This is one of those stores that you will leave with way more stuff than you intended to buy. I shop here often but this last time I brought my brother who has never been before. He was impressed but remarked at how funny it was they carried so many beach decorations in the middle of Indiana. We are hoping to relocate to Florida soon so I hope that's true of the Florida locations as well since we will be in need of beach themed everything. Everything is reasonably priced but I do have to have conversations with myself about what I actually need and what I don't while shopping here. My first apartment out of college was decorated a la Old Time Pottery and I was able to buy global decorations to represent different continents for each room - my living room had an African theme, my bedroom had plenty of French flair, and my bathroom was super zen. Coming into the store, hear the soft Christmas music play, smell all the Christmas goodness of wreaths, and all the colorful ornaments. As I looked over the wreaths, I noticed that the prices were not on all wreaths. An attentive sales rep, came to see if I needed assistance with the wreaths that I couldn't reach. Once the sales rep gathered the three wreaths I was looking at, I noticed they were beautifully overpriced and I thanked the sales rep for assisting me. She also gave a tip of how I D.I.Y. a Christmas wreath. I was able to buy some ornaments and hooks to use for this year's decor. I really like shopping at Old Time Pottery. It is a larger store with a nice variety of items throughout the store. They are a home retailer carrying some furniture, wall decor, cookware, lighting and rugs, bathroom goods, and bedding. Friendly customer service with affordable pricing. Great location for seasonal decor, florals, candles, picture frames, dishware and unique items. Ornaments, Christmas Trees, Garland, yard decor and oodles of Christmas decor are here. The sale prices are good as well after each holiday. I shop here when I'm looking for seasonal decor, glassware, bakeware, candles holders and hard to find items. This use to be one of my go-to spots for florals but the past two years the quality of florals has changed. There is a nice selection of wreathes and DIY projects. read more

I never leave OTP empty handed. They offer a warehouse full of home decor...including furniture, floral, kitchen/dining, holiday themed decor, lighting, wall decor and much more. I love that everything is well organized throughout the store. Lanterns have their own sections, as well as, vases of all shapes and sizes, mirrors are contained to aisles, furniture has its own area. My last visit was the day after Christmas and holiday decor was reduced to 75% off. Even Christmas ornaments were sorted by themes. I passed an aisle that was solely beach themed decor. It makes finding specific items so much easier. They have clearance items with as much as 90% off marked by a red sticker or red line through the barcode. I usually spend at least an hour every visit. Unfortunately, they don't offer any coupons or shopping via their website, but I've found them to be reasonably priced. This is a cool place to pick up fun kitchen things or floral decor items. I'm hosting a family reunion and trying to decorate on the cheap. I was able to get some tall twig things, Spanish moss and other things to make my tables interesting without a big investment. They also have fairly priced silk trees, which serve their purpose without spending an entire paycheck. I bought one and was very happy with it, but one of my cats didn't understand that it was fake and kept trying to eat it. I also like to get felt hangers here, which are a great price. read more

Really loved this store! My husband (then fiancé) brought me here for the first time. I had never heard of OTP, but he knew I'd love the place. I found the store to be pretty well organized (easy to shop with wide aisles) despite some areas being pretty messy. You don't have to worry about big crowds here; the store is so big we weren't bumping into people even if we were sharing an aisle with them. Prices were cheap on kitchen gadgets and books. There's a little bit of everything here; something for anyone. I didn't notice too many people on staff, so I can't tell you whether or not the employees are friendly. Nice large parking lot. The store itself is huge and I wish we had had more time to shop around. We now live in the Chicagoland area, so I'm hoping to visit on if the locations around here. read more

Candles and holders ranging from 98¢ to as high as $20 Pictures and frames of pop culture, kitchen designs, and floral as low as $6 Vases from 6 inches to 4 feet in every color. A row of lanterns as low as $1.50 Patio furniture pieces as low as $10-$100 I could go on forever. End update. I wanted to find a new place to go to conclude my birthday. I hopped on Yelp and found Old Time Pottery. I've always wanted to go because I had the hopes that it'd be cheaper than Pottery Barn. And boy was I right! You can't beat the prices. The quality of their quantity is amazing and made this bargain shopper very happy. I could go on and on about how amazing they are but here's just a quick list of the variety they have: furniture, rugs and accents for every indoor or outdoor room imaginable; crystal, ceramic and plastic dinnerware, kitchen gadgets galore, kids toys, tools and outdoor supplies, and last but not least GNOMES! The picture I'm attaching of the Gnomes was my favorite section. This picture represents how MUCH they have just for one type of item. And that's only a fifth of the gnomes. Just imagine how many different plates there are! A different item for a different occasion. The decor options are simply endless and can make an entire collection for a room. Also, if I was hypothetically speaking that my boyfriend and I might have been a burden, they have an aisle (as long as a grocery store aisle) JUST of wind chimes. I love old time pottery! You can find everything here. Usually for a great price! I always look for the clearance sections. There's always great stuff in there. When I say they have everything they have everything! They have decorations for every room in your house. They had rows of Christmas decorations for the holiday season. I found great Christmas gifts there. I never know what I'm looking for when I go in there, but I always leave with great stuff! The line takes a minute to get through but usually that's because the cashiers have to wrap the glass products. It's a pretty big place so it can be overwhelming at first but there's so much to see and look it. Plenty of options here! read more

