Rating a two because I wasn't able to be seen here. Given the fact that the quality of dental care…read moreand the providers could not be evaluated, I believe a rating of one wouldn't be fair. This review is soley based on customer service due to inconsistent information when it comes to accepted insurance. I was referred to Endodontic Associates by my dentist, and I contacted their office on three separate dates, about insurance. My first call was to inquire about the insurances EA accepts. The staff member stated a few but stressed that she really couldn't know for sure. I asked if they accepted Humana, and she couldn't give me a yes or no answer but that I would need to call my insurance to verify if EA was in network. As a medical biller, I totally understood that this uncertainty happens due to the astronomical amount of plans and third-party affiliates. So, as advised, I contacted Humana insurance to verify if EA was in network. They asked for the name of a provider, I gave Dr. Duke's, and I was asked if the address was 4500 Memorial Circle. The agent also named the other providers and stated that "Yes, the providers at that office are in network." After speaking with Humana, I contacted EA for a second time, on June 26, 2024 and spoke with a different staff member. I asked if they accepted Humana Loyalty Plus DPPO, and she kindly told me that she was unsure and that EA has to contact the insurance plans to verify network status when they aren't sure. She further stated that I would need to contact my plan to verify if EA was in network. This was consistent with the first staff member and totally understandable, as I have to regularly contact insurance plans for network status myself. Having already spoken with Humana, I also used their member portal to search for in-network providers, and EA's providers were listed as in network. So, I enrolled in Humana's Loyalty Plus plan. Great! (See images.) Unfortunately, when I called EA to schedule, I was back to square one. I spoke with the first staff member from my original call on June 11, 2024. However, this time, she was quite confident that EA was out-of-network with my insurance company. When I explained that I had been advised twice to contact the insurance about network status and that my insurance has EA listed, she politely replied that "all the girls know we're not in-network with Humana...I don't know why they would have us listed, but if you call your insurance back, they will be able to recommend a provider that is in network." Obviously, that stung because I had already taken her previous advice and the advice of her fellow employee and had done just that. I had contacted Humana and verified that Endodontic Associates was in-network. It is okay if EA doesn't accept Humana, but I chose Humana specifically based on EA's in-network status. I really wanted to see an endodontist at EA as referred by my dentist, and I could have chosen another insurer. Please request that Humana has your practice removed, especially if your staff advises callers to verify network status with their plans.

I don't get a root canal everyday, thank God, so I don't know how pleasant it should be. I can say…read morethe office is nice and clean. The techs were not what I'm accustomed to. One didnt know what the bony tori in my mouth even was....might need more training. The other didnt care and continued to insist I bite on the x ray film with all my might even when I told her it feels like Im biting on razor blades. She grabbed me by the fat under my chin, shook it and told me that if I would just relax it wouldn't hurt.....you cant relax a bone to my knowledge. My mouth was all torn up by the time I left there. One tech did an additional xray without covering my body with the apron. My mouth hurt for 10 days, but I didnt think too much of it because the xray films were cutting me up. I noticed what I thought was a canker sore on the tori and decided I was going to take off the little white piece because it wasn't healing up..... Lo and behold! It wasn't a canker sore...it was a shard of what was probably tooth material embedded in my gums! Lots of blood came out of the hole and up from my gums under the tooth once I removed it. But man! My mouth felt much better after that! Im sure this isn't the way they typically work, but it was my personal experience. Wish I had a better story to tell!

In my opinion the treatment that I received was based solely on my skin color. I was talked to like I was not even human I was told one price but was charged another and mind you I paid out of pocket CASH no insurance no payment plans nothing then for the dentures to not even be made correctly. At the initial consultation I was told that permanent dentures were included in my total pricing but when i went to the appointment that was set for them to be made permanent there was a sudden charge, how ?. So not only am I walking around with "healing dentures " and not the permanent ones I was told came with what I paid I now have to go to another dentist and come out additional money to get permanent dentures. I would never recommend this place to anyone, not even an enemy that's how bad and horrific my experience was with OKC Smiles !
