I grabbed the aluminum bar with bare hands to pull up but my shoulder was hurting and held on too long. I had a business trip to Macon as a Global Market Manager and went on the trip. I noticed in Atlanta my fingers were very swollen and turning purple. I knew I had to go to the emergency room or things could get worse. I went to Atrium in Warmers Robbins and they told me I need to go to Doctors in Augusta. They set everything up and I arrived and had surgery the next day by Dr. Homesombath. The staff is very friendly and try to put their patients at ease while here. They have two offices in Aiken and both are very sensitive to the patients needs and concerns. Unfortunately, I never received a response until much later. The only thing that seemed to happen promptly was collecting my copay. I've spent over $300 out of pocket, which is a significant amount for someone on a limited income. I do want to recognize the ladies at the front desk--they were always kind, helpful, and professional, and I truly appreciated them. About two weeks later, the nurse finally called me back. She was very nice and professional and let me know that my vitamin D level was low and that a prescription would be sent to my pharmacy. However, the doctor had already told me this two weeks earlier and said he would call in the prescription, so I was disappointed that it took that long for it to happen. My biggest concern is that my original problem still hasn't been addressed. I'm continuing to have a burning pain in my leg, and I still don't have any answers about what's causing it or what the next steps are. While I appreciate the kindness of the front office staff and the professionalism of the nurse when she finally contacted me, the delays in communication and lack of follow-up have been frustrating. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this practice.

Her nurse, however is slow to get back to us. The only other compaint is how hard it is to get an appointment. This practice services Athens and North GA, and they are always really busy.
