Next stop, Van Gogh painting or ball of twine?

The battle for the worlds largest fill in the blank egg continues! Definitely worth the quick stop off Highway I 70 in the town of Wilson Kansas. The egg is quite large and there's plenty of parking. We stopped here when we were doing a cross-country road trip for some Instagram photos. Only thing that they need is a cell phone camera stand that is centered so that you can get quality photos with everybody in the picture it's very unique and quite hilarious looking!

Well yep it's a huge Czech Egg! A couple miles off the highway and the perfect place to get out for a leg stretch or walk. This little exhibit and park is so charming, as is most of the town. Worth a stop!

As the World's Largest, and possibly the only place on the planet that would display such an item, it is totally 5 stars. Actually, in comparison to other all things largest, a long running trend in this part of the country (ie, largest Ball of Twine in Cawker City, world's largest hand painted toilet in Lucas, the Garden of Eden, etc.), this is surprisingly well displayed and tasteful and, dare I state, truly artistic. It sits by itself in a park with plenty of parking, some bench seating, a display explaining all things Largest Egg, etc. So, now that they have the Egg, I'm hoping they'll do the World's Largest Kolache next. I'd so dive into eating that. If you go: open 24 hours a day, no admission, ample parking. Locals say people stop all times of day including in the middle of the night, pulling off from I-70 a few miles to the North. And why not?

How can I not give the World's Largest Czech Egg less than 5 stars? Can I give a Town that I'm certain Patrick Mahomes can throw a football from one end to the other, 5 stars? A town, probably not, but the hand painted egg in the tiny town of Wilson gets 5 stars. A woman painted the large egg , but also paints miniature replica goose eggs sold at the Wilson Mercantile. She also several other smaller Czech eggs around the town. I love Faberge eggs, hand painted eggs, Easter eggs. There is a nice amount of information about the WLCE next to it. It's really cool and sits across from the Midland Railroad Inn where I stayed. If in the Are don't skip Wilson. It's 16 minutes from Lucas.

Lastly the food here was all around amazing, complimentary dishes, just for dessert it would be worth the drive, decently sized servings and all made from scratch. All around delicious and an amazing experience!

What a unique experience!! Honestly that is how I can best describe my time here! We came with some…read morefriends while visiting town, and I absolutely loved the uniqueness of the building. It had a very vintage feel and decor and also was connected to an older gym from a school. Yet, they made the experience and vibe of your dinner feel nice and elegant. They're only open on the weekends, so make sure you get a reservation as it filled up very fast! They serve your food through many courses so be prepared to stay and enjoy for a few hours. We enjoyed the company of our friends as the environment was very laid back and took our time. You start with options for appetizers, soup/salad, entree, and dessert. They even had complimentary, adorable palette cleansers between each course! (My favorite was the raspberry sorbet-super delicious). For food we had the artichoke bruschetta for an appetizer (very different than normal bruschetta but flavorful). We also had the arugula salad which I thought was really good! For entree, I ordered the stuffed chicken and was pleased and satisfied with the flavors. It could have come out a bit hotter, but was still good. My boyfriend ordered the ribeye, which was a pretty good size and said he thoroughly enjoyed! And for dessert, we had the cheesecake which was homemade and very delicious. The staff was also friendly throughout the night but, again, just be prepared to take your time as they tend to as well! Overall, I had a great time and really enjoyed the experience. I would definitely recommend and would love to experience again!
