The escrow agent is not willing to prorate our final water and sewage charges. The deed transfer was incorrectly recorded as 5 days later after the actual closing date, which resulted in our paying the buyer's usage of water/sewage for 5 days between the closing date and the recorded title transfer date. Neither Cuyahoga County nor Cleveland Water is willing to correct the closing date. The escrow agent is supposed to ensure buyer and seller pay fair share of expenses. In our case, they stick to one rule which is unfair to us as the seller. They know very well how the county recording office works and should have allowed enough time for recording. Claiming timing of deed recording is out of their control is just an excuse for negligence. The deed recording office also confirmed that it was title agent's responsibility to deliver documents by mail in advance or in person on the closing day. After several days of calling/emailing all the above agencies and filing the complaint with BBB, Ohio Real Title finally offered $100 as a courtesy. So I'm changing from 1 to 3 stars. Also this is a lesson for future home buyers and sellers in Cuyahoga County Ohio. Specifically request your title escrow agent to deliver documents on or before the closing date no matter which one you use. read more

this title agency had multiple typos and errors in my legal description on the deed, thank goodness I checked it against the vesting deed or I would have an invalid legal description of my property. Then after finally approving the deed and signing it ( for confirmation at closing), they changed the deed and EXCEPTED OUT THE MINERAL RIGHTS prior to have the Sellers sign it. They never approved this with me. Now I've been having to go back to the title company and they keep telling me it's not relevant because they don't think the sellers owned minerals. They can't prove that though so I've now filed a better busines bureau due to this fraudulent closing. Go anywhere else ...because there were so many errors and blunders, they didn't know how to handle VERY basic title matters and the little they did now puts a cloud on my mineral title. I had a terrible experience with this company. I've used 3 title companies the past few years and this company by far caused the most stress and busy work. I would strongly recommend hiring an attorney if you end up with them to review all of the documents. They are also more expensive than competitor companies. The buyer wanted to use them and I reluctantly agreed. I will say that they are responsive but I didn't find their responses helpful and they get quite defensive. There is no reason to choose them in my opinion given excellent service by other title companies like Gateway Title. read more

While I appreciate that they sent a guy out to meet us for closing, he rushed the documents and rushed us through the process. They didn't get us the documents ahead of time to review. And on top of it, they also miscalculated our closing costs, causing them to redo their calculations and ask for more money after the fact. Sloppy calculations, rushed closing... I highly do NOT recommend using Ohio Real Title, though if you are stuck with them, then I highly recommend you double check ALL calculations and if you're forced to rush through the documents, force them to wait to ensure everything is correct. read more

I just have to say this 1st- the customer service is AWESOME! They answer onthe very 1st ring. I mean really who does that? It's 2014 I'm supposed to go through several robot voices before I get a human. LOL OK. on to the review: I'm in the process if buying my very 1st home. I called this place from a recommendation I received. I filled out the online form and received a call the very next morning! I spoke with Judy she was extremely polite for 8am. She inquired about my purchase and also answered every question I had. She even took time to explain the home buying process to me. I received emails and updates every step of the way. Wish I could give zero stars. A coworker referred me to them back in 2012 or 2013.. I dropped them fairly quickly, I had three deals in a single month completely mismanaged, and I reached out to the owner Ryan Marrie each time and he just blew me off. Completely ignored. Their prices are high, since then I do everything I can to protect my clients from Affiliated Business Arrangements, or simply known as ABAs, whereby the agent gets legalized kickbacks and picks vendors not because of quality of work and good pricing, but because the agent makes more money. Last time they would not even match pricing with a different title company. $450 a side escrow is a terrible price, especially for poor service. I see from reviews here, Angie's list, BBB, and elsewhere that I am far from being alone in this. read more

While I appreciated them sending someone out at 10:30PM when I was finishing working to close on my home - I must also advise if you are corralled into having to use Ohio Real Title out of Painesville, OH for your closing, please make certain you take the time to review EVERYTHING! I do mean EVERY SINGLE DOCUMENT AND FEE! In my opinion, they are quite lax in their calculations, attention to detail and instructions on procedure. Take the time to review your closing costs for accuracy and watch what monies they are "holding back" and why. Example: I had a pest inspection done 2 months earlier, my real estate agent and I both provided them with a copy of the receipt. Here it shows up in my closing documents that they were going to issue a check to the pest company! This was already paid by me upon services rendered! Mind you, the receipt was not good enough for them. I had to show them my cancelled check in order for them to remove this from the closing. I also encountered an issue with them refunding the $200.00 deposit they held for water. I emailed them and then called on 9/26/18 and was told I needed to provide written proof of a final bill and proof of payment in full. Note: I never received a final bill as Ohio Real Title issued a check #166240 to pay the $50.87 on 9/7/18. This payment hit my account on 9/11/18. I still haven't received my balance of $149.13 from them. A "Marla" had no clue and a "Tina V" needs to look into this! Unbelievable. Anything to hang onto your money! Never again... read more

Called the company business 5 days in a row and could not get anyone to call back. Shelley was not prepared and never had the right information to provide me. On the day of the closing, the notary public was late because she was given the incorrect telephone number and address to our home. The paperwork was a mess and the notary public walked out in less than an hour. We did not close on our home. Horrible experience for a first time home buyer. I would not recommend. read more

The title co says hey will come to you to close yet when we set a place to close with dawn we were very disappointed. First she was late,did not introduce herself or shake hands, did not appoligaze for being late, then asked why we didn't meet at a place closer to her office. Made rude comments through out signing of the papers, when we asked when we would get the deed to our house, she said you don't need that ,for what? I asked again when we would get it she said it would go to the bottom of the pile and would be months before we get it. All in all we would not reccomend this title co,un professional,rude ,and uncaring. read more
