This was quite the unfortunate experience. I was so excited to have a thrift and vintage day and I had a tote bag with me for all of my shopping and farmers market shopping since it's a sunday... I walked in and greeted the staff, and did not get asked to put my bag away. If a store had an issue with it right off the bat, I have no problem with a bag policy. An example is the recycling bookstore, they ask you to put your bags with them and that's completely valid since they preface and have a storewide policy. Not a "customer profiling" policy. I then had an unfortunate experience where the male staff was following me and then later asked me to put my bag in the front. There were white customers in the store with bags similar and smaller sized to mine. I complied respectfully but I did not see anyone else with their bag in the staff storage area. I had my laptop with me as well and the front where they made me put my stuff was unattended and near the front door. I tried to brush it off and shop because I truly did have a mission to purchase a couple of antique items, but I felt so absolutely disgusted and appalled by the staff and their microagression towards me. The funny thing is, either if it was because I was young or brown, you shouldn't assume someone is capable of stealing when they could be your next best customer. First and last time i'm stepping foot into this sad establishment. I'd rather support businesses that respect their customers. Never have I been treated like this in another vintage or thrift shop. Such a shame and such an embarrassment. I'll be posting a video to explain the rest of my experience on tiktok as well.

They also have knick knacks, jewelry, pottery, toys, art, and more. The store was quite busy with customers while I was there. It was nice to see. The staff was friendly and helpful, quickly opening glass cases when I wanted to see something. Their inventory is so large I found it difficult to see everything in one visit. Their prices are reasonable. I ended up buying some California pottery, a framed floral print, and an MCM trinket dish. I'm looking forward to returning and taking another look around the store. There is a parking lot in the back of the building. Note: Some vendors have modern items mixed in with their antiques. A quick Google image search before you buy is a good idea if you care about the age of an item.

The women working there were very friendly and chatty. I understand they get new inventory all the time, so I plan to go back soon.

I went inside and met this older gentleman (who seemed like he liked to drink a lot of alcohol for some reason) and he showed me around in the back. He said that the owner was not there very often, because he was always in different shows. When he is not there, the house was kept closed. I wanted so much to enter the house, but was pleased when I saw all the assortment they had in that very LONG back yard. The furniture and other items were quite dirty and dusty, but there were so many beautiful old things to see. Really old furniture with wonderful carvings and details, old wrought iron garden items, old paintings, etc. etc. I really liked going around the back yard and spent quite a bit of time there. I ended up choosing a gorgeous antique print in an equally beautiful antique carved frame. I was prepared to pay at least $50, because I was already totally in love with it, when the gentleman gave it to me for $10. I was not about to complain. I wish that the store can be open on more regular hours, so that I can see what's inside the house. The old gentleman told me that the owner kept the "really nice stuff" in there!

Road trip... let's start with the basics!…read more Anyone who knows me knows I'm all about taking trips and ALWAYS finding the best thrift shops at my destination. This time my Mom and I hit the highway for a 5 1/2 hour drive to Los Gatos. My Mom is the ultimate cat fanatic, THEREFORE Los Gatos was a place we just had to viist so here we are on a serious mission to hunt down some PURR-FECT vintage cat treasures for her collection. We asked a few people at our hotel for local thrifts stores and a staff member recommended Happy Dragon Thrift Shop. This is a beautifully curated store located in the heart of town. The store is full of treasures ready to be rehomed. Happy Dragon was founded in 1958 supported by many volunteers. The store manager Mr. Robb is absolutely a delight. A humble person with a heart of GOLD. As a thrifter, finding good prices is important to me, but please remember that every thrift store prices items differently. Please do not let high price tags ruin your hunt, always take your time to enjoy the hunt. Your perfect find will show up at the perfect price For me on this trip I found: 1) Two adorable cat plant pots 2) A few Coca-Cola Americana style items 3) A a beautiful Waverly Arch Amerith hand held mirror dating back to 1920 (paid under $10.00 for it) There are amazing treasures waiting to be discovered here. NOTE while a few select items might be priced above market value, if you find something you truly love, then the price is right for you regardless of the market. PLEASE NOTE: 100% of the proceeds from the store sales directly support Pacific Clinics, which provides critical youth mental health services and family support. Definitely stop by if you are in the area.

Anyhow, as I said before in my last review, this thrift store is definitely a waste of time. If you are a serious bargain hunter, there are far better thrift stores around. I have shopped at better thrift stores!
