Depending on how you look at it, it's taken me either 2 or 4 years to write my review. My father…read morepassed in February 2020, my mother in May 2022 and Phaneuf handled the arrangements; both were veterans. It was a very difficult time and the staff at Phaneuf were kind, courteous and compassionate. We primarily worked with Aaron and Mark and I can't speak highly enough of them. Again, the compassion they showed to me and my family throughout was more than I imagined. And exceedingly genuine. Their communication was exceptional, guiding us through the process with care. They followed up with me a few weeks later, after both services again expressing their condolences. Thank Phaneuf, for taking such great care of my parents and my family.

They did not know how to greet us or what to when faced with a logistical dilemma regarding removing my mom from our home. I won't go into the disturbing details but suffice it to say my beloved mom was not treated with an ounce of dignity or respect. When Sean was called, he was defensive, unapologetic and told us we were free to choose another funeral home. Thank God we did just that and we were treated with kindness, compassion and care at the other funeral home! The whole experience was terribly upsetting for myself and my siblings. Sean even called us minutes after our first contact using the website to ask a question, it was almost midnight. Sean and Gary were both very patient, answering the same questions multiple times since some things were not fully understood and we were dealing with a language barrier. My family could not say enough good things about our experiences with Goodwin. They treated us like good friends or family. Gary guided us through time lines, steps of the process, choosing a package to suit our needs, helped with the cemetery and made sure that everything happened as quickly as possibly so that we didn't have to take extra time out of work since we had to travel there from Texas. The building is beautiful and the staff are able to handle just about everything for you and what they can't do for you, they hold your hand through you doing it.

We had to ask everything instead of being guided from beginning to end, with some compassion for my grieving family. His attitude was the clincher. When I expressed my frustration he literally rolled his eyes at me. I got up & walked out. When I emailed & my brother called to speak to the owner, as I refused to allow this guy to continue with the arrangements, another funeral director intervened. The owner never contacted us over our concerns or to apologize for his employee's rude behavior. We needed support and compassion not a jerk who makes $ off of people's death!
