Often understaffed. When I make an order, I often have to wait many hours to hear from them that it's ready. Certainly not the fault of the employees. read more

I had to print something for a project and had issues. Their staff was Super helpful in helping me get the printing job done. That's my go-to place now for printing projects. read more

"Same day printing" apparently means "we'll get to it whenever we feel like it." I waited over 10 hours for my order, drove 40 minutes to pick it up, and discovered they had printed it in the WRONG SIZE. When I asked them to correct their mistake, I was told it would take even longer because "there are people in line for printing ahead of you." Excuse me? I ALREADY waited in line. This was supposed to be my completed order. It should have been done correctly the first time. Then, after all of that, I was told it would take another hour to fix because the employee had to go on lunch. Why is your lunch more important than correcting your mistake? The absolute lack of urgency, professionalism, and accountability was unbelievable. Not one genuine apology. Not one acknowledgment that they wasted my time. Just excuses and an attitude. Mistakes happen. Treating the customer like THEY are the inconvenience afterward is the real problem. If you value your time or expect even remotely decent customer service, go somewhere else. I will never use this location again. read more

I stopped in here on a Thursday morning around 8:30. What a chipper bunch! I would expect service this early in the morning to be dragging, but I was quickly proven wrong. I first wandered through the aisles and not too long after meandering around with an undoubtedly confused look on my face, Marshall asked if there was anything he could help me with. I initially declined his help (because who likes to admit they're lost?) I eventually found what I was looking for and short after had a question regarding it. I approached Marshall again and instead of being irritated or bothered that I turned him away earlier only to turn around minutes later to ask a question, he graciously helped me. I then explored the aisles some more to find other things I needed. When I was unsuccessful, I came across Nathan who cheerfully escorted me to the aisle I needed (of course I had been in the aisle already and the very thing I was looking for was right in front of my face! - He tried to help me by saying they re-organized the store recently so the aisle signs weren't necessarily accurate. I really appreciated that.... Even though I hadn't actually read the signs originally. Haha.) I finally made my way to the cash register where I was helped by Michael who was patient with the return/exchange of my online order. The only pitfall is that the air conditioner doesn't work very well; so, if you're looking for relief from the summer heat, you won't find it here. But you know what? I had such positive service, I can't even dock them a star for lousy A/C. If I need any supplies last minute, this will definitely be my stop! read more

It is my go to store for office needs. I felt that the personal were kind, helpful and quick about understanding exactly what I needed. Very reasonable prices. I usually prefer easy parking and access. Thanks for being open in these hard times. read more

I have had the opportunity to work with Don Traverso in the printing area of the Whitney Way (Madison, WI) store a number of times over the past six months to create canvas prints of artwork for my daughter. He takes the time to ensure that the final product is the best it can be - despite numerous obstacles and interruptions. Don, like so many of the OD employees, wears so many hats that it must get difficult at times to keep track. Kudos for staying pleasant, professional, and effective!! read more

I went in to buy a desk (very close to closing) and the staff working there at the time (James, Don, and Nimi) was incredible! They worked so hard and showed so much kindness to get us what we needed! They even took measurements to help ensure we could fit the desk in our car. I am so grateful for their help and their kindness! read more

After reading the other reviews, I was quite shocked! I have had nothing but great experiences from this location and always leave satisfied! John helped me get my tablet and was fantastic! I wish now I would have asked some questions about memory cards before buying online (Ebay) cause my 64g did not work. My fault completely because I had not done enough research. Which brings me to today. After doing some quick shopping around for 32g micros, Office Depot had the best deals. While looking around, I had stopped into Walgreen's and a young man helped me price out their cards which are horrible prices. I told him what I was looking for and told him that shortly I would have 2 64g cards if he wanted to buy them because he wanted more room on his phone. I went back to Office Depot and Waii greeted me. (It was by chance that it was her since she was the lady that said goodbye to me on my way out the first time I was there.) I told her I was trying to beat the clock and asked her about the return policy just in case the 32g didn't work. No hassle return! Gotta love that. She quickly and efficiently helped me in and out. Thank you Waii!!!! =) Just a side note - I was able to get home and get the cards into my phone and tablet and make it back to Walgreen's, but unfortunately the young man couldn't use the 64g cards. But he didn't have to wait long to find out because I was in and out and well taken care of!! Thank you again Waii!! read more

I've never had worse customer service at any store, ever. I was the only person at the print counter and it took about fifteen minutes before my request was even acknowledge, and I was then asked to wait longer. read more

