Thank you to the team at OVS for taking on our Charlie last night/early this morning. Charles Xavier our elder cat, decided for new year's, we needed a late night trip to the emergency vet. Thankfully, OVS was open and able to look at him, to help us figure out what was going on with him. Thank you to Dr. Golden and her team. According to the vet tech we had, she said he was one of the most cooperative kitties they have seen and was nuzzling up to everyone he could. Well by the time we left shortly after 2 am(having arrived at after 10pm), we had answers about what was going on and medicine to administer. We got home about 330 am, and hit the hay.We discovered during our visit, that they did not accept the AllPet card.OVS you might look to that for your clients, it is a real blessing for a pet only credit card .Once again, thank you to Dr. Golden and the OVS crew for being so attentive and informative with us about what Charlie has to look forward to. read more

We went there in the wee hours yesterday because we suspected our GSD had bloat. They were friendly, professional and thorough. We were not expected to pay anything up front. We did have to give them permission to x-ray, which I appreciated. They were super sweet to our dog, the service was very fast, and they explained everything to us in detail. Luckily our girl did not need surgery and our total cost was very reasonable. I would absolutely go there for services in the future if my regular vet was not available. read more

I'd recommend going to another vet clinic unless it's an absolute emergency. My dog had a hotspot on his neck, so I paid $642 as a deposit before they even did anything. Then they throw you in a waiting room after you already paid them & make you wait. I was in the waiting room for 2.5 hours with zero update or any time estimate. It's an emergency room so if your pet isn't in immediate danger then they'll make you wait. Eventually I decided to leave; I got a refund but $100 was missing for the "exam" they did on him. Which was essentially just weighing him & looking at the hotspot for 15 seconds. So I wasted $100 & almost three hours of my life for nothing. This is the first time I've ever felt the need to leave a negative review of a business, not great. read more

Had to take my dog in there on a Sunday for what turned out to be a broken toe. The place is very clean and professional looking. Physicians assistant did a really good job with preliminary analysis. The veterinarian herself, (Dr. Loveless) was thorough and great. Highly recommend the place for urgent care services. read more

Angela was our tech for our Cocker Spaniel ,Bandit tonight. He had a split dewclaw and she took him right back and took care of him and such kindness and efficiency. They have never failed us. We have taken our dogs there for years and they even helped us with one that had to cross over to the rainbow bridge.... They were so kind and respectful giving us all the time we needed saying our goodbyes with a follow up card mailed to us sending their condolences. We were supposed to go there for a blood transfusion only. They wanted to do even more tests that the better ER had done before. Our kitten had FIP but the person there said that she wasn't convinced it was FIP but they would treat her for FIP. She even said that we didn't need the transfusion. We took her somewhere else because this place was trying to rip us off and had misdiagnosed my bf's sister's cat in the past. If they just gave my kitten a blood transfusion she may have had a better chance at surviving through the FIP treatment. We may not be vets but we knew that she for a fact had FIP. The first place we took her to was a lot better with their diagnostics. The only reason we came to OVS was to have a blood transfusion because the other place didn't have blood donors atm. They wanted us to leave her there for tests that we already had done at the first place. There are better vet ERs than OVS. read more

After seeing 2 or 5 stars I feel compelled to give my very positive review. My dog Cooper had a hump on his rump, it was big and it was cancerous, he is a Golden Doodle and only 6 years old and as anyone reading knows how important your pets are, I was worried. They suggested I take him to get radiation to reduce the size befroe any operation but the places that could do this told us that they could not get him in until a month away. We called back to OVS and told them this news and they siad that was too long but the surgeon felt like she might be able to save him, they set him up for surgery 2 days later (mind you, this all started just 5 or 6 days prior meaning I took him to my doctor on day 2, then to OVS on the 4th day, calls on the 5 & 6th day and calling OVS who scheduled him 2 or 3 days later the surgery was expensive no doubt but I love him and was able to afford it and her confidence gave me hope and the surgery resulted in a clean removal with no need to do post radiation! I will forever be grateful for this service to extend his life....and the outlook is that he will live out his normal lifespan. I take him riding in the car more now after realizing I might only have months to be with him before the surgery I cherish him even more and he acts like nothing ever happened....he hated the cone we had to put on him for a while and I was glad when he finally experienced its removal and knew this was not going to be what his life was going to be like forever. My friends dog had got bitten by a snake and I loved him dang near like my son. they had told my buddy that he was okay and sent him home after a coupler hours of care in there hands and "monitored"... and he passed after a couple hours of him being "cleared" and sent home.. I would never recommend this place to anyone. As confident and reassuring as they are don't believe them.the people that work there are literally only there for a check, not personable or respectful. I came in this morning to get my dog seen after she was having diarrhea and blood in her stool. Front desk was very helpful and polite. They had a tech come out and assess my dog to take her to the back. I have work and asked when she would be seen. Tech was so unprofessional and rude, she told me that they do not give wait times, which is totally okay, but she was so rude and had so much attitude while giving me information. I was very unsatisfied with the tech that was going to be taking care of my sick puppy. I decided to have her taken somewhere else. Look I don't know if she was having a bad day, but she definitely didn't help make mine any better with my sick puppy. She had long black/brown hair and glasses. Brought in our Husky 2 weeks ago at 3 am. we were handed a $1,400 bill before he was even treated. We felt like we were being asked to act like doctors to pick and choose what needed to be done for our baby. What we needed was a seasoned vet that has seen thousands of animals with various symptoms etc to help guide us In a strategic, practical, smart way. Our sweet puppy boy is now dead and between 2 top vets and $2,000 spent, we still don't know what killed our dog. One vet said a bulging disc and the other said diabetes. Then we find out he has a raging UTI that could have been treated by both of those vets 2 weeks ago. A $5 bottle of antibiotics could have saved our Husky. Devastated is an understatement. Hydration, antibiotics, and pain medication should mostly likely be what 99% of these little guys need to get better quickly. Charging $11,000 for a 3 day hospital stay should not be a decision that terrified pet owners are presented with. My dog should not have been a science experiment. He should have been diagnosed properly 2 weeks ago with the basics by a seasoned professional that cares more about saving pets' lives more than making $. My dog suffered for 2 weeks and then died and never had to. Devastated is an understatement. I am extremely angry. Do better. read more

