Dogs here seem to get wound up and want to gang up on one another fast. The trick is to be active…read morewith the dogs and to establish YOURSELF as an alpha in the park and run with them, throw balls, and generally be there for them. I go to this park for my dogs, not to socialize and fraternize like some people think dog parks are for. Anybody that complains that a dog park isn't fun enough for them aren't really investing their time there properly. I love running here from my house with my dogs either on the street or through the canyon on the other side of the street. That may be why I have better luck than other yelpers at keeping my dogs safe in the park, because I'm constantly running around in the park itself to keep the pack of dogs in it entertained and happy. Occasionally I'll sit down and watch them, but if I'm not establishing that dominance and looking out for my dogs, anything can happen. Parking is rough- gravel and not well-maintained. People have problem with the dirt and bark chips but that's better than the alternative- grass, which would dry out quickly because there is little to no shade in this park depending on time of day. If your dog gets exhausted in the heat easily, consistently bring them over to the dog fountain and keep 'em hydrated! Overall, not outstanding, but it's close to a lot of residential areas and a great place to have my dogs run around. Do not bring puppies to this park unless you are willing to be actively working with them and the dogs around them to keep everyone safe and happy.

This event was well received by the community...more than 30 people (mixed age groups) showed up to volunteer. It was AWESOME!! This beauuutiful 42-acre park contains the largest public tennis complex in the city (10 tennis courts and 6 pickleball courts), basketball court, baseball/softball fields, a multi-sport turf arena, alongside a modern playground, designated dog park area, and shaded picnic areas. Major pluses are restrooms, drinking fountains, and free parking. I definitely recommend this green space and family-friendly park to the Yelp Community :-)

The few times I've been here has been enjoyable and everyone (including dogs) have been very amicable. The dog park is very well kept and like how they have some little obstacles courses for the dogs. The pickleball courts are also very nice but there are some areas that have been worn out, mostly behind the baseline. But nice seating area and efficient paddle system to rotate people in and out. I only wish it was closer to me.
