this ISBN number the person at the help desk wasn't aware of this information. So, just a little bit of new info for some of us avid readers!
