It was as if we went to a rave and decided to spend the night in the middle of it. The website says they have a strict quiet time of 11p. They sure didn't last night! And supposedly our site was in the quiet section! Our neighbors had music blaring! Across the river was blaring a different music. Ppl yelling, dogs barking until 2 a. It was impossible to sleep! And after 2 a when music finally shut off, the trains start blasting their horns and more dog barking. Oh! And this campsite is RIGHT NEXT to a busy road! I don't always need peace and quiet. I like music on floats. This was insane! Never again! Well except for tonight. We have 1 more night in this pit they call camping. lol. And- the seed tics were trying to crowd us out! By the time I set up tent the first night, I pulled off 30 tics. And I had bug spray on. I know the tics may not be management fault, but I would want to know. We had tics in tent, bed, everywhere! Oh and the shower house. Cobwebs everywhere! Not just overnight, more like we are going to do the very minimum to maintain this place so cobwebs for days. Toilets themselves were clean. No A/C. Just a fan in the corner ceiling too high to turn on. The river was very busy- but that just means lots of ppl to hand with and meet. The float was awesome.

But we got there about 9:15 and we're on our way about 9:45. Didn't have the fancy convenience store some launch points do, but honestly I can do without. It was very convenient the bus was right next to parking so we didn't have to haul our stuff from a parking lot to a bus stop like others ones we've gone on. They were all very friendly and helpful. The Elk River itself is a great run for families and easy to navigate. Definitely recommend! Do wish there was a slightly shorter run for families like ours. But that's ok, we'll be back!

The bathroom flooded on Friday and did not get fixed until Saturday morning. We had to go to eagle nest. Even after "fixing them" we had to take a shower on flooded showers which was disgusting. They have no quiet hours our neighbors didn't stop their music until 4:30 am and they were right NEXT to the office. They tried to charge me almost $50 extra and they claimed security had seen 3 more guest arriving on our camp. I had to email them about it being a mistake and they did send it back, but if I wasn't checking my bank acct they would of charge me!. They have nothing on their store compared to other campsite. Person at the front desk was super friendly but with the other issues I would not recommend.

The venue had a peaceful vibe which is what we wanted. The owner/rental agent created a whole new negative vibe and gave US a terrible review. We believe they were attempting to silence a potentially bad review from us, which was never our intent even though there were significant issues with the property that the owner chose to ignore. Here are the facts. We rented both houses and one of the two houses had no hot water for the entire stay. We texted the owner and were told to fix it ourselves by checking the circuit breakers. We did and found it had tripped, and it continued to do so for our entire stay. We kept the owner informed. Consequently 2 out of the 4 bathrooms that we paid for were not fully functional. The owner should have had an electrician on site the next morning. She did not. So for six people - no hot shower for you! Future guests should also note that both of these bathrooms have a high step up to access the room. I don't think you can see this in the pictures, and it's problematic for older guests. One of our guests fell trying to get into the bathroom. The other house also had electrical problems - not a big deal as it only affected the TV - but the owner blames us for the electrical problem in her review. Again, she was simply trying to get ahead of a bad review from us. Also, I expected the outdoor decks to be broom swept for new guests. They were not, and they were filthy. We took care of it ourselves without complaint. The owner also complained about where we left the key when we left. Please note there were two different sets of instructions posted on their site and the airbnb site. We went with the one that said leave the key inside. It was a simple mistake, and the owner made a big deal about it. They complained about this even when we offered to pay for the extra gas it would take for them to get another key. For goodness sakes, we followed all of their instructions and they totally trashed us in their review. Not nice business owners. Finally, one valid point mentioned by the owner in her review was that we trespassed the day before our check-in. I am accustomed to doing a drive-by on properties we rent, and no one was staying there at the time. After turning off the road, I see now it's all private property. It was never our intent to trespass, no harm was done, but the owner practically called us criminals for this simple mistake. We paid a lot of money to stay at this property - and it was the right venue for this incredibly sad gathering. We were willing to overlook the issues we encountered. The owner chose to smear our good name, and I just needed to report the facts in this situation.

Updated Review: I received an additional $25 charge because of three very small, orange spots left…read moreon the fitted sheet in the room my son and I stayed in several weeks ago (unsure what caused the delay from our checkout to notification of the stains). The owner said it looked like paint. We didnt have paint. While I was being chastised by the owner over the paint it was also brought up that the door was left wide open on checkout. I am a bit OCD about safety so I'm confident we didn't leave the door open. The owner suggested the wind blew it open which made my mama heart stop beating just thinking of all the things that could've happened. It is terrifying to think my 6 year old and I spent two nights at this motel where the doors can blow open. We were at anyones mercy with the faulty doors our entire stay. Thankfully, I don't think anyone entered and stole anything nor did they push the door open to harm us. I can say we won't be staying at this motel again. It was clean enough but the safety issue is a big no if you have kiddos or bring anything with you. The accusatory attitude of the owner also left a gross taste in my mouth. Conversations should've been much more professional. All in all, I'm thankful I was about to visit my sister in Noel but future visits will be spent somewhere safer with friendlier staff and ownership.

I really loved the amenities such as pizza and firewood delivery. The pizza tastes like buffet…read morepizza. Sweet crust and greasy, everything you need after a long float trip. The water shoes in the shop were a fair price. The large cabin was perfect, being close to the main cabin. I would've preferred having outlets where we slept, which was the pullout couch under the stairs.
