Applied on their website for a boat loan (pre-approval), 780+ credit score. I think the terms were 20k for 144 months. With the pre-approval I had planned to spend roughly $10k-$15k only and not actually take a $20k loan but still wanted to get a higher pre-approval just in case. Had me answer a few questions over the phone. Told me it looks like it's going to get approved regardless but they still needed the few missing blanks. Was notified shortly via-email after giving the missing information that they wanted to add in my wife as a co-signer, I said no. Ended up telling me being a home owner is required for a boat loan so they couldn't approve me. Probably the first time I've heard something like this and makes no sense lol. I've done car loans, personal loans that were 2-3x the amount I requested on this pre-approval and was never a home owner and had no issues getting approved. Not sure if this is something OCCU requires but it was never stated on their application and my credit score was already pulled/dinged only for them to tell me I needed to be a homeowner. big bank vs little bank, i went to the bank today with momma, who uses 2 locations for the purpose. however, because the particular location, from which she withdraws cash, was not open, she elected not to drive to the other bank today for transferring money to an account. nevertheless, i'd never been to that bank before, and acknowledging i've never before seen the musical 'oklahoma', besides on a tv program, nor know of any other specific plot of land with tall grass, such as that to which refers the lyric, "where the wind goes sweeping down the plains," i'm now identifying grass underneath the bank sign as the favorite plot of grass for me, a resident of oklahoma. read more

We were attracted by the high 6% interest rate of the checking account. However, OCCU's onboarding is not thorough and disclosures are not easy to find on the website. In order to get the high interest rate, you need to made 15 atm debits. One would think these debits need to be make per statement cycle but they must be done "31 days preceding the 27th of each month" . Why can't they just say 27th-26th? Why not make it 1st-last day of the month which would really make it simple? Also, why must so many atm debits be made to qualify? I'd think they would discourage money transfers out of the account. I asked this question and they could not answer. I am grateful for the opportunity to earn 6% interest but my suggestion to OCCU is to please make the timeframe on the disclosure less confusing by actually putting in the date 27th-26th and an example for folks such as April 27th to May 26th. read more

This is the worst bank I have had to deal with. The customer service isn't very good the hours aren't good the loan rates are higher than most other credit unions or banks and they will try to give you a fee for anything they can. There are much better options around town with better rates and won't try to fee you for everything. read more

Lending staff apparently don't know what they are doing. I had a conversation with a representative at the CU and had questions about Heloc loans. Based on that conversation I specifically applied for a fixed heloc loan & checked the box that indicated Manufactured Home. It took 2-3 weeks for the Lending officer to tell me "We don't do these types of loans" Thank you for wasting my time. Dis-satisfied customer. read more

Avoid this place for any of your financial needs, I'd rather go to a payday loan place before them. Based on their customer service alone they should be rated at below a 1 star. They're terrible about following up as they return calls about 30% of the time, poor communication with their members on issues that the member has reached out to them about, the severe lack of empathy is frustrating, and if you pay for services that they offer you better make sure that everything goes according to plan as they'll stick you with the bill if there are deviations. They are not a reputable company. There are better financial institutions in Oklahoma. read more

If your looking for the worst financial institution in the USA, congratulations you have found it. We have had a loan here fore a little over 5 years, and man, has it been a rocky 5 years. They require a membership with the loan that requires a savings account to avoid extra fees, which is total B.S. We were told that they didn't have auto drafting so we had to mail a check. All was well for about for about a year. Then they quit receiving payments by mail. So, then I get smart a start to send the payments by certified return receipt mail, just to make sure they receive them. Then all the sudden they start receiving them again on time. Then in another six months, they quit receiving the payments after signing for them. Of course, I get an excuse of we must have misplaced the check, then told to send another check, without a late fee being charged to the loan. So, I send another payment. After they sign for the new check they miraculously find the other one and deposit them on the same day, now I have a double payment taken out of my account. So, now I am on the phone again trying to get this straightened out with Oklahoma Financial & and having to cancel the double payment check from another financial institution that I wrote it from. All this time from year one, I try to see if auto payments are able to be set up yet, still the answer is no.. This goes on for the remainder of the loan. Here's the kicker, there is 2 months left on my loan, I am still dealing with these payment issues, I finally get a bank manager to talk to me, he states that he can set me up on auto draft, I asked "Oh, you finally got auto draft?" He states "We have always had it." Then he emails me the form. Lmfao right? Well after the loan is paid in full and closed he states that he would close the savings account and mail the check from that account. Did that happen? What do you think? NOPE! So, here I am again calling emailing and trying to get my money back. After over 2 months after I have my account paid in full and savings account charged monthly fee's, I am told the check is in the mail. Fingers crossed!! read more

