Home made from scratch, we tried many of the dishes and we haven't been disappointed at all. The head chef William Sarazin know what taste and flavor means. What an amazing lunch !!! On the front of the house, things got even better, Matthieu, our host, server and also owner took care of us from A to Z. Very knowledgeable in food and wine pairing. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Contemporary rustic décor. The environment is laid-back yet elevated. The bar area has a first-come, first-served seating which is great during peak times without a reservation. A seasonal menu in flux with an emphasis on elevated traditional French cooking. It is apparent that fair amount of effort went into finding and retaining top talent. It is always refreshing to experience a meal being served by the owner. The wait staff knows their menu backwards and forwards. Bottom line: If you are looking for a laid-back fine dining experience that is sure to satisfy your taste buds, look no further. After a week of eating every meal accompanied by either a block of cheese or stick of butter this was a nice and healthy break from the heavy foods I had been eating the entire week. The best part was the food was incredibly delicious mostly in part due to the organic vegetables used. There is seating available outside on the street as well as inside (which is air conditioned as a bonus!) The owner of the restaurant was nice enough to translate the menu posted in the front of the shop into English for me. We ordered a few items off the menu: - Emulsion of Tomato: I absolutely adore gazpacho and this is the best that I've had in a long time mostly due to the small hint of heat in the dish. This was my favorite item we ordered off of the menus. - Vegetable Box: This is the first vegetable dish I've had in France which doesn't just consist of sauteed vegetables in butter. Each of the vegetables in this dish was expertly prepared and delicious. -Tartine: On top of a grilled piece of bread, a melody of warmed vegetables. The poached egg on top added the perfect amount of gooey-ness to the dish. The restaurant does offer meat dishes but they know how to prepare vegetables to bring out the best flavors in them. It seems very typical of French restaurant to not begin serving food until around 7:30p so mistake on our part! When we came back at 7:30 half of the restaurant was already full but the owner gestured to a table which was reserved for us. I think what was most impressive is this restaurant is a one man show. The owner is both the chef and the server and is able to do everything for the restaurant at the same time. While we were dining, many locals stopped in to get to-go salads or tabbouleh which really shows that this is one of the best spots to go to in Le Mans. For food we ordered a charcuterie plate, gazpacho, vegetarian salad, and an aperetif. All the food was extremely delicious. My favorite was definitely the gazpacho which had the perfect amount of kick to it. I'd also never had melon with my salad with spices on top, the mixture of the sweet and savory was amazing. I will definitely be back here if we are in Le Mans again. The service we received was amazing, the food prices were reasonable, and the food was impeccably delicious.
