I cannot recommend this Plasma Donation Center. I have a relative that requires Plasma, so I've donated on and off since I was old enough. Since this center is convenient with work I decided I'd try it. Honestly, this place needs a management and most of the staff overhaul. As I waited as a new patient, I had a lot, and I mean a lot of time waiting. I overheard staff make fun of patients, slights, and just downright rude comments. The place was clean, but staff (except for one!) was short, rude and obviously not happy having a paying job. Now everyone that's ever been to a Plasma center is aware that most people donating are people that need the money, and frankly it's a shame they don't get treated better and get paid more. I don't see rich people donating to save lives! The companies make bank on the donations they make off the donated plasma. Ask me how I know...I worked accounting. So back to the experience. I finally get called for the first step of the process, hand in my paperwork, check id, etc. then first finger poke, BP check, and then told wait again, note its been 1 1/2 hours waiting already, but I'm invested now, it's for my cousin! So I sit and wait for the physical interview and it's another hour and a half, sigh, glad my phone was charged and games loaded. Get called back finally and I don't get the thanks for being patient and instead I get: name, etc in a small room, no eye contact, no personality, flat affect worker. Eye roll. . I thought I was done, every other center I've ever donated at that was it. I'm healthy, my labs are good. Nope I was asked to wait again. So back to the front and I wait, curious on how long it'd be this time. Watched a manager having a good time on her phone laughing and talking with the door partially open another worker go on a break while the line was 15 deep with patients (existing patients) ready to donate. I see two phlebotomists on the floor. I watch one hook up a patient, he missed, adjusted. Went to the other arm, missed again after adjusting, patient was told sorry go home and if you bruised you'll get flagged. Flagged a few times they can't donate, even though a good phlebotomist gets a good vein 99%!of the time, rolling vein 90%, you just gotta be good. I know i used to be called to take blood from 80 year old patients, if you know! . So waited another 1/2 hour and at that point I'm paying Octa to donate my plasma a few times over. I walked out as they called me back to donate. Watching the staff disrespect the patients, no one honors the patients time, management doesn't pay attention or care. I'd say I've seen better. I'm sad for those who are pretty much relying on the few dollars they make a week for donating twice, it's pretty much like being paid $5 dollars an hour. Do better Octa! I have been donating for over a year, I can tell you that Dana, along with other workers rotate in when colleagues are struggling. And today was top-notch! There was only one phlebotomist scheduled. His name is Keith, and he typically gets stressed and disgruntled, because he is human. But today when I commented "you are the only phlebotomist" I am met with a calm indifference. "Dana is here to help me so I'm not worried." This location is extremely efficient and compassionate. A delightful environment to make a donation! thank you very much! read more

Hire more people! Having only 1 person screening in the morning is ridiculous. Always a long line. Hire more people to work in the morning!

I donate 2 times a week and have no complaints about this center. The people that work her are wonderful and friendly. They make you feel comfortable and are always making sure you are doing ok during your donation. There is sometimes a line to check in depending on what time you arrive but it usually moves quickly. Everyone has been helpful and amazing until today , I was told I have a rolling vein that is hard to get 1 person seems to get it every other time . I've had two people mess my arm up completely and today was told that I've had too many zeros and if I have another one I'll be asked to not come back this was in front of a whole room full of people and it made me feel like some sort of criminal. Steer clear this place. It has a very toxic company culture with not an happy employee in sight, accompanied by what was clearly "customs" that are discriminatory and prejudice in nature. I observed 3 separate different protocols and requirements for walk in first time donors all in a coordinated effort to turn away walk ins despite it being the first hour they are open. They me kept there till almost the end of the onboarding process to tell me I smelled like marijuana and I can't donate today...which is funny because I do not smoke marijuana...my roommates do but that has nothing to do with me. I requested a major who was rude and who enters the conversation with patient with a preconceived notion that all patients must be homeless or something a description that she fills to a T in all honesty and I haven't gone a day in my adult life with out a shower. The good news is is the recording (I legally took) I got does have sufficient legal grounds To meet the threshold required to litigate in federal court And they caught me at a time where I got nothing but time to file law suits so they're legal team will be receiving an email. Steer clear. If you have had experience similar reach out a class-action could materialize. I meet with my business partner 22 year awarded attorney next Monday for other litigation I'm currently engaged in. Steer clear! I gave three stars because the managers and staff do a great job in other areas. I have been coming here for six months with never a problem getting through. I was pretty happy about one of the screeners, Joey being out for two months. He's back with his ROUGH bedside manner, jamming the needle into my finger, making it hurt. This happens with no one else!!! He works proudly with hickeys on his neck and curiously for the first time EVER my protein was a 4.7?? I returned the next day with no problem. hello am writing to inform you that the experience at Hudson plasma center. they make you sit and wait to poke your finger braw blood make you look at a vide. make you wait 3 ours then after all that they ask all these questions. to tell you. you don't qualify for donating plasma the resin cause of my stroke that happened 3 years ago. was depending on that money to pay my bill. they should ask you these questions in the beginning not the end. After they poked me to my finger hurts in pain. bad Business. and my wife went in and they told here because she us to do drugs that was 18 years ago why did they deny her. I had a great experience at first but then by my fourth donation I was told they lost my bloodwork & had to retake again, twice. I missed out on the bonus of signing up because their doctor is only in once a week & apparently doesn't approve people's bloodwork that was told was good to go & can donate again until weeks later. When questioned about loosing my bloodwork twice they responded that's not what was said. They can't loose bloodwork. Why would I make it up?! They also hung up on me instead of passing me to a supervisor when I asked. Also I have yet to get my referral bonus no matter how many times I have asked. They have also tried discrediting me & saying I am deferred for life due to a so called issue with my labs. BULL! It was agreed to that I would use the other arm and until today I Never had a problem. Now I have to get screened again even though it was okayed by Jenn over a month ago. the staff are great but they never have enough people at the desk one lady at the desk while 12 people are in line the manager is just sitting in her office you think she would care enough to help the poor lady at the front. i think management do not care they sit around and don't step in to help! read more
