I've waited for 2 mornings (that were both set up the day before) with KAYLA to call about a position and (no surprise) no calls from KAYLA on either day, not even an apology or email why. Her supervisor should send her back to the job market, as anyone not doing their job should be. If she's done it to me I'm sure she's done it to others. As far as recruiters in general, why do so many companies continue dealing with so many unreliable recruiters and third party employment services to fill their employment needs? Shouldn't recruiters be that vital link between those seeking to fill a position with those looking for one? Unfortunately recruiters fail to help either side. I don't think they respect their jobs, much less peoples lives and livelihood that they seem to care less about. I think that honestly anyone with half a brain can look through job sites on line and find a suitable candidate to fill a position. As job searchers we post our resumes on line, hoping and praying that some half interested recruiter notices it, then if one does they'll either contact you about a job that doesn't fit your experience or if it does, they won't follow up or keep you updated, much less return calls. I'd just like some of the ones (especially those with thick foreign accents) to at least learn the geography of the United States and know where states are located and then determine if Texas to Oregon is a local commute. Google Maps is free by the way and available in many languages. Sirius Technical Services is just an example (a very poor one) of what those looking for work must deal with in a modern day social media driven society that we live in. The job recruiting industry has become similar (and respected) to auto sales and those who sell autos, as not being very honest, reliable or knowledgeable of trades or requirements. Hopefully one day they'll be another way and companies ween themselves of dealing with those dreaded (and hated) recruiters, but in the meantime, if we all have to rely on job recruiters they have to do their jobs right or get called out.
