He did not pressure us to add more to our package. It was a very smooth process. He was very patient and helpful with all the planning that led up to the date. We highly recommend getting the glass package and the champagne tower for your special day. They were a great addition to match the perfectly made drinks and the beautiful venue. This little urban winery is one of the best wineries that I have been to since moving to San Diego!…read more Their layout on Newport Ave in Ocean Beach is perfect. Lots of foot traffic and cars full of beach lovers constantly going by! Parking is hard to find, but we luckily parked right across the street at 3pm. The tasting room has several tables, a long bar so you can stand at either side, and another bar which kept glasses readily available for Alan, who was serving us. Oh, Alan is a Great guy!!! Several regulars stopped in while we were there (Great sign) to buy a favorite, or just chatting it up with folks as they sipped wine. I had been excited to taste the wines here especially being very familiar with the areas in Northern CA where they source their fruit. I am very particular about wine, and the small production they do here allows for some quality tastings. Not all the wines I tasted were my favorites, but they gave me enough pleasure to know their Reserves will be exceptionable, so I spent a boatload on their Reserves that were not open for tasting. I even joined their wine club!!! If you are ever in the area, or just visiting San Diego, I Highly recommend going to Gianni Buonomo. A perfect choice for a hot summer day, although I could drink this year-round. My friends loved the red blend but since I'm not a red wine person, I can only say by their reactions that they loved it. This is a great local San Diego winery to enjoy glass of wine or two in a relaxing environment. So far I have been to the new location twice: once for the grand opening and once to pick up my allocation. They make lots of great wines. For me, I love the bold dry reds, and here they are amazing. In fact, I don't think they make a red I don't enjoy. Lately, I have really been enjoying the Sangiovese. A fun part of being in this wine club are some of the events. My husband and I went to a few great culinary events where they pair foods from local restaurants with their wines. Keep in mind that it is dog friendly and you can bring in whatever food you would like to have with your wine. It's fun to go to a local winery, and the quality is amazing!
