I sent an employee there to get 16-copies at 6:30-pm on Oct 30, 2024. It took 30-minutes to get waited on and at 7-pm the employee said my guy would have to come back tomorrow to pick-up the 16-copies, after begging & pleading, they said he could come back in 15-minutes to get them (what should have been less than a 5-minute job) ended up taking an hour of wasted time to do business with this store! I will NEVER set foot in this store again, EVER! Incompetence personified!!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! read more

Several times I have had terrible customer service at the Flint Office Depot location. I recently went into the store to just turn in used ink cartridges to recycle and get my rewards for doing so. I wasn't sure if the cashier who waited on me was the same one who is always so picky and rude because she didn't have a mask on. Turns out, unfortunately, it was her when she wouldn't give me a plastic bag to put the ink carts I was going to turn in. I had a bag full of my own and just wanted to kindly put only ten of them in a store bag to hand in. This cashier refused for some stupid reason and then insisted she take my bag and get them out herself, and I adamantly told her no. She got so rude with me and I said never mind, I'll get someone else to help me. I gave her my feedback and told her she has the worst customer service skills, and this cashier was so bad, she yelled back to me that I was a terrible customer! What a bad mouth on her! No employee should ever talk like that to a customer!! I told the employee at the service desk what the cashier did and found out her name is Retta. I have complained about her before but never knew her name. I asked for the Office Depot District Manager's name and was told it's Jeff and I called another Office Depot location for them to have him contact me. Jeff did call me and took my information about the Flint store. I also told him of another incident with another employee who I had already complained about when I returned an item and she was going to staple my original and return receipts together and I kindly told her please no, I don't want them stapled and she gave me a hard time about that! Why? The Flint Office Depot is the very bottom of the barrel with customer service and the worst of all the central MI locations and I have only gone there just for minor transactions. Depending on which location I am in at the time, I also go to the Okemos, MI store which is top notch where the employees are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and are accountable with excellent customer service. Not Flint, that store even looks depressing and the employees never smile and just go through the motions. When I make major purchases, like recently a new printer, I bought it at the Okemos store because they are the most trustworthy. read more

Office Depot prints things! Did y'all know this? A little unbeknownst fact to me until I assumed one of my maid of honor duties and took on the task of printing invitations. After getting local printing prices, a friend of my mom's suggested checking out Office Depot (not Office Max, or Staples, mind you: they do not print (most) things, and definitely don't print wedding invite kits) to compare costs. Obviously, you don't have a lot of choice with regard to color, and they aren't in the business of fancy-pants raised ink with glitter and sparkles, but if all you are looking for is simple black, I'd highly recommend this print center in the corner of Office Depot. We bought our 3 boxes of invitations at Michael's, and, after a few minutes of typing up the text and choosing just the right scripty font, I made PDFs of all the documents and dropped off everything here. They have a sign in the back that reads "drop off before 2pm and you'll get same day -- or it's free!". I'm not sure how true that is, because our pickup time was pushed back to the next day and we still paid for our order. However, we were able to use a 25% coupon from Sunday's paper, making the grand total for 90 invitation cards, 90 RSVP cards and 90 info cards a whopping $15. This should be a warning to anyone who does business with Office Depot. I had stopped by Office Max to purchase some ink refills. Discovering that the store had closed down, I walked over to Office Depot. After some looking around, I found the ink refills I was looking for but they were double the price that they're selling on Amazon for so I decided to leave the store. Keep in mind the context of my visit. I walked in, carrying a tote bag that had some pants that I had purchased from Target, just across the street, along with a package that was sealed up that I was preparing to ship out through USPS. The security alarm did not go off when I walked into their store but it did when I left the store. Making my way halfway across their parking lot, two of their employees stopped me and asked me if I took something from their store without paying for it. This was a politically correct way of accusing me of shoplifting from their store. I found the question not too offensive but it took me aback. So, I told them I had not taken anything from their store and offered to let them search the tote bag I was carrying. They refused to search my bag. Hey, I offered to let them and I was nice about it. But, they declined and kept asking me the same question, over and over again, "did you take anything from our store without paying for it". After the tenth time of hearing the same question repeated, I grew quickly annoyed. They returned to the store and I went about my business. That's when I decided to contact their corporate customer service. It was bad enough that the store employees were very offensive to me and I was assured by their customer service department that this matter would be looked into. Not only did their customer service department forward my complaint to the wrong store, the wrong person and the wrong district but their responses were few and far between. While I'm sure that stores have problems with shoplifters, this could have been avoided simply by their employees searching the tote bag I was carrying and the fact over how their customer service department handled this incident, major fail on Office Depot for handling customer service problems. read more

On April 11, 2020 my wife and I visited Office Depot on Lennon Rd. in need of ink for our printer. We were in the store 20 minutes first looking at new printers and then trying to figure out what ink we needed. Instead of the store clerks coming to help they chose to be suspicious. After a call hime we figured out what ink we needed Upon entering the store we were asked could we be helped and was pointed in the direction of the ink by this time a gentlemen in street clothes came to the end of the aisle and in a very direct and authoritative way asked me what I needed. I asked him did he work here and he responded yes still being very nasty and direct. The way he talked to me made me feel as if I was doing something wrong just by shopping.I explained to him that we were trying to figure out what ink we needed and now we trying to figure out the difference between a 564 ad 564 XL. He explained that the XL had twice the ink. I said thank you. To my surprise he was still standing there like a security guard and made me feel very uncomfortable. I asked him was there a problem he said yes I was watching you on the camera and came out to see what was going on. I told him if he was watching me on the camera he would see that I was shopping. I was so annoyed at this point I placed the ink back on the shelf and told him I will spend my money elsewhere. On the way out I asked the cashier who he was she told me he was the owner Steve Kubosik. If a owner of Office Depot can treat customers like that I can only imagine how the employees treat customers. Without a doubt I feel like I was profiled. read more
