We ordered 46 bags of mulch to be delivered to our home. Delivery took place on the day we requested, and was unloaded where we asked - however, when we unwrapped the skid, we discovered we were shorted 17 bags. Called customer service on a Sunday, actually did speak with someone. Thy are going to try and get the rest of our order delivered on Monday. This is the first time I've tried ordering mulch and having it delivered. I'm not impressed. UPDATE: We reached out to Ohio Mulch late today (Monday), and the manager of our local branch delivered the missing bags himself this evening. So, I had used Ohio Mulch 3 years ago and promised myself and my wife I would never do business with them again. So....... I thought hey, it's been 3 years, they are in business still, they must have straightened out their issues. Well, not much. I ordered bagged mulch 2 weeks before I wanted it. Scheduled for a Monday. Waited till the afternoon that Monday and called them and asked about my delivery. I was informed that their driver was out sick so they needed to reschedule. (I called them remember). We agreed on Thursday. So, Thursday at noon I call and ask when my delivery is coming. They say driver was out sick Monday and Tuesday and they are backed up but my order was staged and they were waiting on the driver to return. I call back at 4:30 and and informed oh, we didn't get it out. It will be in the morning delivery.... Friday noon, I start calling, waiting for the driver to return it will go out. Friday 4:00 or so, I call an and ask where it is....... Uhhhh.... I ask for manager and and told to call an offsite person. She listens to me... Unsympathetically, says she will call me back in 10. She does call me back in 30 minutes and tells me it will be on morning truck. So, at noon I call and ask where it is. They say the guy is in my drive..... I look and he was.... He was friendly and put the 2 pallets (200 bags) of mulch where I asked. Moral of this story? Just don't as k these guys to deliver anything....... Worst customer service I have seen. No attempt whatsoever to call, email, or text me to set expectations, apologize or communicate in any way. How they stay in business is a wonder. read more

During our first (and second), my bf and I were fairly confused about how to go about purchasing mulch here. You drive past Rightway Nursery into a huge mulch-made barracks with walls of bagged cypress, pine, and hardwood bark forming its parameter. We both got the sensation that we weren't supposed to be here. Is this place self-service? Will someone come to our car to help us or do we have to track someone down? So we drove around until we saw the type of bagged mulch we wanted--premium pine bark. Not seeing any staff members around, we threw the bags in the back of my bf's SUV and drove to the front of the nursery to pay. Then we were told that Ohio Mulch is a separate entity from Rightway, so we drove back to the little trailer that served as Ohio Mulch's office. We were initially annoyed that there weren't any signs to make it more clear about what the purchasing protocol was. It wasn't until my second visit that I learned you pay for your mulch first, then give your receipt to a staff member who loads it onto your car. Each bag of organic pine bark mulch (2 cubic feet) was only $3.69, which was cheaper than the poorer quality stuff we'd just bought at Home Depot. Next time we purchase mulch, we'll probably go the bulk route. Though they don't sell the pine bark mulch in bulk quantities, the premium hardwood variety is only $28.99 per cubic yard. Ohio Mulch has three locations in Ohio, which are located in Symmes Twp., Tri-County, and Sharonville. Though my initial experience with this landscaping specialty store was somewhat exasperating, I definitely choose Ohio Mulch again when I need to spruce up my yard. read more

Hello! I am not one to post much on here but I wanted to share an ongoing experience with Ohio Mulch in Burlington. I was supposed to have rock and mulch delivered yesterday the rock came but the mulch did not. I called yesterday and was told the mulch would be here today. No problem I understood. Today at 2pm still no mulch. I have called there 4 times thoughout the day and each lady I spoke today rudely tells me it was on it's way. I still dont have the mulch. The manager is supposedly coming by my house tomorrow verify I dont have it. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE- I KEEP GETTING TOLD THEY ARE 175% SURE THE MULCH IS IN MY DRIVEWAY. I WILL NEVER GIVE THEM ANYMORE MONEY!!! I purchased gift cards to support them in the off season knowing I would be buying a good amount of landscaping supplies this spring. I purchased over $800 of supplies. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY!! I wanted to share so no one else has to deal with this when they are trying to landscape. read more