My friend and I visited Office Depot on South Whitney Way on Saturday, August 24, 2013 between 8:15 and 8:30 pm. We had barely walked through the doorway when a white-haired male employee in his 50s or 60s working the checkout line angrily addressed my friend with a scowl on his face, "Can I help you find something!" When my non-Caucasian friend politely replied, "No thanks, I'm just looking." The same store employee then made a show of pulling his arm out in front of him to look at his watch and barked at my friend, "Are you looking for something?!" My friend replied that he wasn't sure what he was looking for and we continued walking into the store. As we began browsing the electronics my friend and I began discussing how rude the store employee had been. His manner toward us gave me the distinct feeling that we were not welcome in the store. I have never, in my entire life, been treated so horribly by a store employee as we were that Saturday night. My friend was very bothered by the employee's behavior, but I knew he wouldn't say anything. We decided not to purchase anything from the store after we were made to feel so unwelcome. On our way out of the store I stopped a female African American employee who was stationed at another checkout line and asked her the name of the white-haired male employee working the other checkout lane. I shared with her the way the man had treated me and my friend. Another male employee who was nearby informed us that the employee in question was 'John'. I explained to this male employee what had happened and told him I was very upset by his behavior and asked if I could report it to the store manager. The man with whom I was speaking told me he, himself, was the store manager and said he would talk with the employee in question. I did not get the impression from this 'manager' that he took our complaint seriously. I don't recall him apologizing for John's behavior...it's possible he may have, but if so, it was very weak. The femal employee told us she hoped we would come back to visit the store another time. After leaving the store I became more upset as I realized what so many people of color experience on a frequent, if not daily, basis...racism. I will never patronize that store again. Nothing short of 'John' being fired would satisfy me. He has absolutely no business working in a customer-service capacity as he is obviously unable to relate to anyone not of his ethnic background. read more

This is the second time I have been here for specific items that were supposed to be in stock. NOT ! Today I waited for assistance, standing right next to the computer clerk, for 20 minutes. He was helping a lady. When he got done with her he started helping a customer that had just walked in. Grrr!! I went up front to a check out and requested to speak to a manager. He said the manager was busy. Right ! I will NEVER buy from Office Depot again. read more

Worse customer service ever experienced! My husband and I went in to get some paper for our printer. Could not find anything cheaper than $9 so we asked a guy at the front desk. Turns out he is the manager and he was so rude. He literally put up a fight with my husband because he insisted that the paper was expensive but the reason is that it is better. We told him we don't print that much, few pages a month and we did not care. He kept walking alongside with us insisting that 'ok, whatever then, don't come back and complain, I am just trying to tell you that your printer will break'. He was so rude I could not believe. This is not even the first time it happens, had to deal with him another time and his attitude was even worse. Then we went to pay and the guy at the register was checking his phone, did not put the paper in a bag, we had to ask him for a bag and even the receipt and he called my husband 'hey man yeah I can give you a bag'. I cannot believe how nasty this place is. And by the way they are either out of stuff I am looking for or they cost few dollars more than stores around them. This place needs to close down! read more

I did not enjoy my shopping experience at this Office Depot. I had some specific shipping supplies that I was looking for, and the employees seemed extremely unenthusiastic to help me find them. After wandering around for a long time unsuccessfully looking for my items, I put what I had found back on the shelf and drove to Staples, where I found the same items for half the price and much friendlier service to boot. read more

Better quality than than Office Max, Target, or Walmart. Low prices. I was looking for a stapler made out of REAL metal and not a cheap piece of plastic that will break and go to the landfill in a year. Unlike Office Max, they had what I was looking for at a decent price. School supplies were on sale and good quality, so I added those to my basket. I asked if there was a place in Madison where I could donate or recycle used packing peanuts (I hate sending styrofoam to the landfill). They weren't aware of any, but told me to bring them to the store and they would re-use them for something. I was surprised and pleased that they wanted to help me and the environment! Overall, a good experience. read more

To begin with, Jacob was outstanding. He managed to take care of me and several other customers while completing all tasks for me and the other customers. Upon being rung up for my copies, my naievette regarding office supplies (I just started a new job) was going to cost me plenty, including a hefty explanation about why the charge was so much. Jacob and a manager ( I assume but cannot remember a name) got the cost down reasonably (coming from customer service I completely understand this is not an easy nor easily explained to upper management move). I want to say thank you for your understanding and assistance in something that was ultimately my fault. Only suggestion would be to post prices around the printing a copy area so maybe those not quick to ask cost questions doesn't do what I did. Jacob, you saved the day. On top of it, all of the employees were in good spirits, something not generally seen in retail these days. read more

Worse customer service ever. I had ordered a few item for pick up. I literally stood there for 10 minutes before anyone helped me. While I was waiting, the three men working there went on talking like they did not see me waiting on the service counter. Office depot needs to train their employees more efficiently for better customer service. Very poor service. Very unprofessional. read more

Worst customer service ever. Went to Target to buy the same items with zero hassle. When I called the store to give feedback, the store clerk that answered the phone got super defensive, and didn't take my feedback seriously. He didn't even try to be nice. Worst store ever, go to Target. read more
