If only i could give a zero. This store is unbeleivable and that its allowed to even continue…read moreoperations is beyond me. I want to warn people so they are not taken as we have been. My husband has spent thousands upon thousands at this store, that is, until i realized how bad he was being taken for. every birthday, every anniversary my husband has bought things here, the last straw was a multi stone very large diamond ring, he bought it a month before our anniversary and then brought it with him to our vacation trip to give to me there, we were on vaca for two weeks. Although lovely it was so large and high in stature that it wasnt something i would wear, so he told me I would be able to exchange it, well when i went in to do that I was told that it was past the 30 days, well yes this is true, it was purchased a month before he gave it to me. They said the only way it could be exchanged is if it was for a ring that was at least double the price of the original and then you have to pay the excess left. I said to them so Im stuck with a ring I wont wear, at which the manager says you can always sell it!! Really!! So then I asked for the information that goes with the ring such as Carat size , color etc because none of the jewelry he ever purchased there EVER came with any information or GIA cert. She says we dont have any of that and that the diamonds at Kay were not GIA cert. And that i would have to send it to have graded myself. Again Really!! Stay away from any store that sells diamonds that are not graded . especially when they are overpriced to begin with. I could go on and on with many stories because every peice he ever bought there was not what he had picked but what they pressured him to get, A tanzanite ring that had no A grade that i specifically asked him for at least AAA Blue tanzanite. and they didnt even know what the size of the stone was when i went back in. I wear a size 7 which is a normal size that most jewelers carry lots of, they kept selling him size 8 and said it could be sized at point of purchase, even though it was in our records there that i wear 7. If you are spending 5,000 and up for a ring and they want to re-size it, no thanks. If you are spending any amount on Diamonds that are not graded, No thanks. Go to a more reputable store that have a real jeweler on site. There is not enough room on here to say all of our mishaps, but when I told her my husband would not be returning here she had the nerve to call our home, I guess she was hoping he would answer, but guess what, I did. Men stay away from Kay jewelers in Apple Blossom Mall in Winchester Va. If anyone trys to sell you Diamonds that are not graded or GIA certified, dont bite.

Kay Jewelers in Winchester, VA ruined our wedding band experience. Store Manager Annie Fields was…read moreconniving and manipulative in order to sell us a more expensive band to enhance our engagement ring. We thought it would be a simple affair to have the rings soldered together. After 4 months of sending the rings back to their inept and slacktastic jeweller's lab (4 times!), we had to give up on the rings, as they had become steeped in anguish and disappointment. The rings were also half-melted from being heated too many times. Then, store employees started commenting to us that "those rings would've never worked well together" and "that engagement band probably wouldn't pair well with any wrap." Kays refused to accept a return on the now-deformed wedding band, and insulted us with a Kay's gift card as a parting gift instead. Kay Jewelers wasted many hours of our time with repeated trips and phone calls and caused my wife more pain than anything else I've seen her go through. I can't properly express to anyone reading my story about what I wish I could do to Kay Jewelers in return for the hurt my wife has gone through. If you love your wife more than anything else, then I bet you can imagine well enough. What I must settle for, though, is just spreading my story (longer, more detailed version will be up on Google), and hoping that I can warn others away from a similar experience. Please avoid this company and this store in the Apple Blossom Mall and buy your jewelry elsewhere.
