Let me start by saying I was very excited when Cedarbrook called, in May, and said there was a spot…read morefor my husband in their Memory Care unit, we had been on their waiting list for 4 months. Sadly, if your loved one is in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's, Cedarbrook is not the place for you, for many reasons. Here are just a few. First, the Memory Care unit doesn't seem to understand Alzheimer's and how someone in the advanced stage can quickly change. Example, one day they might know how and where to use a bathroom and the next that ability is completely gone. The only bathroom a residents is allowed to use is the bathroom in their room. This might not sound bad, but when the room is down a long hallway, the resident has no idea where that room is and the staff is not paying attention to signs a person has to use a bathroom it is a recipe for disaster. Second, the unit has approximately 38 residents made up of two very long hallways, making it very large which is confusing to a person with memory loss plus it seemed like it was constantly under staffed. Last, Cedarbrook does not allow any devises to notify them a resident is up in their room (cameras or movement mats), at night, which creates a fall risk. The only device that they have records after a person has fallen. If the staff knew a person was awake and up they could possibly prevent a fall from happening by going and checking on the person. The nurse, from Cedarbrook, came to our house and interviewed us. I was very clear he was experiencing advanced stages of Alzheimer's when he gets frustrated he will clap his hands loudly and yell because he no longer had the ability express himself. She assured me they could handle it, within two weeks they were starting to indicate he wouldn't be able to stay, at four weeks I was told I either hire a full time caregiver to support their staff or find another placement for him.

It probably is more of a 4 to 4 1/2 star but honestly, when actually comparing it to others, I would give it a five. If I compare it to resale stores, maybe a then a 4. The way it was organized was terrific, and it made things very easy to find. The staff working, there were friendly, helpful, and overall just kind. And the selection of certain items were very good. I would probably say in terms of quantity and overall quality it would depend what you're looking for. Clothing I would probably say is a 3 to 4 star experience based on amount and pricing. But if you're looking for HomeGoods, kitchenware, or other things of that genre, it has a lot to offer. I was particularly impressed that they took the time to label the size and type of the linens. This is not something I've seen done at a thrift store before and it is extremely useful. I actually ended up getting some curtains for my photography business as a result. Normally, I don't take that risk because I can't tell what they might fit like. The linen area was amazing. Highly recommend if you're looking for table cloths, sheets, placemats, etc.. I also was impressed with how they have the jewelry laid out. And it made me think about some of the stuff that I have wanted to donate for jewelry, but I haven't felt comfortable bringing to Goodwill or Salvation Army. I may donate some costume jewelry here soon. Definitely I will be back and I'm so glad I discovered this place today. Well I didn't buy clothes. I would definitely skim through them again in the future. But I will for sure. Be coming to do prop source in here. Prices were fair, even if there was no Gimmick sales. I would rather have prices upfront that are good anyway.

My son met the 42-inch height requirement and has safely enjoyed similar attractions before, yet we were still made to feel uncomfortable and singled out throughout our visit. What upset me the most was watching my son cry after getting hurt, and instead of showing concern or compassion, staff looked at him, walked away, and laughed with another coworker. As a parent, that was heartbreaking and completely unacceptable to witness. No child should ever be treated with such disregard, especially when they are visibly upset and crying. Throughout the visit, my children both older and younger were watched excessively, which made us feel targeted instead of welcomed. As a Black family, the treatment we experienced raised serious concerns about bias and discrimination. I fully understand the importance of safety rules, but rules should be enforced respectfully and equally for everyone. Families come to these facilities to feel safe and enjoy time together, not to feel humiliated, ignored, or judged. I will be contacting the district and administration for both facilities to formally report these experiences and seek accountability. I hope steps are taken to ensure no other family or child is made to feel this way again.

The Clinton Township Senior Adult Life Center offers wide variety of activities, classes,…read moreservices, and planned excursions for people 55 years of age or older. Lifetime membership is available for a one-time fee to anyone ages 55 and older who has a valid Michigan state I.D. or driver's license. In the case of married couples, if one spouse meets the age requirement, then the other is allowed to be younger. The fee for residents of Clinton Township is $50 for a single and $70 gor a couple. Non-residents pay $80 for a single and $140 for a couple. Naturally, group excursions, classes, wellness sessions, and other services cost extra (I pay a whopping $4 for an hour of T'ai Chi, for instance). However, use of much of the facility is available to members at no additional charge, and many groups of people meet to play cards, discuss books, or just generally hang out. I could not begin to list all of the things that are going on here, but you can go to their website and click on The Senior Newsletter on the left side of the page if you would like to check it out for yourself. They have all kinds of clubs and get-togethers for enthusiasts of everything from Mah Jongg, chess, and bingo to knitting, wood carving, and investing. Many sports snd fitness classes are held here, such as Yoga, T'al Chi, Meditation, Badminton, Tennis, and Ping Pong. Use of their Wellness Center, with a wide spectrum of exercise equipment, has a yearly membership fee and requires physician approval. In addtion to all this, they have a slew of special events including dinners, holiday parties, and socials. If that's not enough, they have a travel club called The Wanderers which arranges trips to all manner of places both near and far. Need your watch battery replaced, knives sharpened, hair cut, or nails done? Those services are available, as well... and I have barely scratched the surface in this brief review. If you are 55 or older, you would do well to check this place out. Tell 'em Lee sentcha!

Yes taxes out here are high both summer and winter since 1992, When I moved out here. Years ago the township office was small and located behind the fire station on 23 Mile off of Romeo Plank, therefore this huge building has come a long way and supplies many residents in Macomb Township, The building has two floors and the parking lot is in the back. When I enter the back door the layout is easy to find within view for the many departments. There are two departments on each side, Treasurer, Clerk, Assessing and Building. All the clerks are friendly, helpful and assist quickly for my visit. In the lobby there is our local newspaper, info about GFL waste services plus newsletters or updates on the township's board meetings, any township announcements or issues which are naturally all free. Next door is The Macomb Township Recreation Center which offers swimming, exercise areas and different health classes for a resident fee and also a non-resident fee. I really don't need a membership at that recreation building , Since I exercise at home and throughout my day and week + in the summer exercising by doing yard work then using my own back yard swimming pool.
