I want to highlight how genuinely remorseful he was for our loss, and how kind he was. Matt was also so kind, helping me hook up my slideshow for my Gram, and assisting us. Every detail was really thoughtful, including a special charm Nick gave my mother and I at the end that is cut in half, one piece to stay with my grandmother & one with us. They checked in on us at the perfect times, asking if we needed coffee or water. They greeted all of our family and gave their condolences. Perhaps the most touching aspect was how Nick helped us get my Grammy home. There was an issue back home in CA with her death certificate (nothing to do with Alfieri, it was her doctors), and she almost did not make it back to PA, her final resting place. Thank you Nick and Matt, truly. You gave my Mom, her brother, and our whole family peace and closure with your services.

We are so lucky to live in Mount Washington with two amazing Funeral Home Families to help us when we so need it. My goes out to all who've had to delay or forego services, because it IS such a helpful part of the grieving process. He was NOT in the least consoling or comforting at a time that is so deeply hurtful. He only added to my stress. A meeting with him to address these issue was met with distant and some inane explanations for his actions. At no time did he offer any semblance of an apology. Subsequent meeting with the owner was very much respectful and empathetic to my dismay and anger at Jeff's demeanor. There is a problem with communication policy/practice at Slater's. Events must be conveyed to bereaved individuals in a thorough and specific manner. This led to much confusion and stress for me. My husband had a grey/black mustache which became a black smudge for his viewing. I could understand if there was an accident but just be honest. Slater's as whole was good BUT the Funeral Director needs to find another career choice. Simply believe he has been doing this for 30 plus years and lacks empathy and common courtesy when interaction with his customers. Truly truly a sad state.

I was also threatened with pictures of my brutally murdered son when I 6 months later (I was in shock at the time and just accepted I had to have a closed casket) later went in to see why I couldnt have had a open casket. My son was shot in the head and but had a his full face so Im sure they could have put a hat on him or something. I mean the reconstruct faces at some funeral homes and my sons face was fine. My mom and brother seen pics of him from the corner and they both said his face looked fine it only had a small scratch under his left eye that makeup could have hid easliy. When I asked the funeral director he said, "that kid had no back of his head!!", "you want me to show you??!" As he was looking through his folder to show me this horrendous picture of my son!!! I also wanted to see what suit they buried my son in since it was I couldnt see my son and didnt know the suit was never delivered until after my son was buried. The funeral director lied right to my mom and my face and had the nerve to say my mom brought his suit, but she did not and was not the one suppose to even bring it. Also it was made very clear this was a young man's funeral and there would be a lot of ppl attending and the funeral director was either running around yelling about the amount if ppl there or he was hitting on ppl and not only was he a easy 20yrs older then the ppl he was chasing around but he is a married man, and suppose to be a religious one too... It was so bad at one point he was literally stocking ppl and relentless hitting on them even on facebook. He is truly a sick man and I can not believe I trusted him in my weakest moments with my sons finally hours on this earth. Please I beg of you to not make the same mistake!!! I tried contacting the funeral home and its owners countless times, not that they could even fix anything, but I wanted them to know what kind of service my son had and for them to make sure it doesnt happen to somebody else, but I never even got 1 reply back, nothing. Im telling you please do no waste your $, or emotional well being and go with a funeral home that has respect for your loved ones weither they are alive or dead because Greens does not.

I have no idea who he was supposed to look like...definitely not my Dad. And his hair looked like he just got out of bed!The unfriendly personnel offered cold respect to family and friends. The Pastor we chose had a lovely service before the presentation of Military Honors. At that point, they wheeled the casket in to the chapel area which felt very disrespectful to my Dad. This was not done in a ceremonial fashion and destroyed the ambiance established by the Pastor. Why not have the casket in the chapel during the eulogy waiting for the Honors? There was no honor or respect. It was awful!

When that spouse died in 2024, Burket-Truby was responsive and kind. Both Sean and Shea helped us in the first difficult days after the death, as we formed a decision to have a memorial service several months later. When we changed some of the preplanned arrangements, Burket-Truby kept up and gave us excellent advice. We ended up with a fairly complex plan for a memorial service, and Burket-Truby handled their part promptly and beautifully. The house itself is beautiful & it's surrounded by pretty trees. The attendants and personnel are extremely professional but also very caring. The makeup person does a great job as well. They also have a nice little chapel area where we actually had the funeral services for my grandparents. The bathrooms are also very nice- seems strange but I can always appreciate a good bathroom! They also go the extra mile & make a slide show DVD of your loved one if u provide them with pictures. The DVD makes a beautiful & comforting keepsake. Overall I would highly recommend Simons.
