This event was fun! Located adjacent to the Freemont Street Experience and directly on the street in front of Commonwealth and all the other cool bars down here, this event is located in a great spot with so much going on.
Free to enter. A $10 wristband must be bought if you plan to drink at the event. They sold tickets on their website in advance for a deal (buy a $10 ticket and got the wristband plus a 16 oz. beer included). The bier mark coins they give you to redeem for drinks (if you purchase them) are adorable and festive; nice touch!
Loved the Prost Las Vegas sign and the two stages set up. One of the stages had many stein holding competitions with a host and dancers. Did see a polka band play as well!
They had some games like keg bowling and hammer a nail into the wood. Festive and fun!
For beers, they had basic beers like the Samuel Adams Fest Beer, a Sam Adams lager, and a few others like a cider and truly. I would love to see this event add more German beers as that would really make this cool for me.
They did have some food offerings, like a sausage platter and a pretzel. I did not see any giant cookies or cookie necklaces. I hope they expand the German food offerings in future years to offer more variety of German foods.
Loved that they included the Dachshund Derby in this event and I really want to go to that next year! I missed it this year but the recap I saw of it looked adorable! I saw a few of the dogs still there later in the day and enjoyed seeing their outfits.
They did have some local vendors set up that was kind of a hodge podge of things - Jardin the cannabis dispensary, a beer bottle candle company, a stand with Oktoberfest attire, jewelry, clothes, etc. I would really like to see this expand to include more German arts and crafts like cucko clocks, etc. in the future.
I really like my light up flower crown that they were giving out on Sunday evening. :) So cute.
Overall, this event was a good time. It wasn't the most authentic German Oktoberfest I have been too, but it was still fun to have in Las Vegas. I would like to see this event grow in authenticity and size over the coming years. A nice festive happening to have in Vegas. Thank you! read more