First off, I've been going to this bank for at least ten years. My parents started an account for me, when I was born, 23 years ago. Lately, I've figured out a bunch of bogus rules that make me want to transfer to another bank. 1. They close at 6pm everyday (That's when a majority of people get off work or are stuck in traffic). 2. Only specific locations are open on Saturday AND close at 12 or 1pm. (Sometimes not even open, due to random meetings). 3. You can't have less than $25 in a savings account or they charge you. 4. If you lose your debit card or have it magnetically discharged, you have to pay for a new one and wait for a long period of time. 5. Even though you can put a stop on your debit card for not going over a certain amount, it does NOT work. 6. It taks forever to sign up for an account. read more

Adams.  I have had a few loans with this credit union presently and in the past.  I located a 2015 Honda Accord  that I wish to purchase for my daughter from a dealer here in Tulsa.  We submitted on line application, She is currently on one loan, and was contacted as approved.  My daughter, being the smart young adult that she is, determined that she could not afford the payments and insurance at this time.  Since the vehicle is $5-7 thousand under retail book, and my Son is currently driving a 2002 ford Explorer pushing 150k,  I decided it would make a good vehicle for Him and my Daughter could drive the explorer.  So....once again we submitted an application.  Since it was a Sunday  I called the next day( Monday) to insure the application was received.  I was told Yes.  Now the Application has His social and the vin. of the vehicle on it.  My Son also has a had a loan with me at your credit union.  I waited a day....no call.   2nd day.... no call  So I decided to call. On the 4th day of calling,  I was told underwriting has it and we are waiting on an approval.  Fair enough since We were trying to get it in just his name.  We checked his credit score 758, 2yrs on job, 2yrs at residence, and a yearly income of 50-60k, but limited credit. so a week passes and I decide to call again (  week 2 ).  I was told he was approved.  I asked for interest rate and was told that since He was on the note by Himself, that information could only be released to Him , Understandable.   We had also contacted the bank where His check is deposited and also gave an approval, but we wanted to compare interest rates.  So we proceeded to get insurance, which 1 month had to be paid up front and made an appointment, had all the necessary paperwork, current pay stub, DL, SS Card, to get loan done on the following Saturday, 10AM.  My Son works in OKC, so I informed Him He was approved,  and that I had paid the insurance,  and we can sign the loan papers on Saturday,  and swap vehicles.  GREAT  ........ NOT     When we arrived, after a small wait, loan officer helped us.  First she couldn't our application...... Found it....She stated the SS # was wrong, OK we have his card, FIXED,  then she couldn''t find the vehicle. OK ...  I had a picture of the Od and vin on my phone.  She then stated the Vin was wrong.  Hmmmm,, Now this vehicle has been in the system 2 weeks with 2 different applications both approved.   STOP  she said,  it has a branded title..... and underwriting will not let Her loan on this vehicle. What we were approved ? I tried to explain that  No it doesn't !  I explained is has a Dealer buyback due to a Ck-engine light due to a fuel pump, but has not been wrecked is still under factory warranty till 36,000 miles and the powertrain is covered until 2021, and we are purchasing way under book.   Since it had already went to underwriting I did not understand why now we are now not approved.  "Well I will have to contact underwriting on Monday 5--7 "   Needless to say I held my cool till I was outside, but I was quite MAD!  Before we left their parking lot, I recalled BOK and spoke with the loan officer who I had contacted before, who also had the vin# and didn't see a problem, but the interest rate was a percent higher.  Today is Wednesday 5-9 almost 3 weeks..I have yet to hear from loan officer or anyone else from this place of Business.  I would like someone .... NOT loan officer ..... to contact me  Since I feel we have been forgotten. I removed the associates name and replaced with loan officer. We have been working on a car loan for days. We started with one employee and he dropped the ball, second employee contradicted everything the first said. After 2 meetings at the Credit Union, we have had numerous emails and phone calls with them to get everything the "underwriters" needed. We got the money and two days later they are still trying to fix their screwups to cover their rears! These people need some serious training!!!! read more

