I've lost count of how many times I've given this place my business, and every time I come in, I'm always greeted with the nastiest attitude by the woman who works the cash register. It never fails to leave a sour taste in my mouth. The food is great, which is the only reason I've been back multiple times. I always give businesses the benefit of the doubt before leaving a review because I understand people have bad days and are under stress when it comes to working in the food industry, but I shouldn't have to leave with a sour taste in my mouth every time because of someone who's mad at the world. Tonight was my last night dealing with this store. I came in and ordered a chicken yakimeshi and patiently waited in my booth for the order. Once I got my meal, it was bagged up in a to-go bag when I never requested a to-go order. After receiving two small cups of pink sauce and being halfway through my meal, I politely asked the woman if I could use the pink sauce bottle that's for sit-down orders. She immediately started yelling at me, "WHY DID YOU MAKE A TO-GO ORDER JUST TO SIT DOWN AND EAT IT AT MY BOOTH? IF YOU WANTED TO USE THE BOTTLE, YOU SHOULD'VE ASKED, AND I WOULDN'T HAVE GIVEN YOU THE SAUCE CUPS?" I corrected her immediately, stating I never once asked for a to-go order and that was her mistake. I also told her that at the end of the day, it shouldn't matter where I eat my meal or how I order it, and I don't appreciate the nasty attitude I receive every time I come in here. She continues ranting while slamming 2 more sauce cups towards me and I snatched em and left the store before I finished my meal. The sauce is free at every OEC I've been to, and I'm not against paying for it if it wasn't, but she acted like I committed a crime based off her mistake, and I don't understand how me eating at the booth made her upset. Piss-poor service every time, without fail. If you want OEC, use a different location; every other one I've been to locally will serve you kindly without a problem. read more

Really good hibachi food to-go. Yes, you can eat in, but we never have. If you do eat in, there is no waiter service - order/pay at the counter, then head to the counter to pick up your food when it's ready. Most of the time, we would call our order in so it was ready when we arrived, but even when we just walked in the door and ordered, it never took more than 10 minutes. I've order the chicken and the steak dinners. Both are very good and come with fried rice. The prices are seriously cheap - like $6 for the chicken dinner and $7 for the steak dinner. It's also a hellalot of food! Many times, my 22 year old daughter and I would get a dinner to share and we'd still have food left over! Two adults eating for $6-7?! I love the food here. HOWEVER, could the staff possibly be more unpleasant?? I'm not one to write a bad review, but I've been in this place many times now, and I keep thinking maybe I caught the counter person on a bad day or something. No, it's not a bad day for her, it's just the way it is here... no smile, no thank you, nothing pleasant at all. Don't even expect a "Hi, may I help you?" The cashier just looks at you, as if to say "are you gonna order or not?" If you pay with a credit card, the cashier doesn't say a word, then runs your card and then flips it right back at you, as in "HERE!". And that's if she's not talking on her cell phone while taking your order! She literally talks on her cell phone, typically via corded earphones in her ears while taking orders. I feel like I'm interrupting her just to place an order and give them money. One day, I actually had to wake the cashier up, so I could place my order. Shortly after placing my order, she promptly put her head back down on the counter and went back to sleep... never raising her head the entire time I was there. At first I thought it might be a language barrier or social difference or something. But it's not... the staff here is simply unpleasant, rude, and pretty much acts like it's a nuisance to take your order. There's not many options in this area, and the food is good... but one day, I may get tired of the poor treatment here. read more

Good enough food. But rude rude rude rude. Not worth the rudeness. I watched the window cashier treat the customer in front of me very badly, following an order taking mistake. And then compound the situation with more bad service. I live near by so I tolerated this a bit out of convenience, but today I realized I am part of the problem if I go back and tolerate it again. There are a bunch of these restaurants around town, but due to this one being close to my job, I went there today. What stood out was the quality of service I received was very disappointing. The two females before me were greeted and welcomed, after issuing, their orders they were thanked by the staff member running their food. To my surprise, I was not greeted by the cashier, she stood there and gave me a blank stare until I placed my order, I was not told what my total was, after gving the amount of the order to the cashier, she placed my change on the counter and did not say thank you. I waited for my order at one of the tables and after receiving my order the runner placed my food on my table and walked away, and did not say thank you or acknowledged was the order even correct? I consider myself a mature professional adult, so there was not anything to my person that warranted this kind of service. Even though it was to go, the service was very odd - why was I treated in such fashion? I don't want to hash on old stuff (bigotry between blacks and asians), but it seems some people are still hung up on that. Tried to contact the company and was unable to, their email system was not functioning properly. Date was 4-14-2011, Server was Boss, my transaction number was #20, just for the record, saying I was there on this date. read more

This is a really good place to eat... The food is reasonably priced and tastes great....It never takes very long for your food to be ready... It's always hot, fresh and great tasting....Everyone who works here is friendly.... You can either dine-in or carry out... If you dine in keep in mind that there's no wait staff....You order at the counter and pick it up when it's done... If you're in the area this is a great place to stop for a cheap meal. read more

Food wise, it is OK for the price. I've come to find myself looking forward to talking to the cashier while on the phone and during pickup. I just returned home from this OEC. The food is alright for the price. However, the little girl at the front desk is not alright. Yeah, the one with the bangs and attitude. She was SO rude and seemed so irritated to be taking orders. She answered the phone while I was placing my order without saying "hold a moment" or anything. The entire time she was on the phone taking an order she was rolling her eyes and sighing. When she hung up, she just looked at me like I should be reading her mind. I overheard some of her conversations with other customers and she seemed very passive aggressive. Even the guy who brought my food out was rude. I was very irritated when I left. No plans to go back. I will gladly drive to a different location to avoid the rude staff. read more

This is the worst OEC ever. My wife loves these OEC restaurants. When it first opened we went there. Disappointed is the only description. I've gone back since to give it a try. OK I like the food. But just as I have said on other review sites. Watch out for the angry Asian woman. You will get so-so service from her as she will be talking on the phone while taking your order and yelling at the guys in the back. First time I went, I called in my order, they told me 15 mins. to pickup, I got there and waited 30 more minutes! The chick behind the counter never smiles, never apologizes, never says thank you...she is totally like a robot!!! The food is good, but it's not worth it because of her! This place used to be decent for a shopping center restaurant. Cashier/order taker needs to go to hospitality school. May be a reason no one was their at 1:20pm. No smiled equals no customer. No customers means less $ coming in. Food quality is down. I couldn't even eat the chicken, beef & shrimp hibachi. Even the soy sauce sucked. read more
