A chill walk through the beautiful Adirondack sights, I went to the town area and found Coast to Coast. I made an appointment and when it came, I was welcomed by a very lovely woman who led me to where they do the manicure. The place was very clean and decorated lovely. She was very kind and gave me a great manicure. She tried to get in a conversation with me, but I didn't talk much since I'm used to not talking with the manicurists. I really should have; she was really nice. At that time, I didn't know about the act of giving a tip, so I didn't give her one. I should've, though, she gave me a great service. I would go back if in the area. If you are near, definetely give this place a try. It's worth a visit.

We talked through my desire to add some highlights to blend my root growout and grays into the brighter ends. She was super empathetic and checked with me after lightening to confirm the right toner shade and cut to be sure I was comfortable. I regularly see Brittany at the Strand for my haircuts and the occasional highlight. I've always…read morebeen happy with the cuts, especially during my long, drawn-out process of growing out my bangs. (Also provided: moral support while growing out the bangs, which I very much needed.) I have medium-dark blonde hair and Brittany has a light touch with highlights which brightens up the overall look of my hair color without giving me dark roots to worry about and maintain. I don't have the time or money to mess around with roots; subtle highlights are the goal for my hair and I'm consistently pleased with the results. The salon is in downtown Saratoga so you are paying Saratoga prices (sigh, I'm still a midwestern girl at heart, and the cost of living up here really hurts that heart). But, for Saratoga, this is the first place where I've reliably received haircuts and color that I like, can get an appointment in a reasonable amount of time, and the actual cut and color don't take foreverrrrrr. My previous salon once took a full 3.75 hours for a simple (and not that great) cut and highlight, which is *absurd*, and why I jumped ship. Please note that the Strand does *not* accept credit cards. Cash or check only! Parking can be found on the street if you're lucky, in the public library parking lot, or in the garages on Putnam St and Railroad Place. I think all of the parking in the area is 2 hour time limit between 8am-6pm.
