The venue where the food and drinks were was big and inviting. They had nice bars set up. I am not sure of this is how this place is set up normally. I won't comment on the service, food and drinks because I don't know if that is directly from the venue. I do know that their security was not as thorough as they should have been. One positive thing is they have a LOT of women's bathrooms. It sounds funny, but you ladies know that when there is a concert, there can be long waits to go. As far as the concert area, this reminded me of a big nightclub. There are no seats for the general public. VIP area had some seats that looked uncomfortable. Besides that, there were not many seats at all and far too many people in that area. This venue is behind Wynwood Marketplace and honestly, it is a pain to get to if you are walking here from the Marketplace. I would come back but only for an event that seems worth it.

Recommend for: - Cocktail enthusiast…read more - Tequila or spirit nerds. - Fans of Larping, amateur acting, immersive experiences. - Wallflowers or introverts that prefer a little structure to ease into socializing. - Fans of culture and casual, accessible anthropology. Maybe pop anthropology? - Disney adults who miss Epcot!! Not recommended for: - People looking to get hammered (although that might happen). - People looking for a straight up party (the tour guides are professional actors & stay in character. You don't NEED to play along, but it makes it more fun. Interrupting the guides with party outbursts ruins the experience, the preparation, the memorization, & improvisation that is going on.) Caveat for tequila nerds. - This is an entertainment experience. And I think it's meant to highlight the diversity of tequila, especially for the non-initiated. This is not a tasting. Nor is it targeted to long time tequila connoisseurs. This is entry-level & fun. But it's also a marketing exercise for the Proximo Spirits brands. There is no discussion of detailed topics tequila connoisseurs focus on: -NOMs, -terroir, -additive free versus additive, -how commercial farming practices jeopardize sustainability, -the issues with celebrity brands, -farmer and worker rights, -independent distilleries, -how modern and / or industrial tequila production differs from traditional or artisanal production, -the difference from other agave spirits, -the regional differences, -the complicated history of tequila marketing in the United States. But, that's not bad. And honestly, if that were the focus of this experience, I'm sure it would detract from the experience & also from a wider appeal. The experience does a great job in showing the diversity in tequila as a spirit. And does a lot to elevate tequila and separate it from the non-sophisticated (but still existent) reputation as a party liquor. It's also an homage to Mexico's cultural traditions & intangible contributions. In a time where the public focus on Mexico isn't always favorable, this served as a welcome experience!

We went for the Sade tribute, and enjoyed the performers very much! As a Sade fan, They were really great and did her well. The downside was we walked over to the bar to get a glass of wine or champagne and was told there were only a couple soda options, water, and a couple of canned mocktails. Which I ended up ordering for $10 and hated it. If I recall correctly it was a licensing issue. That should have been something that we knew in advance. You go to a concert and expect to have some libations. I'd try the venue again if in fact the bar situation is ironed out as I was told it would be.

To begin, the team there is phenomenal. Javi, Ale, Alex, Kayla, Sherry, and the rest of the staff made sure that my husband and I had the most magical night of our lives. They treated me like I was family from the beginning of the planning process to the end, going above and beyond the call of duty to make sure we could relax and enjoy the evening. I felt like I was working with a highly trained Secret Service of sorts: -They used walkie talkies and ear pieces to communicate with each other throughout the night. -They anticipated our needs before we had them (making sure we ate first, bringing us drinks, holding my dress, escorting me, etc.). -They changed light bulbs, mopped up spills as they happened, ran to get cups when my caterer ran out, etc. This team made sure the event ran smoothly and resolved problems that weren't even their fault quickly! At the end of the night, Javi personally delivered some leftovers from the venue to our APARTMENT which was not expected but much appreciated. The venue itself is also gorgeous. It stands out from its peers through its Mission Revival architecture, and it boasts many different rooms, cool furniture, and breathtaking ceremony sites throughout the property. There isn't a lot you have to do in terms of decor/rentals/florals because it's just that beautiful. But you have to see it for yourself to appreciate the beauty. The photos I'm attaching (some professional, some from phone cameras) don't even begin to do it justice. Finally, this is one of the only outdoor venues (if not THE only venue) in Miami that allows you to keep the party going until 1am. My husband and I really wanted to have a long wedding and dance the night away, and this venue had no issue with that. They allow you to pay for extra hours and move you into a spacious indoor room at 11pm to get around the noise ordinance. It was exactly what we wanted. I would recommend this venue to anyone getting married. I have only positive things to say about the Curtiss Mansion and its amazing staff who make people happy for a living.
