It's really for small doggies, 'cause it's not really big enough for big dogs to run. But for the little critters, it's perfect. It's located on Dogwood, how cute is that. The developers did good. There's a black wrought iron fence that surrounds a small grassy space, two benches inside for people to sit on, a big beautiful tree, and you can let your little dogs run free. Joey and his little buddy ran around and around, and inspected every inch of the property, while Les and I sat and gabbed. It was very quiet, with nobody else around. On weekends, this place is probably hopping. What a nice find. P.S. The map that pulls up isn't right. If you go east on Town Garden Rd up into Bressi Ranch, you turn right on Alverton and left on Dogwood and the park will be on your right.

Major pluses are restrooms, drinking fountains, and free parking. I definitely recommend this green space and family-friendly park to the Yelp Community :-)

It is noisy with the ocean, the traffic, the trains, etc. The restroom is not very clean or nice. The picnic tables do not have shade. If you need a small park, in that area, give it a try. It's a true community park. But for a neighborhood park that also runs summer camps through the community center, it's exactly what a good local park should be. We appreciate it.

My favorite local hike that has all levels…read more The Oak riparian entrance is great for kids and beginners and you can go as short or long as you want. Closer to the lake you can enter in from the neighborhood and do a loop around the lake. The epic and challenging bit is hiking the dormant volcano itself. You can go one of three or a hidden fourth way up. The face is the most challenging and requires good balance. Both east and west sides require a little bit less, but it's a good strenuous hike that will get the blood pumping. My wife with Arthritis has done it and found it challenging. Our youth group does it a couple times a year and often will divide up based on the challenge they are looking for. It's great for an afternoon hike and when you've done it... plan a sunset hike. It's awesome. The tree cover near oak riparian entrance is really nice. The stream has cute little crawdads. That hidden entrance is at the bottom of cannon road where people will park at the church and enter the trail there. It makes for a longer walk, but there's also more trails. There's another under the power lines like a power line trail that starts paved then goes into the dirt trails. Note there are more mountain bikers and rarely you may see a OneWheel.
