Well, I wanted to check out the old Abilene museum, bit it appears it is closed, and we leave Saturday morning, so they can go whistle!

We took the time to drive around Wilson - looking for the other Czeck eggs and we found a lot of time. Worth the detour to see this 20' tall decorated Czeck egg.

Towering 20 feet into the air, the egg is painted in the fashion of Central-Eastern Europe's famous eggs. The pattern on this egg is a traditional Czech design. The project was commissioned by the City of Wilson to commemorate the area's strong heritage. Local artist Christine Slechta, who is a talented Kraslice (what the Czechs and Slovaks call these delicate works of art) creator, chose the design and painted it along with help from the community. Every part of the egg and surrounding gazebo is Kansas made. This is a labor of love from the Kansas Czechs to the world. Anyone traveling by Wilson on I-70 is encouraged to come stretch your legs in the shade of the egg. Wilson is also only a few short miles from Wilson Lake; which has the clearest waters in Kansas, as well as some of the most beautiful scenes. The community of Wilson also hosts an annual celebration of Czech Heritage the last weekend of July every year.

Lastly the food here was all around amazing, complimentary dishes, just for dessert it would be worth the drive, decently sized servings and all made from scratch. All around delicious and an amazing experience!

It had a very vintage feel and decor and also was connected to an older gym from a school. Yet, they made the experience and vibe of your dinner feel nice and elegant. They're only open on the weekends, so make sure you get a reservation as it filled up very fast! They serve your food through many courses so be prepared to stay and enjoy for a few hours. We enjoyed the company of our friends as the environment was very laid back and took our time. You start with options for appetizers, soup/salad, entree, and dessert. They even had complimentary, adorable palette cleansers between each course! (My favorite was the raspberry sorbet-super delicious). For food we had the artichoke bruschetta for an appetizer (very different than normal bruschetta but flavorful). We also had the arugula salad which I thought was really good! For entree, I ordered the stuffed chicken and was pleased and satisfied with the flavors. It could have come out a bit hotter, but was still good. My boyfriend ordered the ribeye, which was a pretty good size and said he thoroughly enjoyed! And for dessert, we had the cheesecake which was homemade and very delicious. The staff was also friendly throughout the night but, again, just be prepared to take your time as they tend to as well! Overall, I had a great time and really enjoyed the experience. I would definitely recommend and would love to experience again!
