We were…read morereferred to CMA by my sister, whose kids had been going to Dr. Yano for years and she always spoke very well of the practice. At the time, the only doctor available was Dr. Morita, who we loved instantly. It's been 7 years and she has been so wonderful with our children, very patient, and she relates well to the little ones. Our oldest is autistic and struggles with going to the doctor but she's always so easy-going with him, is super flexible with his comfort levels, is always on top of where he is at with his autism services, and offers advice and referrals whenever needed. Our little one (4) loves going to see "Dr. Dorita" and when we drive by the building, he shouts "my doctor's office". Dr. Morita's assistant, Daniel, has also been amazing, he's always so good with the kids and very patient and calm when my son freaks out about shots. He's usually there as soon as we walk in and will just wave us into the room. We have never had to wait more than a minute or two, which is a relief when you have three kids who won't sit still. I haven't really had to deal with the front desk staff, usually we just talk to Daniel or Dr. Morita, so I can't speak much to that area of the practice. We also really like that there is always a doctor available if Dr. Morita is out. The other two doctor's we've seen there have been really nice and equally as patient with our kiddos. We're moving out of state and are going to miss Dr. Morita and Daniel very much! We highly recommend you take your kiddos here, they've been so wonderful to our family!

I emailed my concern about her attitude and got nothing but her short comment. "Unfortunately, Lani is off on Thursday's" Everyone is usually patient when you call, but this young staffer "dahna" needs to learn how to treat clients.

Shortly after switching to her care my son was taken off two medicines he had been on for almost a whole year. She looked to solve what was really going on, which took a few visits, rather than use drugs as the first means of treatment. My son quickly shed many side effects and got off the meds he was on for way too long. This happened because she asked questions and suggested different treatments based on her knowledge and experience. A visit to her office doesn't always require a visit to the pharmacy immediately after, which I find to be a good thing. Dr. Tamamoto has a very nurturing and playful bedside manner that my son really enjoys. She can quickly calm him down and make him laugh when he's anxious about a treatment. She is a kind and genuinely sincere doctor who is quite good at what she does. I highly recommend her services.

She is very warm and kind (and yes very busy) but she does take the time to answer your questions. I always feel comfortable with her and although my daughter is now more aware and cries when she has her doctor appointments, Dr. Alyson is very patient. Her office is located in the Mary Savio Medical Plaza. Easy to get to and plenty of parking.

He listens to your concerns and actually agrees with what you may think your child has. He is very open to listening to your concerns. (i.e. my son had acid reflux and the medicine was not working and I suggested maybe upping the dose and he listened and it worked!) Most doctors are stubborn and would not listen or try something you think may work. Parking can be a hassle sometimes and the stalls are tight, but it's free. The front staff can sometimes not have a personality but it's ok. They are moving soon across the street to the Mary Savio building which will be great because of their huge parking garage.

That means if you already have a child--even just one, like me & want to switch to a closer doctor, HE WON'T TAKE YOU. Staff says he's unable to take new patients because he's "full"... however he would take me if my son was unborn? Full-of-bologna. What happens to families who relocate? Or are seeking better/closer care? EVERY CHILD DESERVES ACCESS TO CARE, NO MATTER WHEN THEY WERE BORN. His policy makes it really hard for parents who need care now. This tells me that some families are less worthy of care based on timing, NOT NEED. This kind of policy (which I've never heard of) may help manage his schedule & maybe he's looking out only for his own convenience, but it feels unfair to families who aren't expecting but still need support. They won't even give you a chance, they don't care, so don't bother calling.

Dr. was in contact with us daily with updates, and to help us through the process. He's very patient, caring and understanding. Even though I met him the day I gave birth, I felt like I could trust him. My son is now 1 1/2 years old, and enjoys playing in the waiting room at the Aiea office. He just doesn't like the shots... But hey, who does? If he does need 2 shots, it's soo fast! It seems like the nurse only gives him 1 shot, and I should know because I do not like when gets shots! The nurses are always friendly, and welcome us when we arrive. Recently, I dislocated my son's elbow (nurses elbow, waah!) and Dr. met me on a early Sunday morning. We are beyond grateful for Dr. Tamamoto and the care he provides. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

It was very easy for me to set up a phone interview with Dr. Young and he hooked me from that very first call. He was very friendly, answered all my questions, gave me a bunch of information of what to expect for my newborn and the first year, and made me feel so welcomed and cared for that I decided to select him as my son's doctor. If you give birth at Kapiolani, Dr. Young will come see your newborn and make his assessments which I was a fan of (I believe he does not make any rotations at Queens, but be sure to ask). It was assuring to have him check on my baby those first couple days of his life to ensure he was healthy and able to leave the hospital and head home. My son is now 2.5 months old and we have been to Dr. Young's office a few times for his routine check-ups. I love that the office policy is to schedule newborn babies for the office opening hours (around 8am) to ensure that babies are not mixed in with older children, who are most likely sick. In addition, I have never waited long to be seen. I have had 8am, 8:30, and 8:45 appts and each time, we were swiftly brought in, I think the longest I've ever waited has been 2 minutes. I would definitely recommend Dr. Young for anyone looking for a pediatrician in or near Aiea. Only downside I can think of right now is his office does not validate parking so it'll cost you a couple dollars to park each time.

I heard about Dr. Yano specifically from a magazine article naming him one of the top pediatricians on Oahu. They highlighted how this office is open 6 days a week. LOCATION: This office is located in the Aiea Medical Building (yes the same building where Aiea Heights Drive Inn was). Parking is always a pinch here, and it's best to bring cash to pay for parking. CONSULTATION: Once I heard about Dr. Yano, I scheduled a consultation because I was pregnant with our very first baby. After I would say 3 minutes of our initial consultation I immediately knew I wanted him to be our baby's pediatrician. He is a man of god and he's not afraid to be honest with you. Our initial consultation felt almost like a marriage counseling session to prepare us as brand new parents. DAYS: This office is open 6 days a week. What office does that? They are AHHHH MAZING for that!! On Saturdays they recommend you call first thing in the morning to schedule an appointment, because they usually only work half days or up until they have appointments. FRONT OFFICE STAFF: They are all amazing. You can always call to schedule / reschedule appointments and make payments over the phone with your card. OTHER DR'S IN THIS PRACTICE: I have had the pleasure of visiting other physicians in this practice and they are all amazing, knowledgeable and most importantly caring! NURSES: I loooooove all the nurses here. They are so patient with our baby girl. If you are on the fence about picking this pediatrician versus another, trust me, make the right decision, CMA is the place to be.

He is also very nice and will explain thoroughly if we have any questions. Although appointments are always scheduled far in advance, they will fit us in when they can if my kids are sick, and I am reminded by email or text for appts scheduled far in advance. The front desk is always on it and if I have a question, the assistant or doctor will call within a day, usually after or close to closing.
