I purchased 4 pieces of office furniture on March 19, 2026 and assembly service from Office Depot/Max in Columbia, TN. I am very happy with the purchase, but the assembly company, SPAR is another story. Marvin scheduled teh assembly with "German". Due to my schedule of attending 2 out of state funerals, the assembly was scheduled for April 2nd. That did not happen as "German" was a no-show. The date was rescheduled for April 7th. Michael showed up within the set time and was excellent and efficient. However, the hutch doors just weren't working as they should. No fault of Michael, but I think it was more a design flaw because everything he did should have fixed the problem. AJ, from Office Depot/Max got involved to try to resolve the problems. He and I had communications with Mark (management of SPAR) and he and I went through several phone calls to schedule someone to complete the job. AJ was very helpful and agreeable to swapping out the hutch I had for one on the show room floor (which worked properly) and now I was trying to coordinate someone to come out from SPAr to pick up the hutch from the store and deliver it to my home and replace it with the one I had that was not functioning correctly. I was told that this would happen "early to mid-afternoon" on April 20th. Well, about 4:30 pm that day I called and could not get anyone to respond, so I called AJ at the store and he again got involved to help me out. The hutch was finally swapped out only due to the willingness of AJ and Office Depot/Max to assist in accomplishing this. SPAR is horrible about communicating with the customer; Office Depot/Max is GREAT about communication. SPAR is NOT trustworthy - they schedule and don't perform or follow through, leaving the customer to nag them. Office Depot/Max is GREAT with being proactive for their customer! AJ and Office Depot/Max is excellent with customer service and very respectful of their customer! read more

Many thanks to Jeremy and the team at OfficeMax in Columbia! I came in with the need to create copies of a photo that was a strange size. Needed them quickly and they had to be in a specific size and card stock. Very typical order I am sure (sarcasm in case you didn't catch it) Within 30 seconds Jeremy knew what I needed and quickly and expertly scanned the photo, created a proof for review and then had their monster Xerox printer create the photos. Without needing to ask, Jeremy cut the photos to size and presented me a stack of photos in 1/10000th the time it would have taken me to attempt to create at home on my own color laser printer. Some times it is much easier and recommended to just let the professionals do the job! If you ever need photos copied and you are vaccinating on how to produce them, you should just go over to your local Office Dept or Office Max and let them take care of you. This place like to harass people much? From the second of going inside these two Women Followed every move and even to the bathroom, I go in there and this women opens the door 45 seconds later asking if anyone was in there knowing I just walked in, and when I come out she went in behind me and the came back out and followed me some more. While they have customers waiting for them up front. And then gonna come outside when we go to pull off and watch us. So what I do next? I pull back in and go up in her and what they problem is and what the number to corporate is! I mean really? That's real professional, no reason for it at all. read more

Only go there when absolutely necessary. They can't seem to figure out how to use their register. They can not handle using tax exempt combined with a Coupon!!! Forget about the print shop. read more

i went to this store today to purchase an ink cartridge for my printer and had the model number and all information to purchase it. after standing in front of the display for 10 minutes and not being able to find what i needed and no one offering any assistance i decided they were not interested in my business. as i was leaving the store a clerk ,which was just standing at the front asked " did you not find what you were looking for" i replied no i didn't find any help.she instead of saying maybe i can help,just stood there and said i'm sorry.the store was not busy and there was no one on the floor anywhere to assist customers.i was in retail for 30+ years and would never treat a customer this way.i will continue to go to the office depot in florence,alabama for any needs i have.fyi,my cartridge is at least $100 and i guess that is not a ig enough purchase to warrent assistance. read more

I have always had a very pleasant experience here. The personnel is friendly and knowledgeable and I can't say enough nice things about this store. I shop there frequently. In response to the previous review, some salespeople tend to hover and don't realize their doing it. When I feel someone doing this, I always smile and say "If I need help, I will ask. Thanks." Their competitor down the hill (Office Depot) is just the opposite - every time I have been in that store, no one greets me or really cares if I or other customers buy anything. Ready to check out? you have to wait for someone to stroll over to take your money. Want to ship something? You better read the directions, because they won't help you. Need copies? You'll be treated to rolled eyes and made to feel like you are inconveniencing the sales associate. This has happened to me on several occasions, with different employees. Office Max is like a breath of fresh air and I shop with them instead of Office depot. read more