My dog was there for hours before they gave him any sedation and he had just been in a dog fight. They took him back and 3 hours later asked if it was ok to sedate him!! I thought he had been sedated right when we got there. If I had known they weren't going to do anything for him for hours I would have taken him somewhere else. I understand there were other emergencies. I didn't expect them to stitch him up ahead of some dog that needed immediate care but someone could have given him an injection so he was at least comfortable while he was waiting for his turn. I would highly recommend this hospital for the loving care given to your pet. I was referred to this hospital by my regular veterinarian for the care of my cat, Tim. Tim had a mass in his left nasal cavity that my regular vet did not have the tools/equipment to reach. On April 23 I brought Tim in for his consultation with Dr Pratt. Not only did Dr Pratt recognize the urgency for care of Tim, she moved her schedule around for the following day, April 24, to do the necessary procedure that Tim needed. I can't say enough about this place. I was referred to OVS by my vet for bilateral knee surgery for my small dog. The surgeon spent all the time I needed to have all my questions answered and in the end recommended I not have the surgeries done at this time, explaining her quality of life is not being negatively affected. NOT a 24/HR Emergency Room. OVS says, "Our state-of-the-art emergency vet hospital is staffed 24/7 to ensure that your pet receives immediate attention in any crisis." When we arrived at 5 AM one recent morning, the lone doctor couldn't operate basic diagnostic tools such as an ultrasound machine. The ultrasound doc didn't report for work until my dog had been there for 5 hours, and the surgeon's shift started 9 hours after his admission. My dog died on the table after waiting 9 hours for care, not because OVS was busy but because their claim to be "fully staffed" is a misrepresentation and false claim. An emergency room is meant to provide immediate care in critical situations - not just pain relief until the experts clock in hours later. OVS can provide palliative care - pain meds and X-rays - but they do not provide what you picture via their misleading claims of 24/7 state-of-the-art care. This is not worth paying a premium for, nor does this type of over-promising, under-staffing provide good outcones for animals in distress. read more

