It was a very hot day in Cagliari, but eating outside in the shade with a breeze made the experience very pleasant. We started with gazpacho (pictured) and we each had different pasta dishes- they were so good we forgot to take pictures. I would recommend any of there pasta meals, my favorite was the one with the mullet roe in the sauce. Can't wait to try again. Grazie Mille

My friend ordered a tuna steak and it came with zero sauce, way too rare (ie not even grilled on the top and bottom part, like rare tuna steak should be served) and extremely dry. We complained and they put a bunch of pinzimonio (raw oil, garlic and parsley) on it, which is not at all what tuna steak calls for. I ordered pasta with zucchini flowers and shrimp and it was barely so-so. Despite repeated complaints, they didn't discount one euro from the bill, in fact they argued that "that's how it should be served" (it isn't, ask any Sardinian cook). Truly terrible.

As a doctor, she was showing numerous signs concerning for COVID, and my concerns were shrugged off. She was sneezing and coughing at our table while taking our order, and on our food while serving. We asked the manager for another waiter and she kept on serving us. She forgot 3 of our items ordered as well as two orders for the couple sitting next to us. She also dropped our utensils while bussing the table. Clearly, she had no business being at work and the restaurant was ignorant to keep her there. The 1.5 hours between being served our appetizers and first course did not help either. Overall, we were at this restaurant for 4 hours to eat appetizers! At this point, we asked to not pay for the first course because we had no appetite to eat due to the sneezing and coughing, and this was met with a no. As a Sardinian visiting, I can't say how disappointing it was showing my new wife my hometown. 0/10 - would never recommend

Location, location, location .. fabulous sunset and city view that can't be beat! We shared dishes around the menu and enjoyed them all. Additionally, our waiter recommended a wonderful bottle of wine that we have sought out as we continued our trip. We did not like the extremely unfriendly service: people could be a bit kinder in the Sardinian hospitality industry, but maybe it's just a part of their charm.

Su Cumbidu is the place to go for traditional Sardinian dishes in the narrow streets of Cagliari…read more Despite being an island, Sardinia features many traditional dishes based on land animals, and a highlight entree here was the Maialetto Arrosto, or roasted piglet served with potatoes. The chunks of pork were tender, though the flavor was rather mild and the skin could've been more crispy--not the best version I've had. We also tried the Culurgiones, local pastas stuffed with potatoes and pecorino cheese, served in tomato sauce. The pasta skin was soft and chewy, and the filling was tasty too, though there was nothing too remarkable about this dish. The stew of the day (Sa Cassola de Oi) was made of chunks of sheep cooked with tomatoes and vegetables, but the sheep was extremely tough and the stew was very oily. We also had the sheep steak, which was perfectly grilled and topped with an herbaceous sauce. On the side, S'Insalada was a salad of iceberg lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, and smoked ricotta cheese. Overall, the food here was simple but decently tasty, and the service was quick and friendly. This was a nice restaurant to try out traditional Sardinian cooking, but nothing too culinarily remarkable either.

The table was sticky, the menus were greasy, and the smell coming from the kitchen should have been our warning to leave. After waiting an eternity for our food, what finally showed up looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp since last week. Everything was bland, cold, and honestly questionable -- I've had gas station food that tasted fresher. The server disappeared the second the plates hit the table and reappeared only when it was time to drop off the bill. No refills, no check-ins, nothing.
