A nice, local cinema in a nice, victorian building, apart from a few minor things, i'd go back again and again.

Very old building and old seating too. My advice would be to go to the Southampton Odeon as the seats, screens and sound are all superior.

Intech Hands On Science & Technology Centre & Planetarium

The recent addition of the planetarium has been a big hit causing the numbers of daily visitors to swell so get there early as queues can be long. This centre has interactive learning technology and science exhibits, like how much water we waste with baths and showers etc, sounds boring with me saying it but it really is lots of fun with lots of weird and wonderful gadgets to play with it's really hands on, kids and adults alike will love it. There's a great gift shop with very cheap momentoes and the food was reasonable to. The best part for us was the show in the planetarium, just amazing and such a great display, fully disabled friendly and the staff were very helpful. All in all a 5 star day out.

This is risking my hard to please badge, but this is a fantastic day out, lots to do, good value;…read morethe entrance fee is fair, the cafe has good sized portions at a reasonable price, while the gift shop fair and down to earth; unlike The Science Museam in London, from which my son came away empty handed. It's a good hours drive each way for us but very well worth it, I'm thinking about buying the 1annual pass (they'll credit me with today fee if I sign up within 14 days). My lad is seven next week and said that today was the best day of his life, for that alone it is worth five stars.

Frome is very lucky to have it's own local cinema, when many comparative-sized towns for miles…read morearound do not have that luxury. The small and rather old-fashioned Westway Cinema stands in the same street as (now demolished) The Gaumont, the main cinema from the sixties era in this town. The films are usually pretty much up to the minute - even if not quite as fast as the bigger towns - well, we have a quieter pace of life around here! As for facilities, it's situated built into the Westway shopping precinct and just a few footsteps away from the central car park. There's showings every day, often twice a day, and as mentioned the titles are always popular, recently released films. Up the steep stairs (ask in advance about wheelchair access) there is a small foyer with ticket sales, sweet and soft drink sales - and a small bar. Yes, here you can sip a pint or two as you watch the action unfold on the screen. In homage to the olden days of cinema a small ice-cream kiosk opens between the adverts and the main feature for last-minute stock-up of drinks and nibbles. With concessions for children and OAPs and a perfectly pleasant and comfortable setting, this saves a small fortune (especially for families) on travelling to the more pricey cinemas in Bath. Well worth supporting your local cinema!

This is a small village cinema that has bags of character. It is very unlike the modern cinemas…read morethat we are used to today, but that is part of its charm. Three screens are available and often films are shown that have been and gone at the larger ones. It is one of the few remaining cinemas in the country that you are able to have a pint of beer in. How marvellous is that?!