I started out as a customer of Williams Credit Union back in 1996, and rode through the change to WilServ and finally OCCU. They are no longer the financial institution that they once were. I closed all of my accounts several years ago, after they removed my overdraft because of a single timing error on check deposits when I purchased a car. Even though that was the only overdraft and I made over 80K a year at the time and the clearing deposit came in 12 hours later, they would not restore my overdraft after over 2 years of waiting and requesting. I kept my credit card with them and still use it occasionally. For the past 4 or 5 months I have been mailing in payment early and their system did not then auto-draft my account at the end of the month for the minimum payment. Until January 2019, I mailed in a $600 payment on 1/18 and then they decided to also draft another $95 on 1/29, which caused me an overdraft fee. Wasted 16 minutes on the phone, no ownership, no apology, no help. Was told that is how their system works, I asked why it hadn't done that for prior 4 months and was told changes normally took 2 to 3 months to flow through. Now I remember why I got rid of all my accounts with them, and will drop this credit card as soon as it is convenient for me. Suspicious that they hide or have removed themselves from Google reviews. I do not recommend Oklahoma Central Credit Union to anyone, for any need. There are far better alternatives available. read more

I am furious!!!!! We have been customers of theirs for more than 15 years, bad & good but changing banks is such a hassle we have stayed. We are officially done. We have been intentionally deceived in relation to loans & now they have 'oops' lost all the money out of my 15 year olds account & refuse to replace it! They literally said even though it is their fault, their hands are tied. Long story Late July someone stole (through atm) all my daughters money from her account. We came home from vacation to a voicemail informing us. We call & confirm it was not her & request a fraud form. They get us form, She fills it out, I take it in, they say she did it wrong. I get new form She fills out new form we turn it in. We keep checking, funds are not replaced. I call, oops we gave you wrong form (twice!) I asks for correct form & they email it. Penny Deatherage sent me a new form. I print new form & she goes to fill it out. Find it is already filled out by another bank customer & it has his info on it!!! I tell bank, whoops. They FINALLY email new, blank, correct form. She fills it out & I take it back. Nothing happens. I call again & they say "oh sorry, it had to be taken care of within 60 days, even if it was due to our mistake, our hands are tied." WTF!? So I call back yesterday demanding to speak to main bank manager. I get to talk to Earlena Ward Communication Center Manager. She says she is going to look into it. She emails me back this morning saying that I need to fill out that same damn form again and they "will look into it". I told her that I just turned one in 2 weeks ago. She says they lost that one as well. Unbelievable! Ummm ok representatives of the bank walk around town handing out 50$ prepaid cards to random holiday shoppers. Just random people, not even bank members. But they can't replace 65$ to my teens account that she is out because of their incompetence! I wonder if the customer you gave me his account number and and all other personal information would like to know what has happen. I have his name and number still.............. . Beware! Don't EVER get a loan from this bank! They will NOT work with you if you get behind! We were told by the manager in the collection department that as long as I was on bed rest (due to pregnancy) that were we're fine paying ONLY half of the car payment every month until I was able to go back to work. We received a repossession letter in the mail today and when I called he's telling me we have until the 30th to the pay the rest! Are you serious???!!!
