We didn't book an excursion with our cruise company, and did a little early searching and found Oli's Trolley had great reviews. So when our tender arrived in Bar Harbor, we made a bee line over to the service counter. We had prebooked because the popular times sell out quickly, so we basically just had to pick up our tickets. We chose one of the mid-scenic tours so we could still catch lunch afterwards. It was a great tour! We had several stops along the tour at various places around Acadia National Park. The history that our guide gave us along the way, specifically about the Rockefellers and how they made great contributions to the natural area, and made sure its preservation would remain for future generations. One of the highlights is getting to the top of Cadillac Mountain. If you are a local tourist and trying to get there with a rental car, unless you're up there very early, you probably won't be allowed as there isn't much parking at the top of the mountain, but tours are still allowed. At the top, you can see all of Bar Harbor, and it's absolutely beautiful. We were there in mid-fall but the leaves were very late in changing that year unfortunately so we didn't get to see all the colors. If you have to send an urgent e-mail during the trip, the trolley driver will very unprofessionally humiliate the customer in front of the entire group and sternly demand that you put away your electronic device. We went on a tour of Acadia National Park from Olin's Trolly. We are from NY and wanted to get a feel for the area and places we may want to revisit. It was great. Really informative and beautiful. Oli's tours are great! The 2.5 hour tour stopped at Thunder Hole, Jordan Lake, and Cadillac Mountain. The stops are short so I think I would do the 4 hour tour next time. My wife and I took the 30 minute tour of Bar Harbor as well as the 2.5 hour tour of Acadia National Park the following day. The 30 minute tour was very informative and we learned a lot about the history of the town and the famous people that went along with it. Beautiful homes and fantastic scenery along the way. Our tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and had a sense of humor. The 2.5 hour tour of Acadia was fantastic. As part of the tour, we stopped at Thunder Hole, Jordan Pond, and Cadillac Mountain. We got 15 minutes at each spot which isn't enough time but they offered a 4 hour tour if you wanted it. We had a very knowledgeable tour guide with a sense of humor and he provided non-stop information and facts throughout the tour. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. I would highly recommend both tours. Prices were very reasonable for what you see and learn. I would also book ahead so you don't get sold out since there are cruise ships that come into town. Enjoy the moment. You might only be there once. read more

My wife and I took two Oli's tours this week. The first was of down town Bar Harbor on a rainy day. Our guide and driver Fred was excellent. He knew local history, points of interest and suggested eateries and shops. The next day we took the 4 hour tour of Acadia National Park. This was well worth every penny. Just the luck of the draw we had Fred again and again excellent. His narration helped us learn about the history and background of various areas. The best part is we did not need to navigate the traffic. The park is very busy in peak season and this gave us both a chance just to sit back and relax but still see many things. If you are arriving on a cruise ship and only have one day to see Bar Harbor then this is the way to see it. Highly enjoyed our tour with Oli's Tour the guide was very knowledgeable and driving up to Acadia to see the beautiful sites where outstanding. You will be done by 12:30ish with time for a great Lobster lunch and then walking around the beautiful town taking in the site's and the views. We took the half hour Bar Harbor tour. Our driver was super nice and gave you lots of great history about the city. The tour also helps give you the lay of the land without having to drive and navigate at the same time. This is helpful if you're going to be there for a couple of days. We were going to take the 2.5 he park tour but it was pouring rain. So we decided not to go as we would have to wait in the rain and we weren't sure it was going to be worth going. They called us when we hadn't checked in on time and although we hadn't canceled with enough notice they gave us a refund and it showed up in about 20 minutes. What great customer service. This was my 4th time to Bar Harbor. But, my 1st tour. If you have driven around Bar Harbor. You know it's tough to look around and drive. This tour was great! Our drivers name was Paula. She did an incredible job. I order our tickets online the night before. Showed up early and picked them up. They have a little booth right where you get on the trolley. We took the 1.5 hour tour up Cadillac Mountain. Paula was very informative. Once your up on the mountain you have about 20 mins to look around. You don't have time to visit the gift shop. But, it was worth the trip. We got a ton of beautiful pictures. It was only $25 a person. Bring a jacket and a drink. I'm definitely going to do this again. I wanna do the longer tour. Trolley was very nice and clean. Make sure to bring cash for a tip. read more