This review is negative just like my experience with Oklahoma Veterinary Specialists. My first experience was great. Pup needed surgery as she had cancer in her neck. Had surgery immediately. She came through healthily. I was pleased. Terribly expensive. Years later, noticed she was slow moving, lethargic, and would drop her head on the floor when she was laying down when she would look up or try to set up. I knew something was terribly wrong. I was out of town went to a local vet he told me I needed to get her to a specialist as soon as possible she was hemorrhaging. The vet I visited called vet specialist to let them know we were on our way. Upon arrival, called to let them know. At this point I had no idea how long she had been hemorrhaging. When I called to let them know I was there they told me I had to make a payment before she could even enter the building. My phone had no reception where they're building is located and couldn't get through their website to make a payment. I had tried numerous times with no luck. I called inside the office no one answered. Called again several times no answer. At this point I am frantic and worried sick about my puppy. Finally got a hold of someone. They came out to the car I told them what the issue was without having service and cannot make a payment could I come inside to make a payment. She said I had to make a payment through the website and that was my only option. I was so upset I told her my puppy had been hemorrhaging for I don't know how long but they wouldn't give her any medical attention because I couldn't get through to the website! I went off I was so mad. This went on for about 45 minutes. They took the puppy in but again would not give her any medical attention until I paid. which I totally understand but not at the risk of losing my pet! Finally I was able to make a payment and call to let them know the payment had been made and again told them how upset I was for letting my baby lay there and bleed out because of payment. After about an hour I called to find out how she was and if she was getting medical attention. I was told she was not having medical attention yet. I wanted to know why I had driven her 2 hours supposedly to a specialist while she still laid there hemorging. Total and absolute discussed!!! After several phone calls I finally had confirmation she was getting the medical attention she needed. They need to have a better set up or have Wi-Fi or have something where patient's parents can make payment quickly and easily without the sacrifice of their pet being in misery or heaven forbid losing their pet! They're supposed to be specialist and top of the line. How might puppy was treated it was below but any pet should have to go through. I will never never never use them again or recommend them to anyone ever!!! Horrible experience my pet was not first priority by a long shot, but their specialist? Unacceptable and the way my puppy was treated is not okay. So go to them at your own risk but I will never return there. The prices are too high, I would say, to pay for their facility in my opinion. These people rob the pet owners ignorant or desperate enough to go there. My service dog was vomiting and pooping blood. I have no car or family close enough to help, and most friends live far away, work, or also lack transportation. I called an Uber and rushed to the closest 24-hour veterinary hospital. It took roughly six hours to be told they could find nothing wrong and discharge my dog. They charged me $2,000 for the the ultrasound, diagnostics, an anti-nausea injection, and SIXTEEN PILLS of a PREBIOTIC I could have bought online or in a pet store for LESS than $20! But these people charged so much, they basically robbed me, all without using a gun or mask. WHO DOES THIS?! I'm 65, living on Social Security and a tiny, tiny monthly IRA payment (this IRA will reach zero in 5 years.) I am so disgusted by the vets working here. I've been contacting all the review agencies and business groups and consumer groups to complain and warn others about how these people overcharge and take so little concern of people and their pets. Wasnt an entirely horrible experience... I took my cat in because she was very lethargic, hasnt been eating, and hiding. They gave her an antibiotic & that was about it. I took her to my vet the next day & they told me the antibiotic that was given was best for skin conditions... which was not close to anything that was concerning. The vet also recommends her being hospitalized so she can be watched and on fluids. So not only did they give her an antibiotic that wasnt helpful to her, they didnt even think to watch her & get her hooked up. The $$$ that was spent was absolutely not worth it. I have not received one call from them but you can bet they won't miss billing me over seven hundred dollars for nothing. if she was In danger of dying, why dear God didn't they keep her!,,,,,it's all about the money there. my heart is broken. they could have saved her .... animals are special and important in our lives.... it's a devastating loss and a permanent memory that does NOT go away. BEWARE I brought my 1 year old pup here after hours because he was lethargic and wasn't stable on his feet. They told me he could have gotten into something or could have a brain tumor and suggested they keep him overnight. I don't as obviously concerned and said ok. They came back in with the amount it would cost for the overnight stay and it was $2300.00. I was floored. Ive had a dog stay overnight before and it was never that high. I realize this is 24 hour care but this was highway robbery. I told them I could not do that. she then asked me what I could do and I told her I could maybe do $500.00. she said she would have to check to see what they could do for that and left and came back. They gave us an antibiotic and sent us home for $525.00. I did appreciate the antibiotic because my dog was ok the next day, but I could not help but feel like I was buying a used car. read more

Worst experience ever. I went in for end of life for my dog. She was almost 15 and quality of life was no longer good. They take my dog to have an IV put in her leg. While I'm at the counter I am ask to fill out a form asking me to list everything wrong with my dog and what my visit was for. I refused to fill it out since I expressed the reason for my visit when I arrived. I paid for the service and was with my dog til her last breath and went home. The next day I receive a call from Eternal Memories. No idea who they were and they needed money to cremate my dog. Long story short, the vet had me sign a paper after I left the counter and while I was in the room having my dog euthanized. They waited until I was an emotional mess to sign the paper. Nowhere on the paper did it disclose a fee. I would never take a pet here. They are about the money and not the pet. Awful place. I would give less than 1 star if I could read more

Dr. Hodges is extremely thorough and truly cares about his patients, even with the covid restrictions he goes above and beyond to make sure the pet and owner are happy with the visit. Zoe needed an echocardiogram and usually I am hesitant to send her into vets offices alone because she is my baby. I felt completely at ease knowing Dr. Hodges had everything under control and wanted what was best for Zoe. The techs are doing a fantastic job with the curbside drop off and are very friendly. I will definitely be returning to this facility if I need diagnostics done on either of my dogs. read more