Although I don't get over to this side of town as often, I have to admit that when I think of buying something for my home, this place is one of the first places I think of. Sometimes, it may be an outdoor decoration. Maybe it's a holiday gift box (I hate using wrapping paper!) The point is that they carry items that aren't like all the big box stores and this warehouse sized business has a huge variety to look over. Sure, it's not fine art, but it is affordable and allows me to go with a style for a while and then, if I change my mind, not feel like I've wasted money when moving on. They also have a large variety of glass and kitchen wares, floral arrangements (both assembled and components for when I feel artsy), and lots of holiday themed knickknacks. Every craft store has its own nooks and crannies. Here, I've found a $1.99 / 4 pack of small aluminum trays that can be used for baking or as a replacement grease tray on a Weber grill. Weber sells them for 6 bucks. Score! Your best bet is browsing after any holiday or season. Miles of aisles stocking of dishes, crafts, home decor and organized holiday above average kitsch. Grab some of this and a little of that. Plenty of ideas floating here you can capture and make your own. read more

I almost have a love / hate relationship with this store; much like I do with Walmart. But mind ya, I said *almost*. While I know a majority of whatever you buy in there is made in China like Walmart, it still has a certain odd charm. One thing I do like about it is that it us NEVER crowded or busy when I go. I really like that. Crowds don't sit well with me, especially unruly, impatient and rude crowds. I can usually mill about in the store like a zombie in a wasteland relishing the absolute and virtual peace. It's as sublime as it gets. The layout of the store us as simple and elementary as it get too. I can usually find my way around easily and get what I basically need. The store is a ghost town when it comes to trying to find someone on the floor who works there to answer a question. When you do manage to find someone, they seem to be basically helpful just the same. The help at the registers is very slow and archaic. When I checked out recently, the lady at the register didn't appear to be very sharp physically or mentally. What should have taken 5 minutes, took easily 10 plus. This is not counting the woman she was checking out before me. She was severely dragging and lagging with her as well. There were a few other employees congregated around another register nearby, but they never bothered to acknowledge us and open another register and relieve the line that was forming in my section. I fear that the general apathetic and lackadaisical attitude and flow in the store might be their eventual undoing. They could go down (bankrupt/close) just like Hancock fabrics did next door. That would be a huge shame. read more

There's everything from home decor, pillows, picture frames, curtains, towels, etc. To kitchenware, lawn decorations, and seasonal decorations. If I need Christmas wrapping paper in July I can get it here. Around Christmas time they tend to stock more gift-friendly items as well. read more

I come into this store thinking I am going to get some exciting deal on something I didn't know I needed. I usually walk out with nothing. The place is huge and they have tons of house hold stuff. I will walk around with lots of things in my arms then I get to the front to check out and there is a huge line at the one register. At this point I put all my stuff down and walk out. Clearly, I am not a fan of standing in line. When I get up to the line I look down at my arm load of stuff and realize I don't really need a new pepper mill, a tiny cast iron skillet, rawhide dog treats, scented candles, or kitchen curtains with chickens on them. The quality of the items is about 50/50, some things are really nice while other items should be at the prize counter at Showbiz. read more

The place is huge - so if you like to dink around and shop to kill time, then this is a great place. A GREAT place for bargains on kitchen, cleaning, and home supplies as well as all kinds of home decor! If you are getting started building a kitchen or decorating a home or apartment, this is the place you need to go. I was impressed by their selection of kitchen utensils, pans, and other cooking equipment (of a wide variety of brands) as well as bedding and pillows at closeout prices. It's not Crate and Barrel quality, but then again, you get a way better price than Crate and Barrel, and the merchandise seems of high enough quality to last at least several years. Mostly it feels like an overgrown Big Lots with less food and more fake plants. You can get great deals on dishes and home goods, but be prepared to spend a while looking, because this place is huge. Also, I feel like some items are of questionable quality, but some are obviously old stock of other stores. For example, my dish pattern showed up there about 8 years after I bought it. Which was actually great, because I could replace a plate that I broke and still have the proper number of place settings (for super-cheap compared to the original price, too). Basically, you just don't know what you'll find. Check it out, just wear comfy shoes and don't linger in the fake flowers (unless that's your thing). read more

I am in love with Old Time Pottery. We are currently updating our apartment and I had an urge to decorate. I need decor pillows for the couch, wood for a vase, you know nooks and crannies to turn a space into a home. I was able to find everything I was looking for and then some. I walked away with a lot of things to update our apartment and have a little dough in my pocket. I can see many HGTV fans (like myself) going crazy in this place. This is a pretty decent place for selection. Beware: be sure to look at the item before you purchase it! A lot of times you find damage when you get home and look at it. This isn't a very clean store, although, I do understand a lot of people come here throughout the day. OK, so I got a small Lodge cast iron skillet, which was exactly what I was looking for, and it was priced fairly, but the bulk of their stuff is cheap junk. If you're looking for, say, plain white dishware at a decent price, they're your place. If you want tons and tons of ugly wall hangings and tacky fake flowers, you cannot do better. (OK, maybe Garden Ridge comes close.) The place is huge, but the percentage of decent merchandise at a good price is fairly low. read more
