During the mid 1800's when Sacramento was just in its early stage of development, a single story brick building once stood on the corner of 28th / Capital Avenue. This building was built and used by John Sutter as an warehouse and distillery.
Sometime in the 1850's Phillip Scheld bought the property. A second story was added and"Scheld's Sacramento Brewery" was founded.
The building has been remodeled many times during its lifetime but the current architectural style "English Revival Facade" was done in the 1920's and was placed in the National Registry of Historic Places in Sacramento in 1982.
Businesses have come and gone throughout the years, but the soul of the building will live forever. So much history all around us ! Thanks for reading !
