This place is a hidden gem! I've passed it many times on my way to Fernandina. It's next to a brewery and in a strip mall shopping center. I first noticed that they had lobster ravioli and so it's been on my radar for a long time now, but I finally just got there and boy was I blowed away! I had the lobster ravioli with Rosetta sauce, which I had never had before, and it was amazing. The lobster raviolis were fat and I got shrimp to go with it. That was way more than I could've eaten! Wife and I just moved to the area and have been meaning to try Olive Cove. We called ahead to see if they offered table reservations. However, they do not. We came in on a Saturday at 6:00pm and we were able to get the only table available. The waitresses greeted us right away. The restaurant is a lot more cozy than I thought it would be. Very clean area and friendly staff. I ordered a beer and she ordered a sangria. They offer a 2-4-1 on drinks so I ended up receiving two beers and her sangria was in a double glass. They brought bread to the table with a nice garlic butter spread. It had very good flavor and the bread was good as well. Our entrees came out. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan and she got the Fettuccine Alfredo and added blackened chicken. They both were excellent. Definitely made from fresh ingredients, not commercial quality. We both have hefty leftovers for a second meal. We will absolutely be coming back on special occasions. read more

This is a small business and I love to support. But when they give up and cheap out, still charging premium prices, I have to do a call out.. The chicken parm were pre bought frozen breaded breasts (wife not happy).. came with pasta.. sauce was best thing on the plate,according to wife. My Chicken Alfredo .. disappointing..chicken bland (6$ upcharge) the sauce was bland,very bland.. The chicken cutlets that I paid a up charge for didnt add much to the flavor or desire to keep eating. I went back to eating the fake meatballs in the tasty sauce. When asked if we wanted a box for all the uneaten food wife and I made eye contact and said yes ..awkwardly. It's still in the fridge 2 days later waiting for the trash. Waiter was friendly but not personable service was good.. atmosphere is fantastic, place is clean! Paid around 80$ for 2 meals, tip and app.. drank water,no beer. Still a great experience and still has that amazing sauce! Today I tried the manicotti and it was wonderful! I also tried a side of meatballs, but not as impressed. I just may be a snob with meatballs, but these made me feel like store bought and I wouldn't order again, but at least that sauce is on them that I really enjoy. Sadly I don't have really any positive feedback. To start... seating is dreadfully uncomfortable.... the meatballs are SAMS frozen meatballs 100%. Fine for feeding a crowd at potluck .. but no! The manicotti was meh .... Seemed to be plain ricotta and no spices buried under 7 pounds of mozzarella. My husband said the chicken parm was "fine". Usually it's hard to know where to start with a review, but Olive Cove really does Osso Bucco well. Perfectly tender and seasoned, there's no doubt this will please any carnivore. Picked the Rosato and it was divine! The flavor marries well to the pork. No need to add anything! Another at the table ordered it with the Alfredo. Delicious! Both plates had leftovers for the next day. Teen ordered the Linguini Marsala and quite liked their meal. Plenty for noshing on tomorrow. The Chicken Parmesan was classically prepared and wonderfully dressed. Everything was received with great satisfaction. The bread! Do not skip the garlic butter with it. This carboholic was very enthused with the unlimited refills. As to the service, I have to specify that this particular visit was on Mother's Day and there were some issues prior to our arrival that caused a chain reaction. With a cook out and a rush for the holiday, there was a temporary closing that had us wait about 45 minutes to be allowed in for seating. The closure was understandable and none of us were bothered. In fact, all of us said it was worth the wait! Our server was super on it, despite the place filling up pretty much instantaneously upon the doors opening again. The food came out quickly and to eager mouths. This place was hopping and deserves the stars for how well they handled the rushes. On other visits, the wait times were respectable. There is a large parking lot, with wheelchair access in the front of the plaza. This restaurant is romantic for dates and an upgrade for groups. Drink specials are abundant and generous. read more

This place used to be great. They had a huge Stromboli and a large menu. They narrowed it down to a 1 page menu. Usually that means everything on the menu will be spectacular. This is not the case here. The bread: sliced half way through. The part that was sliced was soft but the bottom was hard and crunchy. It was served with garlic butter that was more salt than garlic. If you want a salad with your meal you pay extra for it. It was the highlight of the meal. Crisp lettuce, large slices of cheese and a Ceasar dressing that must be made in house. It was very good. I had chicken parmesan. It came with a side of spaghetti. The chicken was really hot when it was served, burn your pallet hot. Food is not cooked this hot so i am thinking maybe it was microwaved. The breading had no spices. The sauce was just crushed tomatoes. Not cooked down to thicken, no spice, just tomatoes and juice. Our server was pretty OK. I think she is the only reason for 2 stars. She was friendly and knowledgeable but I got the idea she isn't happy with the food either. This place has gone way down hill. read more

