The young lady who took my order was friendly, got me through the line quickly and served my food freshly cooked and hot. I didn't go inside so I have no idea what it looks like inside but the outside was typical drive through. I really just wanted to get a hot dog and had thought about this place since I drive past it a few days ago, curious about how good the food was because my experience with hole in the wall places are that they have great hot dogs. But I couldn't help but notice the signs on the menu stating they are now using BEEF TALLOW to cook with and that's a 100% chance I'm going to order the fries too and if they're using BEEF TALLOW to cook with means they are using all beef meat (REAL MEAT) burgers too, so I ordered the Burger Combo AND a Hog Dog. I ordered the cheeseburger with extra cheese, pickles and mustard and the hot dogs "all the way". That burger was THIIICK! And they use the good pickles, not the cheap full of preservatives type. And Mr. Thickums was tasty too. Seasoned just right. The only thing I would change on the burger would be the bun. It was fresh but just not as good as it could be. The fries were also thick n chunky. And looks like there is some sort of batter on them. I've never had crinkle cut fries like these and the beef tallow made them so tasty. I wish they would make it a law that restaurants had to fry in beef tallow. No more seed oils!!! Just sayin. I would come here just for the fries. And the only thing I would change on the fries is for them to be cooked just a little longer. I like mine super crunchy. These weren't soggy or undercooked in any way, it's just my preference. The hot dog was very good. The bun seemed to be a better quality bun than the burger. Was fresh and had a good chew to it. The chili on the pup was a beef chili and not greasy at all. The slaw was good and fresh. And the onions seemed fresh. Overall a really tasty hot dog. The food here is way better than the Dixie Express on Dixie Ave that's for sure and service 100% friendlier as well.

So I opted for a Smashburger after asking how they liked it and she said it was "delicious". Well, it's not a Smashburger. It's a double burger on a nothing special bun. I was going to take the bun off and eat it with a knife and fork, and I was looking for those yummy crispy edges on a authentic Smashburger. They didn't exist. This was a double cheeseburger with very thick patties. I think they were grass fed so kudos to them for that,, but it was incredibly dry sadly, and when I saw that the bun had been toasted with butter, I put it back on and had a couple more bites, but was super disappointed-and trust me nobody loves a great cheeseburger more than I but now I love smash burgers as well!. I also ordered the Orzo cucumber and feta salad (as well as the french fries) on the side and while it was OK, it was nothing special. French fries were just meh. After all the stellar reviews I had I was very surprised that they would make a double cheeseburger and call it a Smash-burger-I wish these restaurants would stop doing that, it's misleading, other restaurants do this too. And for the money I spent, I should've just gone to Shake shack! I DO think it's worth a second chance, and I will say everybody there was very kind on the Service level and it's an adorable, really beautiful spot and vibe ! I strolled around and looked at the merchandise afterwards. So hopefully I'll be back but just super disappointed I didn't have a nice meal and left hungry.

No, I was pissed! Fast forward many years and I have grown to appreciate them. Over the years they have become one of my favorite hotdog places and if you read enough of my reviews you will know hotdogs are my favorite food. They have a daily special each day but it changes more than I can keep up with it so I don't know what the current specials are each day but give them a call. The hotdogs are great, biscuits and breakfasts are great. I know their pizzas are popular but I have not tried them myself. You can call in an order or do what I do which is walk in and order, you then go pay, they will stamp your receipt and you go back to pick up your food. If you want to eat on site, there is a carport with tables outside. Meet ya there for a hotdog!!! They sell my favorite Lexington Brand pimento cheese, chili and white slaw though it is lots of times all sold out til I get there. Stop in one day, you will be glad you did!
