I figured he needed a few moments to get started up (totally understandable) but then he took an individual back who came in after me. 20 minutes later that person left and then the employee took another customer back who got there after me. I cannot in any way recommend Maxine Magri. She handled some estate returns for me and she is…read moreunresponsive, unaccountable and unprofessional. Just 1 example - she provided copies of federal and state estate returns in which all balances for income and expense were double counted. Then I find errors with the returns due to her excluding items she's been provided well before completing the returns, then when I ask about them she asks for documentation and details that were already provided. She doesn't respond to requests for timely updates on progress and filings. She has extremely low standards and lacks proper diligence and oversight and I find that completely unacceptable.

I strongly suggest you look elsewhere when seeking a tax accountant. This firm is outdated,…read moreunorganized and extremely expensive. They mail you a printed packet and expect you to complete it by hand filling in all the historical information that you had already provided the documentation for via email. After a few correspondences, and declining to complete the forms, they hesitantly sent a guest access to electronically complete the documents. Mind you, I had simply requested the same forms be sent to me in PDF but their system wouldn't allow such an export (1990's or what?!). The next issue is the disorganization. My husband and I hired Mr. Black to prepare our personal and business taxes. My in-laws also hired him to complete their personal and business taxes. My husband and I have different names, addresses and business names than my in-laws. I was called to pick up our business taxes so I did. A couple of days later, I was called again to pick up my in-laws business taxes so I informed my father-in-law that their taxes were ready. He went to pick them up and they gave him my husband's and my personal tax returns. My father in-law realized the error and handed it back to them. The next day or so I received a call stating our personal taxes were ready. I went to pick them up and they tried to give me my in-laws taxes as well. These issues are definitely a huge privacy concern!! To complete this terrible experience, we received the invoice for their services in completing our business tax return for over $700!! My in-laws received their invoice which Mr. Black's office kindly included the fee for my husband's and my personal tax return for $425! After the numerous issues, that office charged over $1,000 for a simple business return for an LLC and simple married filing jointly return with no dependents. Again, look elsewhere!
