All stores I have been in are clean and I would say, quite newly refurbished. The staff are always friendly, and knowledgeable and happy to help with queries, or indeed ordering in items for you that are not stocked in store. I recently had myself checked for diabetes by the pharmacist and think this is a great additional extra that is offered by this chemist Am fairly sure they offer other health checks but I am not sure which ones.

Stacey Muir who heads the meeting up is full of life and ideas on how best to lose weight. Unlike many others she also gets weighed in front of the whole meeting so all her members can see her own journey to maintain her own weight. Customer service is great with helpers who are personable and friendly and also take part in their own Weightwatchers journey. From being totally unsure whether I could lose weight, Stacey's help and support along with that of her helpers has made me much more confident in my own weightloss struggle. Even better is that I can eat normal food and the plan fits in with my lifestyle very well.

The girl at reception was lovely and friendly and very accomodating when I was booking an appointment, and the facilities were clean and well set-up. The stand out though, was Isla, my masseuse. She took time to go through my form (I'm used to that never being looked at when I've had other massages!) and ask me a few additional questions about my back pain, causes, etc. She was incredibly aware of the back/body/muscles on me as an individual and tailored the massage for my own aches and pains rather than just running through a routine. She practices a number of different types of massage and clearly enjoys what she does, resulting in what sounds like quite a few regulars who she enjoys working with because she enjoys freeing people from their pain and generally making them feel better. I absolutely didn't want my session to end. Deep Tissue is not generally known as being relaxing but she managed to get deep into my muscles without causing pain and making it a wonderful and relaxing experience. She finished by showing me a few stretches which would help to open up my muscles and help to alleviate desk-job related aches and pains. I was so impressed. I've been to a few masseuses and I've never before been so impresed with someone's skill. I definitely plan to return (though, when they're having a sale... it's a bit on the pricey side!).

It is horribly plain and lifeless when you walk in, with white walls and a stale feeling about it. There seem to be too many plain chairs lined up, and the long corridor dotted with closed doors looks more like an interrogation center than anything good. Ok, not that visiting the dentist is harmless, but I had a strange sense that I should leave, and that if something bad happened I would remember that I hadn't left when my instinct told me to. Clearly I was in a strange mood Thursday last week when I visited, because two smiling faces and the best dentist I've ever met worked on me. She told me things no one has told me (not american or scottish dentists) about grinding my teeth and a broken filling (ok this later could have happened recently). She showed me xrays and told me her recommendations. I'm heading back this week for the first part, which is some kind of guard to stop my teeth being worn down due to clenching (how was she to know?). Most importantly, I was not hurried in and out. She answered questions, she was knowledgeable and polite, and I felt like more than anyone before she cared what happened to my teeth. Thanks!

Haymarket dental care is run by husband and wife team Charlotte and David who are both lovely and they have a team of dentists at the practice. My Dentist Lorna Burns is just fantastic! She talkes me through any procedures and options which leaves me at ease. The place itself is spotlessly clean even down to putting plastic covers on the handle of the dentists light above you. This is an NHS dentist but you can opt for paying extra for example paying to have a white filling rather than an amalgalm. There are two parking spaces at the front of the dentists which are free. I reccommended this dentists to two of my work colleagues who hadn't been to the dentists in years as they both had a fear of the dentist and both were reassurlngly and gently eased into it and both have overcome their fear and are pleased with the results. They text you a reminder the day before your appointment which ensures I never miss an appointment. very handy!

The chiropractor work is complimented well with massage and exercise classes when you need it. Other nutritional and lifestyle support is also provided. Unfortunately I moved away from Edinburgh otherwise I would be continuing my care with them, however they were also supportive in passing on the records of my treatment so I can find someone new nearby.
