I stopped by this place for dinner on Valentine's Day because it was the only restaurant (or what it seemed like) that didn't have an hour or two wait.
Once I got in, I was greeted by the waitress who was very friendly and seated fairly quickly.
The restaurant was about 1/3 full and filled with people who were from a much older crowd. I was seated towards the back and decided to order a traditional Swedish dish that consisted of diced meat (not sure what kind of meat though), potatoes, onions, corn and a gravy like sauce.
I also ordered a Swedish beer which had a fruity and light taste to it. If I were to compare it to American beers I would say it was like a Heineken mixed with a Corona. Nonetheless it was thirst quenching (although alcohol makes you more dehydrated).
Anyways once the dish arrived, it had a raw egg on top inside a half cracked egg shell. I do have to say the presentation of it was cute and it looked like something your mom would make on a cold winter night. The dish however smelled heavenly and I quickly dived it.
I'm not sure what made the dish stand out because it was such a simple dish but it was SOOO delicious. It was probably one of the best dish I had in Stockholm so far and leave it all to good old potatoes and meat.
I dumped the egg onto the meat extravaganza and stirred it in so it was able to cook for a bit before taking a bite. The beets and pickles complimented the dish very well as it was a great palette cleanser.
Overall, the dish was very well made and I would definitely come back here just to order that! read more