The review started off as a one star; I showed up at 10 on Sunday July 3rd to get 1/2 scoop of top soil. No one was there. Waited for about 30 minutes and still no one. My project would need to wait. I went back on July 16th and no bulk top soil; the guy gave me a great deal on bagged top soil. The gentleman that was there explained the problem of getting material. If it wasn't for the July 3rd of no one showing up; this would be a five star review. read more

I used Ohio Mulch in Burlington KY for the first time amidst the Covid19 mess. I sat in my car awhile in their parking lot because I was finishing up a phone call. An employee came to the car asking if I needed help. I needed a LOT of topsoil. He loaded up my SUV as I went inside to pay, showed him my receipt upon leaving, and was on my way. The employees were all very nice and helpful. I'll return! read more

I had a hard time giving this place even a 1 star!!! I have never gone to a place of business where the employees are so rude. They have no idea of the prices or even when they advertise a sale price. We went in there the other day to buy mulch and told the guy behind the counter of the sale price , I was swore at by the clerk behind the counter and threatened with bodily harm. I then waited for the manager to come back from lunch and told him of my situation, he never even apploligized for the situation. The manager has no idea at all on good customer service, If he did his employees certainly would not treat customers in this manner. Great mulch at a good price...okay. But their delivery is pitiful. We have gotten mulch there for years, putting up with late delivery or no delivery at all on specified date. TODAY they were due supposedly between 11-1. Did they? NO. Did they call us to explain? NO. Did they show up at all today? NO. Will I ever ever ever do business with them? Absolutely positively NO. The difference between the customer service at Ohio Mulch and Jones Topsoil is night and day. We've actually had them both out to give us gravel today. Ohio Mulch didn't seem to know much about their product. For example, they said a cubic yard of 57 round stone was "about the same amount as a ton." Jones Topsoil explained clearly that a cubic yard of 57 round stone equaled 1.25 tons. This made a difference in the amount we needed to order. Jones was also cheaper. And, I must admit, the "SlingerJones" was pretty miraculous (well worth the extra $75.). read more

I just got 8 cubic yards of the ultra premium something or another super mulch. I have been a home owner for 23 years and getting bulk mulch every yr. always from Evans before, but could not get it delivered that morning so I thought I would call Ohio mulch....yea the delivered it with in a few hrs. Big mistake, so much garbage in it I had to keep a garbage can with me the whole time. Every shovel full had Atleast a quarter size pice of aluminum or plastic. Even had laminate counter top pieces. Lots of chunks of partial board too. Never again.....do yourself a favor and get it from Evans. read more

My experience as a green industry professional has not been a positive one. We have found them to be extremely unreliable, and difficult to do business with to say the least. When opening a new commercial charge account it took weeks to get us into the system. The manager of this location has poor customer service skills, and does not understand how poor service will affect the company bottom line. Lastly, their pricing is not even competitive. There are far better sources for the exact same products with other local companies. Don't throw away your money, and expose yourself to unneeded hassle. read more

I have been using Ohio Mulch for bulk mulch deliveries for about 10 years. Their mulch is excellent quality and a reasonable price. If you only wish to purchase the bagged mulch I would have no problem recommending them. However, if you are ordering a delivery out of the Burlington location, DON'T DO IT! I had delivery scheduled for a Friday. I called them on Friday around noon and was told the delivery truck needed a part. I should expect delivery either that day or the next (Saturday.) No Delivery, No Call. On Saturday I called them around 10 and was told my mulch would definitely be delivered that day. I asked them to call me when it was on the way. No Delivery, No Call. On Monday I called around 9:30 and was told my mulch was on its way. It was finally delivered about an hour later. It was at least 2 cubic yards less than my order - looked like it and after spreading it my fears were confirmed as I had a large portion of my yard bare. I called their office and told them. I was informed that the manger would be told and would call me back. She Never Called. I finally wrote a letter to their headquarters and got things straightened out. I have had problems in the past with their deliveries as well, but this was the first time I was ever shorted on my order. Perhaps the other locations are fine, but since I have to use the Burlington location I'll be trying a different business from now on. read more