2.5 Hour Acadia National Park Tour Our tour guide was Paula. She loved to hear herself talk and she spoke non-stop for the entire 2 1/2 hours. She felt the need to be interactive and tried to hold the bus hostage to her 200 questions along the way. The result was her trying to keep your attention which resulted in not being able to enjoy the tour, the scenery, and avoid getting a massive headache. She did not stop talking for 2 1/2 hours. At the breaks, she tries following us along the scenic trails, talking even more, we had to run away from her as those breaks were really breaks from her voice. We thought the narrated trip was a talk about Acadia National Park. It was Paula's tour, and she made sure you focused on her, not the tour. If you want to hear about mice, bad jokes, and what Paula likes for the entire 2 1/2 hours, then you will enjoy the tour. read more

My parents love going on tours, so I thought it would be nice to include one in our Maine vacation. Plus, it gave all of us a break from all the driving we were doing. Since there's so much to do at Acadia, I figured it would be best to do an overview and see highlights of the park, especially since we only had a day and a half in Bar Harbor. Light internet research brought me to Oli's Trolley, and the rest is history! From the moment I picked up our tickets at the small kiosk on 1 West Street, I knew we'd be in for a good time, as they had a sign that said "No whining." The trolley itself was in great condition, had a great speaker system so everyone could hear, was very clean, and had a good heater (it was still a little chilly, even though it was already May.) Our guide was very informative and cracked a lot of witty jokes, which I was a fan of. He knew the routes of Acadia like the back of his hand, and successfully drove around the park while simultaneously spitting out fun facts and entertaining us with interesting stories. Unfortunately, we experienced some moody Maine weather in the form of grey skies, fog, and intermittent rain. Although we made it to the peak of Cadillac Mountain, the view was quite underwhelming as it was foggy and we couldn't see much. The fog also ruined our views of the beautiful homes in Seal Cove. Although we were given some time to take pictures, I refrained from doing so. Sunshine or bust! If the weather in Bar Harbor is cooperating, I highly recommend that first-time visitors do the Acadia tour! read more

Two thumbs up! Our guide was adorable. She was an older woman who really knew her facts about Bar Harbor & Acadia National Park. She was a fun narrator who really grabbed your attention and wanted you to understand and love the area as much as she did. She even did an impersonation of Mrs. Stoksbury that was simply adorable. The tour was 2.5 hours from Bar Harbor and into the national park. We stopped three times to get out and look at the location, take photos and explore. When we got to each location, she offered to come with us to explain things. We followed her into the gardens and learned about carnivorous plants, the bog and all sorts of other vegetation. We also saw thunder rock and all the pink granite lining the area. It was such a perfect fall day and my husband and I got many cute photos of the foliage and the to die for views of the ocean. Open Atlantic is dangerous but so beautiful. We had quite the memorable trip thanks to our guide. Go check them out. read more

The folks at Oli's Trolley in Bar Harbor Maine do sightseeing right. From the great customer service from their storefront on the waterfront, to the terrific driver/guides, you feel very special. Oli's offers 2 different tours, a short 1 hr that takes you from downtown Bar Harbor, to the top of Cadillac Mountain, and a longer one, about 2.5 tour that goes along part of the Acadia National Park Loop Road, along with Bar Harbor & Cadillac Mountain. This is not an on / off at your leisure all day trolley (like Boston). You sign up for a specific tour time and stay with that ride from start to finish. It's best to book in advance, they get really busy on the days cruise ships are in the port. read more

My family decided to go on the 2.5 hour Acadia Park tour thru Oli's Trolley. The trolley was not crowded, which was nice...about 17 people showed for the 10:00am tour. Overall the tour was nice, a little pricey ( about $140 for 2 adults and 2 children). One piece of advice, look at the weather forecast. It was foggy in the morning and we were unable to see any of the beautiful views. Obviously not Oli's Trolley fault, but one of the risks of purchasing tickets ahead of time. I would have preferred to wait until the day of and buy tickets...unless they were offered at a discount due to weather. read more

Instead of taking my motorcycle into Acadia, I opted for the four hour tour with Oli's Trolleys. It was money well spent. Gloria, the driver on my tour, shared much of the history during the drives and the half hour stops were just the right time to explore, take photos and freshen up. What a great little tour! My girlfriend and I took the 2.5 hour Acadia National Park tour and it was excellent! It was well organized and we left right on time. The guide was very knowledgeable and she talked the entire 2.5 hours! Very impressive. It is a beautiful park and the weather was perfect so that definitely "elevated" the experience (pun intended) We made three 15 minute stops during the tour as well, and one of the stops had a large restroom and a gift shop to buy snacks/drinks.
