The school environment feels supportive and focused on helping students grow both academically and personally. The staff and teachers seem dedicated to creating a place where students feel encouraged to learn and participate. What stood out to me was how organized everything appeared and how approachable the staff were when questions came up. It's clear that a lot of effort goes into maintaining a safe and structured environment for students. Schools like this play an important role in the community, and it's great to see people who genuinely care about helping students succeed.

All four of my boys attended Tussing Elementary and we've been nothing short of pleased with the programs and dedication to students that this place has to offer. The faculty is phenomenal and we love the fact that they make every effort to communicate with the parents, no matter what. Teachers wouldn't hesitate to call or email you if there was a reason to talk to you about anything good or bad. I think the strong communication lines are would make this place so awesome. The teachers take every opportunity to educate the children in more than just academics. For instance, my son told his teacher that I was a safety professional and she asked me to come in and give a special presentation on personal protective equipment and general safety at home. They have wonderful extracurricular events and they're very eager to involve family. I especially love the fact that they are a poll location which is very convenient in terms of proximity to my house. The only thing that disappoints me is that my youngest is one year away from graduation , so it's been sometime time since any of my boys have been to the school. Still, I would recommend that any and everyone enroll their children here. This is what education is all about!

The library, which underwent a massive renovation in 2010-2011, is located in Columbus Hall, just…read morebehind and to the right of the Christopher Columbus Statue. There is a large patio area leading to the first floor entrance, though the only seating is the concrete picnic tables. The first floor of the library has the circulation desk, where you can check out laptops, textbooks for two hours, study rooms, or get help ordering books and checking your library account. There are study tables, quick print stations, the writing center, IT support, a small computer lab, the multimedia lab, and the TV studio also all on the first floor. The second floor has a large computer lab with just under a hundred computers, reference librarians and materials, and some open study tables. The third floor is the quiet study floor, with a silent room and individual tables, sofas and armchairs, magazines and periodicals, and a classroom. There are some overhead directional signs for the main desks, although the smaller labs and rooms are not always clearly labeled. The library gets very crowded during midterms and finals, and is really too small for the present student population. The open study areas can also become quite noisy. The quality of the staff can vary; there also seems to be quite a lot of technological challenges regarding printing, speed of computers, getting connected to the wifi, and using the laptops that are available for check-out. They do have a fairly large two-hour textbook reserve collection, which is great if you have an intro or GE class and haven't bought your textbooks yet. The group study rooms are also useful, since they have outlets and large whiteboards, but they can be crowded during peak times and you may have to put your name on a waiting list. All in all, the library has potential, but does need some improvement.

I learned a lot, not just about reading, writing, and arithmatic, but about social skills, music, and art, too. I'm not sure what the school is like anymore. The building I knew and grew up in was demolished in 2006 and replaced with what appears to be a smaller, more "modern" facility. I just remember being a student and loving every second of it. I had teachers who encouraged learning and cared about their students. I had two wonderful principals who took their jobs seriously and, while completely different in personality, they took care of the students in their charge. It was a safe environment for everyone.

My child completed their preschool experience with strong pre-academic and spiritual foundations. The administrative staff, preschool teachers, specials teachers (e.g., Spanish, P.E. instructors), and aftercare teachers are top notch. My child attended full day preschool as a 3-year-old and again as a 4-year-old. We were so impressed that we had no qualms about continuing enrollment in kindergarten at Central College Christion School. The preschool team is kind, courteous, and conscientious. The director and program coordinator have an open-door policy and welcome parent collaboration. There are many parent volunteer activities, as well as school-sponsored events during evening and weekend hours to give working parents an opportunity to be a part of the preschool community. At Central College Preschool, diversity is celebrated, and it was reassuring to see students and staff from diverse backgrounds represented. Central College Preschool (and the elementary school) is a gem! It is so much more than a school; it's a family.
