My 20 year old daughter ordered a fiberglass body kit and it was delivered to her in August 2017…read more She saw the truck arrive and watched the delivery man take it out of the truck. At that point, she asked the driver about why the box was open. She looked and pointed out scratches on the items inside the box. She helped him carry it to her apartment door and then said "thanks, I've got it from here". He said "no" and followed her inside, friendly-like so she tried not to freak out. Once inside with no one else present, he told her not to write anything on the form. Instead to take it up with the company she purchased it from. Since he was 300 pounds (ish) and 6 feet tall, and she is 5'2", she did as she was told. Conway Freight's owner told me he didn't recognize the drivers name while another employee did recognize the name. They refused to note on the forms after the fact that the customer claimed damage. Car-ID refused to pay to ship the parts back and the manufacturer says if we ship them back and they are damaged, we get nothing. So a college student is out $500. I suppose it could have been worse. Who knows what might have happened to a young woman alone in her apartment with a very large man had she disagreed. (We tried to resolve this for 4 months before giving up. Don't try calling- Conwar - their phone mostly rings and rings.)

Be careful when driving past any of their truckers!! One got off an east bound exit in Malvern,…read moreArkansas and cut across 3 lanes to get into a truck stop. When he did this I was already passing him, i was in the farthest left lane from him. I had to hit the breaks so hard my tail end started shimming. I drive a 2001 firebird. He would have destroyed me. I followed him into the truck stop to see what his problem was, and all he could say through a half rolled down window was "i know i know...sorry" and then rolled his window back up. I called the state police while still in the parking lot and this guy never even got out of his truck, he drove off back onto the freeway. When I called Con-way to report the driver the only thing the dispatch had to say was "I'll talk to him". No apologies, nothing. Thanks Con-way Freight, or actually the new company that just bought you, for nothing. Maybe had your driver actually ran me over you would at least then have raised your eyebrow?

I had an unsatisfactory experience with Crates & Freighters Little Rock (C&F) due to the web of…read moreoverlapping entities involved in getting something shipped from Little Rock to New Jersey. There were essentially four parties involved in the shipment: (1) me; (2) Craters & Freighters; (3) GlobalTranz; and, (4) UPS. If there are no problems, you wouldn't know this - or you would only know that UPS was the actual carrier. My problems started when UPS failed to make timely delivery. Because I was not the shipper, C&F was, I contacted C&F to address the problem. C&F directed me to UPS to try and resolve the issue. Additionally C&F told me that UPS had doubled the weight on the shipment - from 300 lbs to 600 lbs. I assumed that the $900 dollars I paid for the shipment reflected the doubling of the weight. Assuming that to be an additional problem, Jerry at C&F directed me to GlobalTranz which is the intermediary through which C&F negotiates with UPS. For the next six (6) weeks I spent a considerable amount of my time trying to determine if I had overpaid for the shipment and if anyone was willing to refund a portion of the shipping costs. GlobalTranz pointed to C&F, C&F pointed to GlobalTranz and UPS - round and round and round. Finally, at the 6 week mark, C&F told me that I was charged based on a 300 lb weight not the 600 lb weight that UPS charged C&F. I have zero reason to believe this to be true. I have given up, but I strongly encourage you NOT to use C&F, because if anything at all goes wrong, you will NEVER get it resolved to your satisfaction. I will say this: the crating and packing that C&F did was excellent and the shipment of china, crystal, and art arrived with only one broken dinner plate. That's the only bright spot in this experience.

I hired All My Sons on February 14th to move me from my 2 bedroom apartment to a nearby storage…read moreunit, and my experience was beyond frustrating and unprofessional. When I booked, I was told the hourly rate would be $135 (discounted from $149), plus a 12% service charge, and that my starting total would be around $300 before they even began. I was very clear that I did NOT need any packing materials because I already had my own boxes, tape, and supplies. I was quoted $486 for two hours including the service charge and paid a $100 deposit. The movers were scheduled between 8:30-9:30 AM but called at 7:30 saying they were on the way. Once they arrived, my paid time started while I was made to go through paperwork that should have been handled beforehand. The two movers, Thomas and Xavier started at 8:50. At one point, Xavier literally stood there watching Thomas struggle with my bed frame, and when I asked him, "What are you doing?" he replied, "Looking." That alone speaks volumes about the lack of teamwork and professionalism. Around 9:20 AM, I received a call from a company rep asking, "How is it going?" At that point, nothing had actually been moved yet -- they were still wrapping my couch, which I never requested. I didn't make a big deal out of it because it had only been about 45 minutes into packing and I didn't want my dissatisfaction to impact how they handled my belongings, so I simply responded, "It's going." In my bedroom, nearly an hour was wasted trying to take apart my bed because they didn't bring a drill -- basic equipment for dismantling furniture. What makes it worse is that after spending all that time on it, the bed was still left sitting in my apartment, along with my dining table, gaming chair, several boxes, and other items. I now have to hire another company to finish a job that should have been completed. Luckily I packed my own kitchen up even though they offered a free kitchen pack! They would have never gotten to it at the rate/speed they moved . Without telling me, they left my apartment and went to the next stop while I was still packing. The stop was less than half a mile away , they were supposed to drop a bed off and reassemble it. Because of all the delays/lack of urgency , the bed was only dropped off, not set up. When we arrived at the storage unit, I was told my balance was $861, including $135 for materials I specifically declined. I didn't argue -- I simply reminded them that I had already said no to materials and was told I wouldn't be charged. They removed it, bringing the total to $756, which is still far beyond what I was originally quoted for incomplete work. Nearly $800 for incomplete work. No sense of urgency at all! I should've have had a camera rolling but I didn't think that would be necessary. What upset me the most was the lack of accountability. I didn't receive a single apology, thank you, or acknowledgment of the inconvenience. Instead, Thomas got on the phone with someone named Holly on speaker, saying he needed to be paid for all his time. She giggled and said, "I got you, you're good," as if my concerns didn't matter at all. This experience felt disorganized, slow, and misleading from beginning to end. I will never recommend this company. Oh and I decided to take a picture of Xavier after about the 3rd time I walked in and he was on the phone.. I'm not a hard person and I hate babysitting grown people but I guess should have told them to leave the phones in the car and move with urgency!
