Why would I choose to eat at a Japanese looking place for my first lunch in Barcelona? Well not YELP as I'm the first review. I was so jet-lagged, cramped from the tiny little space I was wedged into for the flight from Philadelphia, so tired and worn out, that stumbling out of my hotel, I just ended up here. It has a Japanese name, but the owner operator only looked vaguely Asian and he spoke fluent Catalan and Spanish. They have a full line of sushi and a couple of other Japanese dishes but everyone eating here (all locals, no tourists) were eating the standard tapas, paella, or ham sandwich offerings so I got a seafood paella. It was absolutely awesome, but I couldn't trust myself because in my condition I might have mistaken mediocre for excellent. But after 10 days in Barca, I have to say with plenty to compare with, the paella here is top notch! Good prices, great location in Gracia near Parc Guell but not so near it's got inflated prices. Stumbling distance from Hotel Ronda Lesseps. Comfortable sidewalk seating. read more