My dog was diagnosed by my local vet as having fluid in his abdomen. They recommend taking him to OVS for emergency surgery. At OVS he was admitted. The vet that saw him joked with me about how my local vet mis-diagnosed my dog and said he had pancreatitis. The next morning another vet said he indeed did have fluid and he died during surgery....which didn't happen until after 2PM. Upon research of the initial vet, I found out that she had her license suspended for 2 years. Don't make my mistake- find better care for your pet. Their life might depend on it. read more

My first experience with OK Veterinary Specialists came when a complete quack of a vet claimed my chocolate lab Kelso had laryngeal paralysis when he was undergoing a therapy dog evaluation. As LP can be a death sentence, I was understandably beside myself. Kelso was rejected from the therapy dog program because he had "a high risk of death" from laryngeal paralysis. At this point I was freaking out!! After much worrying and research, I called this facility as Dr. Ricker was reputed to be the foremost expert in the state for LP. To my shock, he actually got on the phone and discussed Kelso with me for about 10 minutes! It was then that I learned that the only way to diagnose laryngeal paralysis in a dog is to put them under anesthesia and actually observe whether the laryngeal flaps are opening and closing properly. So that Vet who simply did a visual exam could not have known whether Kelso had LP (although they did offer chiropractic therapy to "treat" Kelso's LP. That should've been my first clue). Kelso had a scheduled dental cleaning with Dr. Russell, who is a veterinary dental specialist in Tulsa - while he was under anesthesia for that procedure Dr. Russell determined that the laryngeal flaps were functioning in a perfectly normal manner. By that time I was so convinced that Kelso had LP that I actually argued with Dr. Russell about the diagnosis. But whew! Kelso lived to be almost 15 and passed with his laryngeal flaps in perfect working order. I was very grateful to Dr. Ricker for taking the time to speak with me and explain the particulars of the disease. It likely saved a lot of money and trauma for Kelso in that he did not have to undergo an unnecessary procedure to try to determine if he had LP. This year, our Labrador Lucy's eyes started getting cloudy. We were referred to ophthalmologist Dr. Pucket at OK Vet Specialists. Due to COVID we were not able to accompany Lucy to be examined but she was diagnosed with corneal ulcers. Dr. Pucket was very communicative and helpful. I sent a follow-up question about her medication by email a month or so after her final visit and the office responded immediately to my question. Note: you do you need a referral from your primary care vet for ophthalmology appointments. If you are lucky enough to have a senior dog, you will probably eventually need some sort of veterinary specialist. And I give this facility and staff my highest recommendation! read more

My husky was treated for seizures at the emergency ER. They seemed to not care at all about our budget. Saying the only thing the can do to make it lower is to send him home with us pumped with all this medications that we didn't know how he was gonna react. After discharging him the next day reading his papers at home we find out he has a seizure in their care when we were never told about this and we called/they called multiple times to check on him and we were told he was just fine with no seizures. Then they sent him home with medication for every 8 hours but didn't tell us when he was due to have it next. We had to call them to ask. I will Never be taking any of our animals here at all. I dont Recommend this place what so ever!! read more

I took my 6 month year old kitten I just got from a shelter and they would NOT take his papers && important medical History!! he came in for tremors and he we couldn't figure out what it was but the vets just drugged him up and charged me a arm and a leg to tell us nothing and to do nothing to help him. It could of all been fixed that day but they wouldn't look over his papers and kept scratching their heads for the answers, when I begged them to take his papers from previous shelters which had the answers. No care. Called last night about bringing my kitty in, as he did not look good. Spoke with a man who told us not to bring him in. I agreed. Then the kitty got worse, so we decided to take him in anyway. We filled out paper work and waited. Turns out the guy who was supposed to see him was the guy who answered our call. So he recognized our situation and refused to treat or even take a look at the kitten because "I told y'all over the phone not to come". So he sent us home. I understand if other pets needed more immediate attention but the clinic was not busy and the way we we're treated was rude and unprofessional. ONE OF The ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCES OF MY LIFE!!! My pet started having seizures during the night. Didn't want to go because I know how these places work or don't work. Got there and they treated us like we were there for a vaccination clinic. No ER CARE AT ALL inspite of the acute onset of seizures. My poor baby had a seizure while there, and they still did not administer emergency care. We were there from 3 1/2 hrs in the middle of the night! They did nothing. I begged the entire time for them to administer emergency intervention! Finally at the 3 1/2 hr marker the large, obese nurse with cranberry hair dumped my baby at my feet and walked away. My pet was limp and barely whimpering in the pet taxi. While driving him to another vet he had another seizure. This location took IMMEDIATE ACTION, did emergency intervention and took us ahead of at least 40 patients. They did CPR, oxygen, IV meds, intubated him. . My baby DID NOT SURVIVE! BTW they never came out with their clipboard asking me to sign to allow them to perform each lifesaving procedure. They just did what needed to be done to save a little being. RIP My love, I'm sorry I took you to this awful place. read more
