The salon can be completely full and still be strangely quiet. The TV is kept so low you can barely hear it, there's no music, and there often isn't much conversation. What you CAN hear very clearly is the owner yelling or arguing with employees. She will sometimes yell across the salon from one side of the room to the other while speaking in another language. Even if you don't understand what is being said, you can clearly hear the yelling and tension.
It's hard to "mind your own business" when these interactions are happening loudly enough for the entire salon to hear.
After multiple visits, I've personally witnessed the owner raise her voice at different employees enough times that it seems to be a pattern rather than an isolated bad day. I've also witnessed interactions with clients where she comes across as irritated, rude, or unfriendly. My friends and family who have also visited this salon have told me they noticed similar behavior as well with their visits.
Getting your nails done should be relaxing and enjoyable. Instead, the environment can feel tense and awkward when you're sitting in an otherwise quiet salon listening to the owner yell across the room or argue with employees in front of customers.
I've given this salon several chances, and after repeatedly witnessing the same behavior, I personally wouldn't recommend it based on the atmosphere and management. The staff deserves credit for continuing to be friendly and welcoming despite the environment.
In a matter of being in there for 2 hours or so, I witnessed several if not all staff get yelled at.
She also snapped at me several times and me and other clients just stare at each other in disbelief in silence. The owner needs to be retrained to be professional. I love the staff but I'm not giving this owner anymore of my money and neither should you. I hope the employees here aren't held captive because I'm not sure how they can handle this toxic work environment. I don't know what they're arguing about in their own language but by the tone it's very tense and loud and very uncomfortable as a client to witness. I don't think the employees need training, I think the owner does. read more