We ordered two lasagna meals tonight to go. My boyfriend put them in the front seat of his truck and drove them home. As soon as he got home and started inside, the bottom of the bag gave way and both meals hit the pavement. Both containers of lasagna hit the ground. I called and spoke to a manager by the name of Zack. I wanted him to know that either someone had set the bag in something wet or maybe he had a stash of bags that wasn't any good. He was rude and condescending, and even went as far as to tell me that it was my fault that I lost my $44 dinner. It is now sitting in the parking lot at my apartment. As she began to utter her words, I heard olive, and braced for the next word. She then said Cove, I was game. As we pulled up, I know that I had looked at this place while in the area previously. Today was the trial of the many times I've driven by. Walking it we were greeted swiftly and seated equally as fast. This a small place which I was excited about, very pleasant ambiance and attention to detail. We reviewed the menu and the specials that were presented. I have seen Osso Bucco previously on many cooking shows but never ventured into it. Today was that day. My bride also ordered another special dish with chicken. We enjoyed an appetizer before being served that monster meal. See the picture of this dish. This is one of those dishes where you rethink previous choices you have made. Diving into this dish was intimidating until the first bite came in contact with the taste buds. It was a party in my mouth. I've been wanting to try Olive Cove for a while now. Waste of time and BIG MONEY. The server had a bad attitude when we came through the door. He pointed his finger to the side seating area and said "anywhere over there." I went to a high top in the middle of the place. He really got an attitude cause I didn't follow the rules. I had Chicken Picatta. It was gooey and most of the pasta noodles were stuck together. The chicken tenders were chewy. It just wasn't good at all. Inedible and expensive for what's given. The bread was fine, but there was not enough for a table of 3. The butter accompanying the bread had an overly strong fake garlic flavor. The salads were a joke for the price. The fettuccini Alfredo was average at best - but it was the most edible meal at our table. The shrimp scampi sauce had a horrible fake lemon-juice-from-a-bottle taste and weirdly coated the mouth. The shrimp was crunchy. The chicken Marsala tasted like it was made from a teriyaki sauce powder that was burnt. The chicken was mushy. And to top it off - one glass of (what tasted like barefoot) wine was $12. Went here when we were in town with my husband's parents. Everything was very good. We got the chicken parmesan, manicotti and meatballs, lasagna, and a pasta dish with chicken and goat cheese and sundried tomatoes (can't remember the name). The portions were good sized and had a tons of cheese. My favorite was the pasta with the goat cheese. The meatballs were really good too. We also got red sangria which was great. Saw some good reviews on yelp so decided to give it a try. It's hard to find a good Italian restaurant in and around Jax but this place did not disappoint. The place was clean and open. The server was good and very attentive. The tables were wood with a heavy resin coating which made them shine. I had the Chicken Parm and my girl had the Salmon. The Chicken was cooked to perfection and the spaghetti was plentiful. It had the right amount of sauce and I finished the whole thing! The Salmon was flakey and juicy with a good portion. The only thing was they did not have salad. The server said due to health reasons. Over all good. We will return. read more

Italian food here in Fernandina Beach is scant in options. Olive Cove is a small, venue. Overall I'd say the food is nothing special, and the service can be good when they're not too busy. They have a tiny in-house wine selection to augment the meal. Dessert was likely the best part of my dining experiences here. They have the most uncomfortable seating with hard wooden benches. They do offer a few pillows. Place seats about 40 people. If you're looking for a basic, no frills experience, that's what you'll find. read more

I have mixed feelings about this place...and would give it 4 stars but my meal was just not good... Also, the hours listed are for takeout. You have to call to ask about dine in seating hours! Its a cute little mom and pop place. The seats arent super comfy but they added foam seat cushions for the hard benches. The server was great! Quick and friendly. When you buy an entree they bring out free bread and a yummy whipped garlic butter. You also get a free salad which has fresh parm and was amazing. If i just rated off these 2 things it would be 5 stars. I got the scampi and it was insanely sour...not sure what it was, too much fake garlic or too much lemon...but I literally had 1 bite and didnt finish it.
