When our dad past away in spring of 2023, the prepaid money lead us to use them again as we so much regret our decision. Examples include horrible communication, over billing our parents more than 1300 and forcing the family to go out on our own and spend the money on food for the event, paying us back with receipts provided. We ended up only spending about 800. 00 so the company just kept the money. Why did we even pay them money? Adding to the fact that when we had our recent burial of a father. The funeral home blew off the event and buried our dad before we got there. No presentation as paid for. They just have no respect for our family. This company is horrible, disrespectful and steals money from people.

We were preparing to say goodbye to a family member and had no idea what to do or what was next. I had no idea what her day looked like, but the day I called her she was there within hours ready to guide us, preparing us for steps A-Z. It was just a day or two after our first meeting she was asked to return to take the next steps, our family member had passed. Within hours of the call Katie returned, handled our loved one with respect and dignity. I would say after that Katie and Matt really shined; Obituary had to be written, death certificates had to be ordered, cremation had to be done and urn had to be ordered. My family met with Katie and Matt at Still Oaks to complete the set up for the wake, the building was perfect, the flowers as they came in were set up with such pride, you could see the love they had for their jobs. After my family left, I had a more personal meeting with Katie to order several pendents with the finger prints on them so that those she loved most could always hold her hand. Highly recommend this to keep your loved ones close. The few days of saying goodbye and the celebration were all done, it was the hardest thing I have ever had to do, but with Katie and Matt there, I was able to cherish the moments with our family. I was able to grieve and say goodbye in my own way. Without the stress of what is next. Since then Katie and Matt have both checked in on me several times, and even gave their recommendation on were to get the perfect stone. I also have recommended them to help another family as they were also saying goodbye. Hats off to the whole team, and if you find you too need a funeral home director, and want everything done with Care, LOVE and done professionally, Still Oaks is the place and the Roans are the team you want.

Katie was so kind and helpful to me during and after. I helped arrange another family membership services in MA and they never reached out after to see how my family was doing after but Katie did. She told me she was here for me if I ever needed anything just call her anytime. I was the one in charge of all the arrangements this time. When it happened the only place I could think of to use was Still Oaks. My family member that had passed had gone to services there before and somehow we talked about Still Oaks while driving by one day a year or so ago. We never talked about that is the place I want you to us but I felt like he would want me to. So Still Oaks it was. I called them that night and they were already expecting my call. We made arrangements for the next day to meet and start the process. Katie let me take my time and guided me through everything. She made me smile at a situation that happened and I knew that was my loved one all the way. I never felt rushed and was able to take my time. After the services Katie reach out to make sure I was OK and if I needed anything. I thought that was so nice. I really wasn't expecting that at all. I wasn't just forgotten after everything was done and on to the next. They really do care about people and I would highly recommend using Still Oaks. I cannot say enough about how wonderful they are. They made my worst days a little better and for that I am grateful.

The sadness, shock and overwhelming feelings were as intense if not more than losing my younger brother several years prior. My first call to this place was more or less to get information so as I had some options. I spoke to Buddy first. His voice alone was calming and encouraging and never once did he try to bargain with me and the other local competition. Instead, he verbally told me what I needed to do and when and if I called back, he would make sure he and his staff would hold my hand. I called back the following evening and got the answering service. My call was put through and I started to talk to Mike in more detail about where I was at in the process. He never made me feel rushed and allowed me to ask any and every question that I needed to. I decided to choose this home for all the services I needed but there was a little problem in the beginning with another local funeral home. Mike handled every call to the other funeral home and called me back after. The other funeral home, (Bernia) was extremely rude to me, never once spoke to me about my brother's death and then after I told him I had already made plans with Phaneuf, he told me "somebody was going to pay him for transporting my brother's body to his place." I never asked him to in the first place but anyway, that's not important. What is important is having someone like Buddy and Mike on your side during a time like this. They answered all my questions and when my brother, my two nieces and myself went there in person to complete the details, Mike was exceptional not only while doing his job but in a personal way. His energy was comforting and that is what is needed most. I didn't feel like I was in a creepy funeral home. The atmosphere there is what all businesses like this need. Thanks to Buddy and Mike both for being so kind. Thank you for taking care of me and my brother. Megan

Our family recently suffered the tragic loss of a young adult family member. As a result, both parents were the legal next of kin and should have been involved in making decisions regarding funeral arrangements and services. We worked with Phaneuf Funeral Home, where Mark Gomes was responsible for coordinating the arrangements. Unfortunately, due to ongoing hostility between the parents, one parent was excluded from the decision-making process. Despite making numerous calls and requests to schedule a meeting and participate in planning the services, this parent received no response. Calls were not returned, and requests to discuss arrangements were ignored. It was extremely disappointing to see a funeral professional choose to engage with only one side of the family while completely shutting out another legal next of kin during such a difficult and emotional time. We felt the situation was handled without the compassion, fairness, and professionalism that families deserve when grieving the loss of a loved one. I am sharing this experience so that others are aware of our concerns. While I sincerely hope no one has to face a similar situation, I would encourage families with multiple legal decision-makers to carefully consider how their chosen funeral home will manage communication and involvement among all parties.

They put it together and brought our group of four on a very in-depth tour. You will learn so much about NH's only president, about society at the time of Pierce's life and presidency, and what local homes were like in that era. Our volunteer was able to answer every question that we lobbed her way, even on things not directly related to the Pierces. Bonus: you can see the dress that Pierce wore as a child. My one quibble was that our tour guide seemed to dismiss our personal anecdotes that we offered that connected with what we were seeing, which was disappointing as I used to be a docent at a presidential library, and learned the most from people on my tours. She also was very short with me when she saw me taking some photos (non-flash!), but she hadn't told me that it was not allowed. Apparently there was a sign in the lobby but I hadn't seen it. Overall, totally worth spending an hour while you're in New Hampshire to learn some history!

To be honest, I knew almost nothing about Franklin Pierce when we went here and expected to be in the museum an hour or so......it is after all just a house he used to live in so how much could there be to see? Well, it was less about the house and more about what our docent offered us. She was so knowledgeable (sorry I have forgotten her name but she had a lovely Bostonian accent) and very happy to entertain our questions. We must have been there several hours soaking up all her knowledge and the stories she had to share. The Pierce's had quite a tragic family life. Having already lost one child in infancy and another as a toddler, Franklin Pierce began his presidency grief stricken by a tragic accident that took his older son's life. But, he had to deal with a country in turmoil and actually managed to accomplish quite a few positive things during his term. I was glad to come away from our visit with a much better understanding (and much more positive views) of our 14th President. I highly recommend this museum!
